1 Alleluia. I have loved: therefore, the Lord will heed the voice of my prayer.	1 Alléluia! Quand Israël sortit d’Égypte, quand les fils de Jacob laissèrent ce peuple barbare,
2 For he has inclined his ear to me. And in my days, I will call upon him.	2 Juda devint son sanctuaire, Israël devint son domaine.
3 The sorrows of death have surrounded me, and the perils of Hell have found me. I have found tribulation and sorrow.	3 La mer le vit et s’enfuit, le Jourdain de même retourna en arrière.
4 And so, I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, free my soul.	4 Les montagnes bondissaient comme des béliers, les collines, comme un troupeau.
5 Merciful is the Lord, and just. And our God is compassionate.	5 Que t’arrive-t-il, ô mer, tu t’enfuis? Et toi, Jourdain, pourquoi retournes-tu?
6 The Lord is the keeper of little ones. I was humbled, and he freed me.	6 Et vous montagnes, pourquoi sauter comme des béliers, et vous collines, comme des agneaux?
7 Turn again, my soul, to your rest. For the Lord has done good to you.	7 Tremble, terre, devant ton Maître, devant le Dieu de Jacob!
8 For he has rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from slipping.	8 C’est lui qui change la rocaille en nappe d’eau, et par lui le rocher devient source.
9 I will please the Lord in the land of the living.
