1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and onher head a crown of twelve stars.	1 On a vu ensuite dans le ciel un signe impressionnant, une femme revêtue du soleil, avec la lune sous ses pieds et sur sa tête une couronne de douze étoiles.
2 She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.	2 La femme est enceinte, et elle crie de douleur car elle est près d’accoucher.
3 Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and tenhorns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet.	3 Mais un autre signe est apparu dans le ciel: un dragon couleur de feu était là. Il avait sept têtes et dix cornes, et ses têtes étaient couronnées;
4 Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stoppedin front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that it could eat the child as soon as it was born.	4 sa queue balayait un tiers des étoiles du ciel et les précipitait sur la terre. Le dragon s’est posté devant la femme qui allait accoucher de façon à dévorer son enfant sitôt qu’elle aurait accouché.
5 The woman was delivered of a boy, the son who was to rule al the nations with an iron sceptre, andthe child was taken straight up to God and to his throne,	5 Elle a mis au monde son fils, un mâle, celui qui doit mener les nations avec une baguette de fer. Et subitement l’enfant a été enlevé vers Dieu, jusqu’auprès de son trône.
6 while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her to be looked afterfor twelve hundred and sixty days.	6 Quant à la femme, elle a fui au désert; Dieu lui a préparé là un endroit où on la nourrira durant 1 260 jours.
7 And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragonfought back with his angels,	7 Il y eut alors dans le ciel une guerre; Michel et ses anges ont combattu le dragon et le dragon a combattu, aidé par ses anges;
8 but they were defeated and driven out of heaven.	8 mais il n’a pas été le plus fort et ils ont perdu leurs places dans le ciel.
9 The great dragon, the primeval serpent, known as the devil or Satan, who had led all the world astray,was hurled down to the earth and his angels were hurled down with him.	9 Il a donc été précipité, le grand dragon, le serpent d’autrefois, celui qu’on appelle Diable et Satan, celui qui égare la terre entière. On l’a précipité sur la terre et ses anges ont été précipités avec lui.
10 Then I heard a voice shout from heaven, 'Salvation and power and empire for ever have been wonby our God, and all authority for his Christ, now that the accuser, who accused our brothers day and night beforeour God, has been brought down.	10 À ce moment j’ai entendu de grandes acclamations dans le ciel: Voici enfin le salut, la puissance et la royauté de notre Dieu, le règne de son Messie est arrivé! Maintenant est mis à bas celui qui accusait nos frères, qui nuit et jour les accusait devant Dieu.
11 They have triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word to which they bore witness,because even in the face of death they did not cling to life.	11 Mais ils l’ont vaincu par le sang de l’Agneau, par leur parole et leur témoignage, parce qu’ils ont méprisé leur propre vie jusqu’à en mourir.
12 So let the heavens rejoice and al who live there; but for you, earth and sea, disaster is coming --because the devil has gone down to you in a rage, knowing that he has little time left.'	12 Réjouissez-vous, cieux et habitants des cieux, mais malheur à vous terre et mer, car le diable est descendu chez vous; sa fureur est grande car il sait qu’il a peu de temps.”
13 As soon as the dragon found himself hurled down to the earth, he sprang in pursuit of the woman,the mother of the male child,	13 Quand il s’est vu précipité sur terre, le dragon a poursuivi la femme qui avait mis au monde l’enfant mâle.
14 but she was given a pair of the great eagle's wings to fly away from the serpent into the desert, to theplace where she was to be looked after for a time, two times and half a time.	14 Mais on a donné à la femme les deux ailes du grand aigle pour qu’elle vole jusqu’à son endroit au désert. Là elle sera nourrie loin du serpent durant une période, deux périodes et une demi-période.
15 So the serpent vomited water from his mouth, like a river, after the woman, to sweep her away in thecurrent,	15 Le serpent a fait jaillir l’eau de sa bouche derrière la femme. C’était un vrai fleuve où elle allait se noyer.
16 but the earth came to her rescue; it opened its mouth and swal owed the river spewed from thedragon's mouth.	16 Mais la terre est venue au secours de la femme. La terre a ouvert sa bouche, avalant le fleuve que le dragon faisait sortir de sa bouche.
17 Then the dragon was enraged with the woman and went away to make war on the rest of herchildren, who obey God's commandments and have in themselves the witness of Jesus.	17 Furieux contre la femme, le dragon est parti en guerre contre le reste de ses enfants, ceux qui observent les commandements de Dieu et gardent les déclarations de Jésus.
18 And I took my stand on the seashore.	18 Il s’est arrêté sur les sables du bord de mer.
