Psalms 82

1 A Canticle Psalm of Asaph.	1 Cântico. Salmo de Asaf
2 O God, who will ever be like you? Do not be silent, and do not be unmoved, O God.	2 Senhor, não fiqueis silencioso, não permaneçais surdo, nem insensível, ó Deus.
3 For behold, your enemies have sounded off, and those who hate you have carried out a head.	3 Porque eis que se tumultuam vossos inimigos, levantam a cabeça aqueles que vos odeiam.
4 They have acted with malice in counsel over your people, and they have plotted against your holy ones.	4 Urdem tramas para o vosso povo, conspiram contra vossos protegidos.
5 They have said, “Come, let us scatter them from the nations and not allow the name of Israel to be remembered any longer.”	5 “Vinde – dizem eles –, exterminemo-lo dentre os povos, desapareça a própria lembrança do nome de Israel.”
6 For they plotted unanimously. Joined together against you, they ordained a covenant:	6 Com efeito, eles conspiram de comum acordo e contra vós fazem coalizão:
7 the tabernacle of Edomites and Ishmaelites, and Moab and the Hagarites,	7 os nômades de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moab e os agarenos,
8 and Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, the foreigners among the inhabitants of Tyre.	8 Gebal, Amon e Amalec, a Filisteia com as gentes de Tiro.
9 For even Assur comes with them. They have become the helpers of the sons of Lot.	9 Também os assírios a eles se uniram, e aos filhos de Lot ofereceram a sua força.
10 Do to them as you did to Midian and Sisera, just as to Jabin at the torrent of Kishon.	10 Tratai-os como Madiã e Sísara, e Jabin junto à torrente de Cison!
11 They perished at Endor, and they became like the dung of the earth.	11 Eles pereceram todos em Endor e serviram de adubo para a terra.
12 Set their leaders to be like Oreb and Zeeb, and Zebah and Zalmunna: all their leaders	12 Tratai seus chefes como Oreb e Zeb; como Zebá e Sálmana, seus príncipes,
13 who said, “Let us possess the Sanctuary of God for an inheritance.”	13 que disseram: “Tomemos posse das terras onde Deus reside”.
14 My God, set them like a wheel, and like stubble before the face of the wind.	14 Ó meu Deus, fazei deles como folhas que o turbilhão revolve, como a palha carregada pelo vento,
15 Set them like a fire burning up the forest, and like a flame burning up the mountains.	15 Como o fogo que devora a mata, como a labareda que incendeia os montes;
16 So will you pursue them in your tempest, and disturb them in your wrath.	16 Persegui-os com a vossa tempestade, apavorai-os com o vosso furacão.
17 Fill their faces with shame, and they will seek your name, O Lord.	17 Cobri-lhes a face da ignomínia, para que, vencidos, busquem, Senhor, o vosso nome.
18 Let them be ashamed and troubled, from age to age, and let them be confounded and perish.	18 Enchei-os de vergonha e de humilhação eternas, que eles pereçam confundidos.
19 And let them know that the Lord is your name. You alone are the Most High in all the earth.	19 E que reconheçam que só vós, cujo nome é Senhor, sois o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.
