Ezekiel 37

1 The hand of the Lord was set upon me, and he led me away in the Spirit of the Lord, and he released me in the midst of a plain which was full of bones.	1 Die Hand des HERRN kam über mich: er führte mich im Zustande der Verzückung (vgl. 11,24) hinaus und ließ mich mitten in der Tal-Ebene nieder, die voll von Totengebeinen war.
2 And he led me around, through them, on every side. Now they were very many upon the face of the plain, and they were exceedingly dry.	2 Er führte mich ringsherum (= überall) an diesen vorüber; und siehe, es lagen ihrer sehr viele über die ganze Tal-Ebene hin, aber alle waren ganz verdorrt.
3 And he said to me, “Son of man, do you think that these bones will live?” And I said, “O Lord God, you know.”	3 Da fragte er mich: »Menschensohn, können wohl diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden?« Ich antwortete: »HERR, mein Gott, du weißt es.«
4 And he said to me, “Prophesy about these bones. And you shall say to them: Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!	4 Hierauf gebot er mir: »Weissage über diese Gebeine und rufe ihnen zu: ›Ihr verdorrten Gebeine, vernehmt das Wort des HERRN!
5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will send spirit into you, and you shall live.	5 So hat Gott der HERR zu (oder: von) diesen Gebeinen gesagt: Fürwahr, ich will Odem (oder: Lebensgeist) in euch kommen lassen, damit ihr wieder lebendig werdet,
6 And I will set sinews upon you, and I will cause flesh to grow over you, and I will extend skin over you. And I will give you spirit, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am the Lord.”	6 und will Sehnen an euch schaffen und Fleisch über euch wachsen lassen, ich will euch mit Haut überziehen und euch Odem (oder: Lebensgeist) einflößen, damit ihr wieder lebendig werdet und erkennt, daß ich der HERR bin.‹«
7 And I prophesied, just as he had instructed me. But a noise occurred, as I was prophesying, and behold: a commotion. And the bones joined together, each one at its joint.	7 Da weissagte ich, wie mir geboten war; und als ich geweissagt hatte, entstand plötzlich ein Rascheln, und die Gebeine fügten sich zusammen, eins an das andere.
8 And I saw, and behold: sinews and flesh rose up over them; and skin was extended over them. But they had no spirit within them.	8 Als ich nun hinschaute, nahm ich wohl Sehnen an ihnen wahr, und Fleisch war über sie gewachsen, und mit Haut waren sie oben überzogen, aber Odem (oder: Lebensgeist) war noch nicht in ihnen.
9 And he said to me: “Prophesy to the spirit! Prophesy, O son of man, and you shall say to the spirit: Thus says the Lord God: Approach, O spirit, from the four winds, and blow across these ones who were slain, and revive them.”	9 Da sagte er zu mir: »Richte eine Weissagung an den Odem (oder: Lebensgeist), ja weissage, Menschensohn, und sprich zu dem Lebensgeist: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: O Geist, komm von den vier Winden herbei und hauche diese Erschlagenen an, daß sie wieder lebendig werden!‹«
10 And I prophesied, just as he had instructed me. And spirit entered into them, and they lived. And they stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.	10 Als ich nun so weissagte, wie er mir geboten hatte, da kam der Lebensgeist in sie, so daß sie lebendig wurden und auf ihre Füße traten, eine gewaltig große Heerschar.
11 And he said to me: “Son of man: All these bones are the house of Israel. They say: ‘Our bones are dried out, and our hope has perished, and we have been cut off.’	11 Hierauf sagte er zu mir: »Menschensohn, diese Gebeine hier sind das ganze Haus Israel. Siehe, sie sagen jetzt: ›Verdorrt sind unsere Gebeine, und geschwunden ist unsere Hoffnung: es ist aus mit uns!‹
12 Because of this, prophesy, and you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your tombs, and I will lead you away from your sepulchers, O my people. And I will lead you into the land of Israel.	12 Darum weissage du und sage zu ihnen: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Wisset wohl: ich will eure Gräber öffnen und euch, mein Volk, aus euren Gräbern hervorgehen lassen und euch in das Land Israel zurückbringen:
13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have opened your sepulchers, and when I will have led you away from your tombs, O my people.	13 dann werdet ihr erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich eure Gräber öffne und euch, mein Volk, aus euren Gräbern hervorgehen lasse.
14 And I will place my Spirit within you, and you shall live. And I will cause you to rest upon your own soil. And you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and acted, says the Lord God.”	14 Ich will also meinen Geist in euch kommen lassen, daß ihr lebendig werdet, und will euch wieder in euer Land versetzen, damit ihr erkennt, daß ich, der HERR, es verheißen habe und es auch zur Ausführung bringe!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN.«
15 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	15 Weiter erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
16 “And as for you, son of man, take up a piece of wood for yourself, and write upon it: ‘For Judah, and for the sons of Israel, his companions.’ And take up another piece of wood, and write upon it: ‘For Joseph, the wood of Ephraim, and for the entire house of Israel, and for his companions.’	16 »Du, Menschensohn, nimm dir einen Holzstab und schreibe darauf: ›Juda und die mit ihm vereinten Israeliten‹. Sodann nimm noch einen anderen Holzstab und schreibe darauf: ›Joseph, der Stab Ephraims und des ganzen mit ihm vereinten Hauses Israel‹.
17 And join these, one to the other, for yourself, as one piece of wood. And they will be united in your hand.	17 Dann füge (= binde) dir beide Holzstäbe zu einem einzigen Stabe zusammen, so daß sie ein Ganzes in deiner Hand bilden!«
18 Then, when the sons of your people will speak to you, saying: ‘Will you not tell us what you intend by this?’	18 »Wenn dann deine Volksgenossen zu dir sagen: ›Willst du uns nicht erklären, was dies bedeuten soll?‹,
19 you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take up the wood of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, which are joined to him, and I will put them together with the wood of Judah, and I will make them one piece of wood. And they will be one in his hand.	19 so antworte ihnen: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Seht, ich werde den Stab Josephs und der mit ihm vereinten Stämme Israels, der in der Hand Ephraims ist, nehmen und ihn zu dem Stabe Judas hinzutun und sie (beide) zu einem einzigen Stabe machen, so daß sie ein Ganzes in meiner Hand bilden.‹
20 Then the pieces of wood, on which you have written, will be in your hand, before their eyes.	20 Wenn du dann die Stäbe, die du mit Inschriften versehen hast, vor ihren Augen in deiner Hand hältst,
21 And you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take up the sons of Israel, from the midst of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them together on every side, and I will lead them onto their own soil.	21 so sage zu ihnen: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Wisset wohl: ich will die Kinder Israels aus den Heidenvölkern, unter die sie haben ziehen müssen, herausholen und sie von allen Seiten her sammeln und sie in ihr Land zurückbringen.
22 And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will be ruler over all. And they will no longer be two nations, nor will they be divided any more into two kingdoms.	22 Ich will sie dann zu einem einzigen Volk machen in dem Lande, auf den Bergen Israels, so daß ein einziger König über sie alle herrscht; sie sollen alsdann nicht wieder zwei Völker bilden und nicht wieder in zwei Reiche geteilt sein.‹«
23 And they will no longer be defiled by their idols, and by their abominations, and by all their iniquities. And I will save them, out of all the settlements in which they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. And they will be my people, and I will be their God.	23 »›Dann sollen sie sich nicht mehr an ihren Götzen und abscheulichen Abgöttern und durch all ihre Abfallssünden verunreinigen; nein, ich will sie frei machen von all ihren Treubrüchen, durch die sie sich versündigt haben, und will sie reinigen; dann sollen sie mein Volk werden, und ich will ihr Gott sein.
24 And my servant David shall be the king over them, and they shall have one shepherd. They shall walk in my judgments, and they shall keep my commandments, and they shall do them.	24 Mein Knecht David aber soll König über sie sein, und sie sollen alle einen einzigen Hirten haben; dann werden sie nach meinen Weisungen wandeln, meine Satzungen beobachten und nach ihnen handeln.
25 And they shall live upon the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived. And they shall live upon it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, even for all time. And David, my servant, shall be their leader, in perpetuity.	25 Sie sollen dann wieder in dem Lande wohnen, das ich meinem Knecht Jakob gegeben habe und in welchem ihre Väter gewohnt haben; auch sie sollen darin wohnen samt ihren Kindern und Kindeskindern bis in Ewigkeit; und mein Knecht David soll ihr Herrscher sein für immer.
26 And I will strike a covenant of peace with them. This will be an everlasting covenant for them. And I will establish them, and multiply them. And I will set my sanctuary in their midst, unceasingly.	26 Dann will ich auch einen Friedensbund mit ihnen schließen, ein ewiger Bund soll mit ihnen bestehen; und ich will sie seßhaft machen und mehren und mein Heiligtum in ihrer Mitte belassen ewiglich.
27 And my tabernacle shall be among them. And I will be their God, and they will be my people.	27 Meine Wohnung aber wird über ihnen sein; ich will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein.
28 And the Gentiles shall know that I am the Lord, the Sanctifier of Israel, when my sanctuary will be in their midst, forever.”	28 Auch die Heidenvölker werden dann erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin, der Israel heiligt, wenn mein Heiligtum sich in ihrer Mitte befindet ewiglich!‹«
