Psalms 114

1 Alleluia. I have loved: therefore, the Lord will heed the voice of my prayer.	1 - Alleluia! Amo il Signore, perch'egli ascoltala voce della mia supplica,
2 For he has inclined his ear to me. And in my days, I will call upon him.	2 perchè china l'orecchio suo verso di me; e in [tutti] i miei giorni l'invocherò.
3 The sorrows of death have surrounded me, and the perils of Hell have found me. I have found tribulation and sorrow.	3 M'avevan circondato ambasce di morte, e pericoli d'averno m'avevan colto; tribolazione e affanno avevo incontrato.
4 And so, I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, free my soul.	4 e il nome del Signore invocai:«O Signore, salva l'anima mia!».
5 Merciful is the Lord, and just. And our God is compassionate.	5 Misericordioso è il Signore e giusto, il nostro Dio sente pietà.
6 The Lord is the keeper of little ones. I was humbled, and he freed me.	6 Protegge gl'impotenti il Signore; ero affranto e m'ha salvato.
7 Turn again, my soul, to your rest. For the Lord has done good to you.	7 Torna, anima mia, nella tua tranquillità, perchè il Signore t'ha beneficata.
8 For he has rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from slipping.	8 Perchè ha scampato l'anima mia da morte, i miei occhi da lacrime, i miei piedi dalla caduta.
9 I will please the Lord in the land of the living.	9 Mi studierò di piacere al Signorenel mondo de' viventi.
