Psalms 5

1 Unto the end. For her who pursues the inheritance. A Psalm of David.	1 Per il capocoro. Per il flauto. Salmo. Di David.
2 O Lord, listen closely to my words. Understand my outcry.	2 I miei detti ascolta, o Jahvè; intendi il mio gemito.
3 Attend to the voice of my prayer, my King and my God.	3 Porgi orecchio alla voce del mio grido, o mio re, mio Dio! Perché a te prego, o Jahvè,
4 For to you, I will pray. In the morning, Lord, you will hear my voice.	4 Il mattino ascolti la mia voce, il mattino preparo a te e spio.
5 In the morning, I will stand before you, and I will see. For you are not a God who wills iniquity.	5 Poiché tu non sei un Dio che si compiace nella iniquità né tuo ospite può farsi il malvagio.
6 And the malicious will not dwell close to you, nor will the unjust endure before your eyes.	6 Non possono reggere gli arroganti davanti ai tuoi occhi. Hai in odio quanti operano l’iniquità,
7 You hate all who work iniquity. You will destroy all who speak a lie. The bloody and deceitful man, the Lord will abominate.	7 fai perire i menzogneri. L’uomo di sangue e di frode aborri, Jahvè.
8 But I am in the multitude of your mercy. I will enter your house. I will show adoration toward your holy temple, in your fear.	8 lo, invece, (per l’abbondanza della tua grazia posso entrare nella tua casa; adorare verso il tuo santo santuario, nel tuo timore.
9 Lord, lead me in your justice. Because of my enemies, direct my way in your sight.	9 Jahvè, guidami nella tua giustizia a causa di coloro che mi insidiano; spianami innanzi la via;
10 For there is no truth in their mouth: their heart is vain.	10 Perché non è nella loro bocca fermezza, il loro cuore è un abisso. Fossa aperta sono le loro fauci, la loro lingua lisciano.
11 Their throat is an open sepulcher. They have acted deceitfully with their tongues. Judge them, O God. Let them fall by their own intentions: according to the multitude of their impiety, expel them. For they have provoked you, O Lord.	11 Fa’ che la scontino, o Dio; cadano per i loro disegni. Per i tanti loro misfatti disperdili, perché si ribellarono a te.
12 But let all those who hope in you rejoice. They will exult in eternity, and you will dwell in them. And all those who love your name will glory in you.	12 E si allietino quanti si rifugiano in te, in eterno tripudino. Poiché li proteggi, esultino in te, coloro che amano il tuo nome.
13 For you will bless the just. You have crowned us, O Lord, as if with a shield of your good will.	13 Tu poi benedici il giusto, Jahvè, come di uno scudo di grazia lo circondi.
