1 Now on the morning of the Sabbath, when it began to grow light on the first Sabbath, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulcher.	1 Passado o sábado, ao amanhecer o primeiro dia da semana, foi Maria Madalena e a outra Maria visitar o sepulcro.
2 And behold, a great earthquake occurred. For an Angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and as he approached, he rolled back the stone and sat down on it.	2 Eis que se deu um grande terremoto. Porque um anjo do Senhor desceu do céu, e, aproximando-se, revolveu a pedra do sepulcro, e sentou-se sobre ela.
3 Now his appearance was like lightning, and his vestment was like snow.	3 O seu aspecto era como um relâmpago, e o seu vestido como a neve.
4 Then, out of fear of him, the guards were terrified, and they became like dead men.	4 Com o temor que tiveram dele, aterraram-se os guardas, e ficaram como mortos.
5 Then the Angel responded by saying to the women: “Do not be afraid. For I know that you are seeking Jesus, who was crucified.	5 Mas o anjo, tomando a palavra, disse às mulheres: "Vós não temais, porque sei que procurais a Jesus, que foi crucificado.
6 He is not here. For he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where the Lord was placed.	6 Ele já aqui não está, ressuscitou como tinha dito. Vinde e vede o lugar, onde o Senhor esteve depositado.
7 And then, go quickly, and tell his disciples that he has risen. And behold, he will precede you to Galilee. There you shall see him. Lo, I have told you beforehand.”	7 Ide já dizer aos seus discípulos que ele ressuscitou; e eis que vai adiante de vós para a Galileia; lá o vereis. Eis que eu vo-lo disse antes."
8 And they went out of the tomb quickly, with fear and in great joy, running to announce it to his disciples.	8 Saíram logo do sepulcro com medo e grande gáudio, e foram correndo dar a nova aos discípulos.
9 And behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Hail.” But they drew near and took hold of his feet, and they adored him.	9 E eis que Jesus lhes saiu ao encontro e lhes disse: 'Eu vos saúdo." Elas aproximaram-se, abraçaram os seus pés e prostraram-se diante dele.
10 Then Jesus said to them: “Do not be afraid. Go, announce it to my brothers, so that they may go to Galilee. There they shall see me.”	10 Então Jesus disse-lhes: "Não temais; ide, avisai meus irmãos, para que vão à Galileia; lá me verão."
11 And when they had departed, behold, some of the guards went into the city, and they reported to the leaders of the priests all that had happened.	11 Enquanto elas iam a caminho, foram à cidade alguns dos guardas, e noticiaram aos príncipes dos sacerdotes tudo o que tinha sucedido.
12 And gathering together with the elders, having taken counsel, they gave an abundant sum of money to the soldiers,	12 Tendo-se eles congregado com os anciãos, depois de tomarem conselho, deram uma grande soma de dinheiro aos soldados,
13 saying: “Say that his disciples arrived at night and stole him away, while we were sleeping.	13 dizendo-lhes: "Dizei: Os seus discípulos vieram de noite, e, enquanto nós estávamos dormindo, o roubaram.
14 And if the procurator hears about this, we will persuade him, and we will protect you.”	14 Se chegar isto aos ouvidos do governador, nós o aplacaremos e estareis seguros. "
15 Then, having accepted the money, they did as they were instructed. And this word has been spread among the Jews, even to this day.	15 Eles, recebido o dinheiro, fizeram como lhes tinha sido ensinado. E esta voz divulgou-se entre os Judeus e dura até ao dia de hoje.
16 Now the eleven disciples went on to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.	16 Os onze discípulos partiram para a Galileia, para o monte que Jesus lhes tinha indicado.
17 And, seeing him, they worshipped him, but certain ones doubted.	17 Quando o viram, adoraram-no eles que a princípio tinham duvidado.
18 And Jesus, drawing near, spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.	18 Jesus, aproximando-se, falou-lhes assim: "Foi-me dado todo o poder no céu e na terra.
19 Therefore, go forth and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,	19 Ide, pois, ensinai todas as gentes, baptizando-as em nome do Pai, e do Filho, e do Espírito Santo,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have ever commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, even to the consummation of the age.”	20 ensinando-as a observar todas as coisas que vos mandei. Eu estarei convosco todos os dias, até ao fim do mundo.
