1 Now it happened in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and they spoke in such a way that a copious multitude of both Jews and Greeks believed.	1 Or il arriva qu'à Iconium ils entrèrent ensemble dans la synagogue des Juifs, et parlèrent de telle sorte, qu'une multitude considérable de Juifs et de Grecs embrassa la foi.
2 Yet truly, the Jews who were unbelieving had incited and enflamed the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.	2 Mais les Juifs qui restèrent incrédules soulevèrent et excitèrent à la colère l'esprit des gentils contre les frères.
3 And so, they remained for a long time, acting faithfully in the Lord, offering testimony to the Word of his grace, providing signs and wonders done by their hands.	3 Ils demeurèrent donc longtemps, agissant avec assurance dans le Seigneur, qui rendait témoignage à la parole de sa grâce, en permettant que des miracles et des prodiges fussent faits par leurs mains.
4 Then the multitude of the city was divided. And certainly, some were with the Jews, yet truly others were with the Apostles.	4 Cependant la population de la ville se divisa : les uns étaient pour les Juifs, et les autres pour les apôtres.
5 Now when an assault had been planned by the Gentiles and the Jews with their leaders, so that they might treat them with contempt and stone them,	5 Mais comme il se fit un soulèvement des gentils et des Juifs, avec leurs chefs, pour les accabler d'outrages et les lapider,
6 they, realizing this, fled together to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the entire surrounding region. And they were evangelizing in that place.	6 les apôtres, l'ayant compris, se refugièrent dans les villes de Lycaonie, à Lystre et à Derbe, et dans tout le pays d'alentour, et là ils annonçaient l'Evangile.
7 And a certain man was sitting at Lystra, disabled in his feet, lame from his mother’s womb, who had never walked.	7 Or à Lystre se tenait assis un homme perclus des pieds, boiteux dès le sein de sa mère, et qui n'avait jamais marché.
8 This man heard Paul speaking. And Paul, gazing at him intently, and perceiving that he had faith, so that he might be healed,	8 Il entendit parler Paul, qui, fixant les yeux sur lui, et voyant qu'il avait la foi qu'il serait guéri (reformuler pour qu'il soit guéri),
9 said with a loud voice, “Stand upright upon your feet!” And he leaped up and walked around.	9 dit d'une voix forte : Lève-toi droit sur tes pieds. Il se leva d'un saut, et il marchait.
10 But when the crowds had seen what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice in the Lycaonian language, saying, “The gods, having taken the likenesses of men, have descended to us!”	10 La foule ayant vu ce que Paul avait fait éleva la voix, disant en lycaonien : Des dieux devenus semblables aux hommes sont descendus vers nous.
11 And they called Barnabas, ‘Jupiter,’ yet truly they called Paul, ‘Mercury,’ because he was the lead speaker.	11 Et ils appelaient Barnabé Jupiter, et Paul Mercure, parce que c'était lui qui portait la parole.
12 Also, the priest of Jupiter, who was outside the city, in front of the gate, bringing in oxen and garlands, was willing to offer sacrifice with the people.	12 Même le prêtre de Jupiter, qui était à l'entrée de la ville, amenant des taureaux avec des couronnes devant les portes, voulait, aussi bien que le peuple, offrir un sacrifice.
13 And as soon as the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul, had heard this, tearing their tunics, they leapt into the crowd, crying out	13 Mais les apôtres, Barnabé et Paul, l'ayant appris, déchirèrent leurs tuniques et s'élancèrent dans la foule, criant
14 and saying: “Men, why would you do this? We also are mortals, men like yourselves, preaching to you to be converted, from these vain things, to the living God, who made heaven and earth and the sea and all that is in them.	14 et disant : Hommes, pourquoi faites-vous cela ? Nous aussi nous sommes mortels, des hommes semblables à vous ; et nous vous exhortons à quitter ces choses vaines pour vous convertir au Dieu vivant, qui a fait le ciel et la terre, et la mer, et tout ce qu'ils contiennent ;
15 In previous generations, he permitted all nations to walk in their own ways.	15 qui dans les générations passées a laissé toutes les nations marcher dans leurs propres voies.
16 But certainly, he did not leave himself without testimony, doing good from heaven, giving rains and fruitful seasons, filling their hearts with food and gladness.”	16 Mais il ne s'est pas laissé sans témoignage, faisant du bien en dispensant du ciel les pluies et les saisons fertiles, remplissant nos cœurs d'aliments et de joie.
17 And by saying these things, they were barely able to restrain the crowds from immolating to them.	17 En disant ces paroles, c'est à peine s'ils empêchèrent la foule de leur offrir un sacrifice.
18 Now certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium arrived there. And having persuaded the crowd, they stoned Paul and dragged him outside of the city, thinking him to be dead.	18 Cependant quelques Juifs survinrent d'Antioche et d'Iconium, et gagnèrent la foule ; et ayant lapidé Paul, ils le traînèrent hors de la ville, pensant qu'il était mort.
19 But as the disciples were standing around him, he got up and entered the city. And the next day, he set out with Barnabas for Derbe.	19 Mais les disciples l'ayant entouré, il se leva et rentra dans la ville ; et le jour suivant, il partit avec Barnabé pour Derbe.
20 And when they had evangelized that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch,	20 Et lorsqu'ils eurent évangélisé cette ville et instruit de nombreuses personnes, ils retournèrent à Lystre, à Iconium et à Antioche,
21 strengthening the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them that they should remain always in the faith, and that it is necessary for us to enter into the kingdom of God through many tribulations.	21 affermissant les âmes des disciples, les exhortant à persévérer dans la foi, et leur apprenant que c'est par beaucoup de tribulations qu'il faut que nous entrions dans le royaume de Dieu.
22 And when they had established priests for them in each church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, in whom they believed.	22 Lorsqu'ils eurent établi pour eux des prêtres dans chaque église, après avoir prié et jeûné, ils les recommandèrent au Seigneur, auquel ils avaient cru.
23 And traveling by way of Pisidia, they arrived in Pamphylia.	23 Traversant ensuite la Pisidie, ils vinrent en Pamphylie.
24 And having spoken the word of the Lord in Perga, they went down into Attalia.	24 Et après avoir annoncé la parole du Seigneur à Perge, ils descendirent à Attalie ;
25 And from there, they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had now accomplished.	25 de là ils firent voile pour Antioche, d'où ils avaient été confiés à la grâce de Dieu, pour l'œuvre qu'ils avaient accomplie.
26 And when they had arrived and had gathered together the church, they related what great things God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.	26 Quand ils furent arrivés, ils assemblèrent l'Eglise, et racontèrent les grandes choses que Dieu avait faites avec eux, et comment ils avaient ouvert aux gentils la porte de la foi.
27 And they remained for no small amount of time with the disciples.	27 Et ils demeurèrent assez longtemps avec les disciples.
