1 Alleluia. Praise the Lord, children. Praise the name of the Lord.	1 [Hallelujah!] Selig der Mann, der den Herrn fürchtet, an seinen Geboten großes Gefallen hat!
2 Blessed is the name of the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.	2 Mächtig im Lande ist sein Stamm, das Geschlecht der Frommen wird gesegnet.
3 From the rising of the sun, even to its setting, praiseworthy is the name of the Lord.	3 Wohlstand und Reichtum sind in seinem Hause, seine Rechtschaffenheit bleibt ewig bestehen.
4 The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory is high above the heavens.	4 Er strahlt in der Finsternis auf als Licht für die Frommen, gütig, barmherzig und gerecht.
5 Who is like the Lord, our God, who dwells on high,	5 Wohl dem Mann, der gütig ist und leiht, seine Pflichten nach Recht erfüllt!
6 and who gazes upon the humble things in heaven and on earth?	6 Gewiß, er wird nimmermehr wanken. In ewigem Andenken bleibt der Gerechte.
7 He lifts up the needy from the ground, and he urges the poor away from filth,	7 Von übler Nachrede hat er nichts zu fürchten. Sein Herz ist gefestigt, voll Vertrauen auf den Herrn.
8 so that he may place him with the leaders, with the leaders of his people.	8 Unerschütterlich ist sein Herz, er fürchtet sich nicht, bis er herabschauen kann auf seine Gegner.
9 He causes a barren woman to live in a house, as the joyful mother of sons.	9 Er teilt aus und spendet den Armen, seine Rechtschaffenheit bleibt ewig bestehen, seine Macht ist hoch in Ehren.
	10 Der Gottlose sieht es und grollt, knirscht mit den Zähnen und schwindet dahin. Das Begehren der Gottlosen wird zunichte.
