NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Once Ehud was dead, the Israelites again began doing what is evil in Yahweh's eyes,	1 Después que murió Ehúd, los israelitas volvieron a hacer lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor,
2 and Yahweh handed them over to Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned at Hazor. The commander of hisarmy was Sisera, who lived in Haroshet-ha-Goi m.	2 y él los entregó en manos de Iabín;, rey de Canaán, que reinaba en Jasor. El jefe de su ejército era Sísara, que vivía en Jaróset Ha Goím.

6 She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, 'Has not Yahweh, God ofIsrael, commanded, "Go! 7 I shall entice Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, to encounter you at the Torrent of Kishon with hischariots and troops; and I shal put him into your power"? '	7 Yo atraeré hacia ti, al torrente Quisón, a Sísara, Jefe del ejército de Iabín, con sus carros y sus tropas, y los pondré en tus manos».
8 Barak replied, 'If you come with me, I shall go; if you will not come, I shal not go, for I do not know howto choose the day when the angel of Yahweh will grant me success.'	8 Barac le respondió: «Si tú vienes conmigo, iré; pero si no vienes, no iré».
9 'I shall go with you then,' she said, 'but, the way you are going about it, the glory wil not be yours; forYahweh wil deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.' Deborah then stood up and went with Barak to Kedesh.	9 Ella le dijo: «Yo iré contigo; pero entonces la gloria de la campaña que vas a emprender no será para ti, porque el Señor pondrá a Sísara en manos de una mujer». 10 Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali. Ten thousand men marched behind him, and Deborah wentwith him.	10 y él convocó en Quédes a Zabulón y a Neftalí. Lo siguieron diez mil hombres, y también Débora subió con él.
11 Heber the Kenite had parted company with the tribe of Kain and with the sons of Hobab, father-in-lawof Moses; he had pitched his tent near the Oak of Zaanannim, not far from Kedesh.	11 Jéber, el quenita, se había separado de Caín, de los descendientes de Jobab, el suegro de Moisés, y había extendido su campamento hasta le encina de Saananím, cerca de Quédes.

13 Sisera summoned all his chariots -- nine hundred iron chariots -- and al the troops he had, fromHarosheth-ha-Goi m to the Torrent of Kishon.	13 aquel reunió todos sus carros de guerra –novecientos carros de hierro– y a toda la gente de que disponía, y los condujo desde Jaróset Ha Goím hasta el torrente de Quisón.
14 Deborah said to Barak, 'Up! For today is the day when Yahweh has put Sisera into your power. Is notYahweh marching at your head?' And Barak charged down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men behindhim.	14 Débora dijo a Barac: «Levántate, porque ha llegado el día en que el Señor pondrá en tus manos a Sísara. El Señor va delante de ti». Entonces Barac bajó del monte Tabor, al frente de los diez mil hombres,
15 At Barak's advance, Yahweh struck terror into Sisera, all his chariots and his entire army. Sisera leaptdown from his chariot and fled on foot.	15 y el Señor hizo que Sísara, todos sus carros y todo su ejército huyeran despavoridos delante de Barac. Sísara se bajó de su carro de guerra y huyó a pie.
16 Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth-ha-Goiim. Sisera's whole army fel bythe edge of the sword; not one man was spared.	16 Barac persiguió a los carros y al ejército hasta Jaróset Ha Goím, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó al filo de la espada. No quedó ni un solo sobreviviente.
17 Sisera meanwhile fled on foot towards the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite. For there waspeace between Jabin king of Hazor and the family of Heber the Kenite.	17 Mientras tanto, Sísara huyó a pie hasta la carpa de Jael, la esposa de Jéber, el quenita, porque Iabín, rey de Jasor, y el clan de Jéber, el quenita, estaban en buenas relaciones.
18 Jael came out to meet Sisera and said to him, 'Stay here, my lord, with me; do not be afraid!' Hestayed with her in her tent, and she covered him with a rug.	18 Jael le salió al encuentro y le dijo: «Ven, Señor mío, pasa por aquí. No temas». El entró en su carpa, y ella lo tapó con una manta.
19 He said to her, 'Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.' She opened the skin of milk,gave him some to drink and covered him up again.	19 El le dijo: «Por favor, dame un poco de agua, porque tengo sed». Ella abrió un recipiente donde había leche y le dio a beber. Luego lo volvió a cubrir.
20 Then he said to her, 'Stand at the tent door, and if anyone comes and questions you -- if he asks, "Isthere a man here?" say, "No." '	20 El le siguió diciendo: «Quédate a la entrada de la carpa, y si viene alguien y te pregunta: «¿Hay aquí algún hombre?, respóndele que no».
21 But Jael the wife of Heber took a tent-peg and picked up a mallet; she crept up softly to him and drovethe peg into his temple right through to the ground. He was lying fast asleep, worn out; and so he died.	21 Pero Jael, la esposa de Jéber, sacó una estaca de la carpa, tomó en su mano un martillo y, acercándose a él sigilosamente, le clavó la estaca en la sien, hasta hundirla en la tierra. Sísara estaba profundamente dormido, agotado por el cansancio. Cuando ya estaba muerto,
22 And now Barak came up in pursuit of Sisera. Jael went out to meet him and said, 'Come in, and I wilshow you the man you are looking for.' He went into her tent; and there was Sisera dead, with the tent-pegthrough his temple.	22 llegó Barac, que venía persiguiendo a Sísara. Jael le salió al encuentro y le dijo: «Ven y te mostraré al hombre que buscas». El entró junto con ella, y vio a Sísara que yacía muerto, con la estaca clavada en la sien.
23 Thus God that day humbled Jabin king of Canaan before the Israelites.	23 Así humilló Dios aquel día a Iabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los israelitas.
24 And the Israelites bore down more and more heavily on that king of Canaan, Jabin, until he was utterlydestroyed.	24 El dominio de los israelitas sobre Iabín, rey de Canaán, se fue haciendo cada vez más fuerte, hasta que lo exterminaron por completo.
