Psalms 68

1 Unto the end. For those who will be changed: of David.	1 Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi. Cântico. Levanta-se Deus; eis que se dispersam seus inimigos, e fogem diante dele os que o odeiam.
2 Save me, O God, for the waters have entered, even to my soul.	2 Eles se dissipam como a fumaça, como a cera que se derrete ao fogo. Assim perecem os maus diante de Deus.
3 I have become stuck in a deep quagmire, and there is no firm footing. I have arrived at the height of the sea, and a tempest has overwhelmed me.	3 Os justos, porém, exultam e se rejubilam em sua presença, e transbordam de alegria.
4 I have endured hardships, while crying out. My jaws have become hoarse; my eyes have failed. Meanwhile, I hope in my God.	4 Cantai à glória de Deus, cantai um cântico ao seu nome, abri caminho para o que em seu carro avança pelo deserto. Senhor é o seu nome, exultai em sua presença.
5 Those who hate me without cause have been multiplied beyond the hairs of my head. My enemies, who persecuted me unjustly, have been strengthened. Then I was required to pay for what I did not take.	5 É o pai dos órfãos e o protetor das viúvas, esse Deus que habita num templo santo.
6 O God, you know my foolishness, and my offenses have not been hidden from you.	6 Aos abandonados Deus preparou uma casa, conduz os cativos à liberdade e ao bem-estar; só os rebeldes ficam num deserto ardente.
7 Let those who wait for you, O Lord, the Lord of hosts, not be shamed in me. Let those who seek you, O God of Israel, not be confounded over me.	7 Ó Deus, quando saíeis à frente de vosso povo, quando avançáveis pelo deserto,
8 For because of you, I have endured reproach; confusion has covered my face.	8 a terra tremia, os próprios céus rorejavam diante de vós, o monte Sinai estremecia na presença do Deus de Israel.
9 I have become a stranger to my brothers and a sojourner to the sons of my mother.	9 Sobre vossa herança fizestes cair generosa chuva, e restaurastes suas forças fatigadas.
10 For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproached you have fallen upon me.	10 Vosso rebanho fixou habitação numa terra que vossa bondade, ó Deus, lhe havia preparado.
11 And I covered my soul with fasting, and it has become a reproach to me.	11 Apenas o Senhor profere uma palavra, tornam-se numerosas as mulheres que anunciam a boa nova:
12 And I put on a haircloth as my garment, and I became a parable to them.	12 Fogem, fogem os reis dos exércitos; os habitantes partilham os despojos.
13 Those who sat at the gate spoke against me, and those who drank wine made me their song.	13 Enquanto entre os rebanhos repousáveis, as asas da pomba refulgiam como prata, e de ouro era o brilho de suas penas.
14 But as for me, truly, my prayer is to you, O Lord. This time has pleased you well, O God. In the multitude of your mercy, in the truth of your salvation, hear me.	14 Quando o Todo-poderoso dispersava os reis, caía a neve sobre o Salmon.
15 Rescue me from the quagmire, so that I may not become trapped. Free me from those who hate me and from deep waters.	15 Os montes de Basã são elevados, alcantilados são os montes de Basã.
16 Do not allow the tempest of water to submerge me, nor the deep to absorb me. And do not allow the well to close in on me.	16 Montes escarpados, por que invejais a montanha que Deus escolheu para morar, para nela estabelecer uma habitação eterna?
17 Hear me, O Lord, for your mercy is kind. Look upon me, according to the fullness of your compassion.	17 São milhares e milhares os carros de Deus: do Sinai vem o Senhor ao seu santuário.
18 And do not turn your face away from your servant, for I am in trouble: heed me quickly.	18 Subindo nas alturas levastes os cativos; recebestes homens como tributos, aqueles que recusaram habitar com o Senhor Deus.
19 Attend to my soul, and free it. Rescue me, because of my enemies.	19 Bendito seja o Senhor todos os dias; Deus, nossa salvação, leva nossos fardos:
20 You know my reproach, and my confusion, and my reverence.	20 nosso Deus é um Deus que salva, da morte nos livra o Senhor Deus.
21 All those who trouble me are in your sight; my heart has anticipated reproach and misery. And I sought for one who might grieve together with me, but there was no one, and for one who might console me, and I found no one.	21 Sim, Deus parte a cabeça de seus inimigos, o crânio hirsuto do que persiste em seus pecados.
22 And they gave me gall for my food. And in my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.	22 Dissera o Senhor: Ainda que seja de Basã, eu os farei voltar, eu os trarei presos das profundezas do mar,
23 Let their table be a snare before them, and a retribution, and a scandal.	23 para que banhes no sangue os teus pés, e a língua de teus cães receba dos inimigos seu quinhão.
24 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and may their back always be crooked.	24 Contemplam a vossa chegada, ó Deus, a entrada do meu Deus, do meu rei, no santuário;
25 Pour out your indignation upon them, and may the fury of your anger take hold of them.	25 Vêm na frente os cantores, atrás os tocadores de cítara; no meio, as jovens tocando tamborins.
26 May their dwelling place be deserted, and may there be no one who dwells in their tabernacles.	26 Bendizei a Deus nas vossas assembléias, bendizei ao Senhor, filhos de Israel!
27 For they persecuted whomever you struck. And they have added to the grief of my wounds.	27 Eis Benjamim, o mais jovem, que vai na frente; depois os príncipes de Judá, com seus esquadrões; os príncipes de Zabulon, os príncipes de Neftali.
28 Assign an iniquity upon their iniquity, and may they not enter into your justice.	28 Mostrai, ó Deus, o vosso poder, esse poder com que atuastes em nosso favor.
29 Delete them from the Book of the Living, and let them not be written down with the just.	29 Pelo vosso templo em Jerusalém, ofereçam-vos presentes os reis!
30 I am poor and sorrowful, but your salvation, O God, has taken me up.	30 Reprimi a fera dos canaviais, a manada dos touros com os novilhos das nações pagãs. Que eles se prosternem com barras de prata. Dispersai as nações que se comprazem na guerra.
31 I will praise the name of God with a canticle, and I will magnify him with praise.	31 Aproximem-se os grandes do Egito, estenda a Etiópia suas mãos para Deus.
32 And it will please God more than a new calf producing horns and hoofs.	32 Reinos da terra, cantai à glória de Deus, cantai um cântico ao Senhor,
33 Let the poor see and rejoice. Seek God, and your soul will live.	33 que é levado pelos céus, pelos céus eternos; eis que ele fala, sua voz é potente:
34 For the Lord has heard the poor, and he has not despised his prisoners.	34 Reconhecei o poder de Deus! Sua majestade se estende sobre Israel, sua potência aparece nas nuvens.
35 Let the heavens and the earth praise him: the sea, and everything that crawls in it.	35 De seu santuário, temível é o Deus de Israel; é ele que dá ao seu povo a força e o poder. Bendito seja Deus!
36 For God will save Zion, and the cities of Judah will be built up. And they will dwell there, and they will acquire it by inheritance.
37 And the offspring of his servants will possess it; and those who love his name will dwell in it.
