Revelation 12

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and onher head a crown of twelve stars.	1 Y apareció en el cielo un gran signo: una Mujer revestida del sol, con la luna bajo sus pies y una corona de doce estrellas en su cabeza.
2 She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.	2 Estaba embarazada y gritaba de dolor porque iba a dar a luz.
3 Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and tenhorns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet.	3 Y apareció en el cielo otro signo: un enorme Dragón rojo como el fuego, con siete cabezas y diez cuernos, y en cada cabeza tenía una diadema.
4 Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stoppedin front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that it could eat the child as soon as it was born.	4 Su cola arrastraba una tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo, y las precipitó sobre la tierra. El Dragón se puso delante de la Mujer que iba a dar a luz, para devorar a su hijo en cuanto naciera.
5 The woman was delivered of a boy, the son who was to rule al the nations with an iron sceptre, andthe child was taken straight up to God and to his throne,	5 La Mujer tuvo un hijo varón que debía regir a todas las naciones con un cetro de hierro. Pero el hijo fue elevado hasta Dios y hasta su trono,
6 while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her to be looked afterfor twelve hundred and sixty days.	6 y la Mujer huyó al desierto, donde Dios le había preparado un refugio para que allí fuera alimentada durante mil doscientos sesenta días.
7 And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragonfought back with his angels,	7 Entonces se libró una batalla en el cielo: Miguel y sus Angeles combatieron contra el Dragón, y este contraatacó con sus ángeles,
8 but they were defeated and driven out of heaven.	8 pero fueron vencidos y expulsados del cielo.
9 The great dragon, the primeval serpent, known as the devil or Satan, who had led all the world astray,was hurled down to the earth and his angels were hurled down with him.	9 Y así fue precipitado el enorme Dragón, la antigua Serpiente, llamada Diablo o Satanás, y el seductor del mundo entero fue arrojado sobre la tierra con todos sus ángeles.
10 Then I heard a voice shout from heaven, 'Salvation and power and empire for ever have been wonby our God, and all authority for his Christ, now that the accuser, who accused our brothers day and night beforeour God, has been brought down.	10 Y escuché una voz potente que resonó en el cielo: «Ya llegó la salvación, el poder y el Reino de nuestro Dios y la soberanía de su Mesías porque ha sido precipitado el acusador de nuestros hermanos, el que día y noche los acusaba delante de nuestro Dios.
11 They have triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word to which they bore witness,because even in the face of death they did not cling to life.	11 Ellos mismos lo han vencido, gracias a la sangre del Cordero y al testimonio que dieron de él, porque despreciaron su vida hasta la muerte.
12 So let the heavens rejoice and al who live there; but for you, earth and sea, disaster is coming --because the devil has gone down to you in a rage, knowing that he has little time left.'	12 ¡Que se alegren entonces el cielo y sus habitantes, pero ay de ustedes, tierra y mar, porque el Diablo ha descendido hasta ustedes con todo su furor, sabiendo que le queda poco tiempo!».
13 As soon as the dragon found himself hurled down to the earth, he sprang in pursuit of the woman,the mother of the male child,	13 El Dragón, al verse precipitado sobre la tierra, se lanzó en persecución de la Mujer que había dado a luz al hijo varón.
14 but she was given a pair of the great eagle's wings to fly away from the serpent into the desert, to theplace where she was to be looked after for a time, two times and half a time.	14 Pero la Mujer recibió las dos alas de la gran águila para volar hasta su refugio en el desierto, donde debía ser alimentada durante tres años y medio, lejos de la Serpiente.
15 So the serpent vomited water from his mouth, like a river, after the woman, to sweep her away in thecurrent,	15 La Serpiente vomitó detrás de la Mujer como un río de agua, para que la arrastrara.
16 but the earth came to her rescue; it opened its mouth and swal owed the river spewed from thedragon's mouth.	16 Pero la tierra vino en ayuda de la Mujer: abrió su boca y se tragó el río que el Dragón había vomitado.
17 Then the dragon was enraged with the woman and went away to make war on the rest of herchildren, who obey God's commandments and have in themselves the witness of Jesus.	17 El Dragón, enfurecido contra la Mujer, se fue a luchar contra el resto de su descendencia, contra los que obedecen los mandamientos de Dios y poseen el testimonio de Jesús.
18 And I took my stand on the seashore.	18 Y yo me quedé de pie sobre la playa.
