Psalms 62

1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the desert of Idumea.	1 Salmo de Davi, quando se achava no deserto de Judá.
2 O God, my God: to you, I keep vigil until first light. For you, my soul has thirsted, to you my body, in so many ways.	2 Ó Deus, vós sois o meu Deus, com ardor vos procuro. Minha alma está sedenta de vós, e minha carne por vós anseia como a terra árida e sequiosa, sem água.
3 By a deserted land, both inaccessible and waterless, so I have appeared in the sanctuary before you, in order to behold your virtue and your glory.	3 Quero vos contemplar no santuário, para ver vosso poder e vossa glória.
4 For your mercy is better than life itself. It is you my lips will praise.	4 Porque vossa graça me é mais preciosa do que a vida, meus lábios entoarão vossos louvores.
5 So will I bless you in my life, and I will lift up my hands in your name.	5 Assim vos bendirei em toda a minha vida, com minhas mãos erguidas vosso nome adorarei.
6 Let my soul be filled, as if with marrow and fatness; and my mouth will give praise with exultant lips.	6 Minha alma saciada como de fino manjar, com exultante alegria meus lábios vos louvarão.
7 When I have remembered you on my bed in the morning, I will meditate on you.	7 Quando, no leito, me vem vossa lembrança, passo a noite toda pensando em vós.
8 For you have been my helper. And I will exult under the cover of your wings.	8 Porque vós sois o meu apoio, exulto de alegria, à sombra de vossas asas.
9 My soul has clung close to you. Your right hand has supported me.	9 Minha alma está unida a vós, sustenta-me a vossa destra.
10 Truly, these ones have sought my soul in vain. They will enter into the lower parts of the earth.	10 Quanto aos que me procuram perder, cairão nas profundezas dos abismos,
11 They will be delivered into the hand of the sword. They will be the portions of foxes.	11 serão passados a fio de espada, e se tornarão pasto dos chacais.
12 Truly, the king will rejoice in God: all those who swear by him will be praised, because the mouth of those who speak iniquity has been blocked.	12 O rei, porém, se alegrará em Deus. Será glorificado todo o que jurar pelo seu nome, enquanto aos mentirosos lhes será tapada a boca.
