¹ Unto the end. For those who will be changed: of David.	¹ In fine, per quelli che saranno commutati, [David].
² Save me, O God, for the waters have entered, even to my soul.	² Fammi salvo, Iddio; però che entrorono l'acque insino all' anima mia.
³ I have become stuck in a deep quagmire, and there is no firm footing. I have arrived at the height of the sea, and a tempest has overwhelmed me.	³ Son sommerso insino al luto del profondo; e non è sostanza. Per che nel profondo del mare sommersemi la tempesta.
⁴ I have endured hardships, while crying out. My jaws have become hoarse; my eyes have failed. Meanwhile, I hope in my God.	⁴ M' affaticai gridando; sono fatto rauco; vennero a meno li occhii miei, sperando nell' Iddio mio.
⁵ Those who hate me without cause have been multiplied beyond the hairs of my head. My enemies, who persecuted me unjustly, have been strengthened. Then I was required to pay for what I did not take.	⁵ Quelli che mi hanno odiato senza cagione sono moltiplicati sopra li capelli del mio capo. Gli miei nemici, che mi hanno perseguitato ingiustamente, sono confortati; allora rendeva quelle cose che non ho tolto.
⁶ O God, you know my foolishness, and my offenses have not been hidden from you.	⁶ Tu sai, Iddio, la mia insipienza; da te non sono ascosti li miei delitti.
⁷ Let those who wait for you, O Lord, the Lord of hosts, not be shamed in me. Let those who seek you, O God of Israel, not be confounded over me.	⁷ Non si vergognino in me quelli che te aspettano, Signore, Signore delle virtù. Quelli che ti chiedono, Iddio d' Israel, non si confonderanno sopra di me.
⁸ For because of you, I have endured reproach; confusion has covered my face.	⁸ Però [che] per te ho sostenuto la ingiuria; la confusione ha coperta la mia faccia.
⁹ I have become a stranger to my brothers and a sojourner to the sons of my mother.	⁹ Io sono fatto straniero da' miei fratelli, e come pellegrino da' figliuoli di mia madre.
¹⁰ For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproached you have fallen upon me.	¹⁰ Il zelo della tua casa mi ha inghiottito; e gli vituperii delli tuoi riprovatori cascorono sopra di me.
¹¹ And I covered my soul with fasting, and it has become a reproach to me.	¹¹ E in digiuno io ho coperta l'anima mia; e a me è fatto in vituperio.
¹² And I put on a haircloth as my garment, and I became a parable to them.	¹² E mi puosi il cilicio per vestimento; e a loro son fatto in proverbio.
¹³ Those who sat at the gate spoke against me, and those who drank wine made me their song.	¹³ Quelli che sedevano nella porta parlavano contra di me; e contra di me cantavano gli beventi il vino.
¹⁴ But as for me, truly, my prayer is to you, O Lord. This time has pleased you well, O God. In the multitude of your mercy, in the truth of your salvation, hear me.	¹⁴ Ma io a te, Signore, mando la mia orazione; egli è il tempo della riconciliazione, Iddio. Esaudi me nella molta tua misericordia, nella verità della [tua] salute.
¹⁵ Rescue me from the quagmire, so that I may not become trapped. Free me from those who hate me and from deep waters.	¹⁵ Levami dal luto, acciò non mi profondi; libera me dalli miei odianti, e dalli profondi delle acque.
¹⁶ Do not allow the tempest of water to submerge me, nor the deep to absorb me. And do not allow the well to close in on me.	¹⁶ Non mi sommerga la tempesta delle acque, e il profondo non m' inghiottisca; e il pozzo non stringa la sua bocca sopra di me.
¹⁷ Hear me, O Lord, for your mercy is kind. Look upon me, according to the fullness of your compassion.	¹⁷ Esaudi me, Signore, per che benigna è la tua misericordia; e risguarda in me secondo la moltitudine delle tue miserazioni.
¹⁸ And do not turn your face away from your servant, for I am in trouble: heed me quickly.	¹⁸ E non rimuovere la faccia dal servo tuo; per che son tribulato, velocemente esaudi me.
¹⁹ Attend to my soul, and free it. Rescue me, because of my enemies.	¹⁹ Attendi all' anima mia, e liberala; per gli miei nemici libera me.
²⁰ You know my reproach, and my confusion, and my reverence.	²⁰ Tu sai il mio improperio, e la mia confusione, e la mia reverenza.
²¹ All those who trouble me are in your sight; my heart has anticipated reproach and misery. And I sought for one who might grieve together with me, but there was no one, and for one who might console me, and I found no one.	²¹ Tutti che mi trìbulano sono nel tuo cospetto; il mio cuore ha aspettato l' improperio e la miseria. E aspettai chi meco si contristassero, e non furono; e non trovai chi me consolasse.
²² And they gave me gall for my food. And in my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.	²² E per mio cibo mi dettero il fiele; e abbeverorono la mia sete coll' aceto.
²³ Let their table be a snare before them, and a retribution, and a scandal.	²³ Sia fatta loro mensa dinanzi a loro in lacciuolo, e in retribuzioni e in scandalo.
²⁴ Let their eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and may their back always be crooked.	²⁴ Accechinsi loro occhi acciò non vedano; e loro spalle sempre siano piegate.
²⁵ Pour out your indignation upon them, and may the fury of your anger take hold of them.	²⁵ Spargi sopra loro l'ira tua; siano appresi dal furore della tua ira.
²⁶ May their dwelling place be deserted, and may there be no one who dwells in their tabernacles.	²⁶ La loro abitazione sia fatta deserta; e non vi sia chi abiti ne' loro tabernacoli.
²⁷ For they persecuted whomever you struck. And they have added to the grief of my wounds.	²⁷ Imperò che hanno perseguitati quelli che hai percosso; e hanno aggiunto sopra il dolore delle mie ferite.
²⁸ Assign an iniquity upon their iniquity, and may they not enter into your justice.	²⁸ Giungi la iniquità sopra loro iniquità; e non entrino nella tua giustizia.
²⁹ Delete them from the Book of the Living, and let them not be written down with the just.	²⁹ Siano scancellati del libro de' viventi; e con li giusti non siano scritti.
³⁰ I am poor and sorrowful, but your salvation, O God, has taken me up.	³⁰ Io son povero e dolente; la tua salute, Iddio, mi ha ricevuto.
³¹ I will praise the name of God with a canticle, and I will magnify him with praise.	³¹ Loderò il nome di Dio con cantico; e magnificherollo colla lode.
³² And it will please God more than a new calf producing horns and hoofs.	³² E a Dio piacerà più che il vitello giovincello, producente le corne e le ugne.
³³ Let the poor see and rejoice. Seek God, and your soul will live.	³³ Vedano li poveri, e rallegrinsi; cercate Iddio, e viverà l' anima vostra.
³⁴ For the Lord has heard the poor, and he has not despised his prisoners.	³⁴ Perche (etiam) il Signore ha udito li poveri; e non ha guardato li suoi nemici.
³⁵ Let the heavens and the earth praise him: the sea, and everything that crawls in it.	³⁵ Lodino quello li cieli e la terra, il mare e tutti loro rettili.
³⁶ For God will save Zion, and the cities of Judah will be built up. And they will dwell there, and they will acquire it by inheritance.	³⁶ Imperò [che] Dio farà salva Sion; ed edificheransi le città di Giuda. E ivi abiteranno, e acquisteranno quella per eredità.
³⁷ And the offspring of his servants will possess it; and those who love his name will dwell in it.	³⁷ Il seme de' suoi servi possederà quella; e in quella abiteranno quelli che amano il nome suo.
