1 Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, to al those living as aliens in the Dispersion of Pontus, Galatia,Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen,	1 - Pietro apostolo di Gesù Cristo, agli eletti stranieri dispersi nel Ponto, nella Galazia, nella Cappadocia, nell'Asia e nella Bitinia [eletti]
2 in the foresight of God the Father, to be made holy by the Spirit, obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkledwith his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.	2 secondo la prescienza di Dio Padre, alla santificazione dello Spirito, a ubbidire a Gesù Cristo e ad essere aspersi dal sangue di Lui. La grazia e la pace vi sia moltiplicata.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy has given us a new birthinto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead	3 Benedetto [sia] Dio e Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale secondo la sua grande misericordia ci ha rigenerati ad una speranza più viva, mediante la risurrezione di Gesù Cristo da morte,
4 and into a heritage that can never be spoilt or soiled and never fade away. It is reserved in heaven foryou	4 ad un'eredità incorruttibile, purissima, inalterata, riservata nei cieli per voi,
5 who are being kept safe by God's power through faith until the salvation which has been prepared isrevealed at the final point of time.	5 i quali per virtù di Dio siete custoditi dalla fede per la salvezza, che è preparata per essere manifestata nell'ultimo tempo.
6 This is a great joy to you, even though for a short time yet you must bear all sorts of trials;	6 Di ciò voi esulterete, anche se ora sia necessario trovarsi per un poco afflitti da diverse prove:
7 so that the worth of your faith, more valuable than gold, which is perishable even if it has been tested byfire, may be proved -- to your praise and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.	7 affinchè la prova della vostra fede molto più preziosa dell'oro (che si prova col fuoco), sia trovata [degna di ] lode, di gloria e di onore nella manifestazione di Gesù Cristo,
8 You have not seen him, yet you love him; and stil without seeing him you believe in him and so arealready fil ed with a joy so glorious that it cannot be described;	8 che voi amate senza averlo mai veduto; nel quale anche ora credete, anche senza vederlo; e credendo esulterete di una letizia ineffabile e beata;
9 and you are sure of the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.	9 riportando il premio della vostra fede, la salvezza delle anime.
10 This salvation was the subject of the search and investigation of the prophets who spoke of the graceyou were to receive,	10 E di questa salvezza hanno fatto oggetto delle loro ricerche e delle loro indagini i profeti, i quali hanno predetto la grazia che doveva essere in voi.
11 searching out the time and circumstances for which the Spirit of Christ, bearing witness in them, wasrevealing the sufferings of Christ and the glories to fol ow them.	11 Essi hanno investigato a qual tempo e a qual segno mirasse lo Spirito di Cristo ch'era in loro, quando preannunziava le sofferenze [riserbate] a Cristo e la gloria che sarebbe seguita.
12 It was revealed to them that it was for your sake and not their own that they were acting as servantsdelivering the message which has now been announced to you by those who preached to you the gospelthrough the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even the angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.	12 E fu loro rivelato che essi non per sè, ma per voi dispensavan quelle cose, che ora vi sono state annunziate da coloro che vi hanno predicato il Vangelo, per lo Spirito Santo mandato dal cielo; cose nelle quali gli stessi angeli bramano penetrare con lo sguardo.
13 Your minds, then, must be sober and ready for action; put all your hope in the grace brought to you bythe revelation of Jesus Christ.	13 Perciò tenete cinti i lombi della vostra mente, siate sobrii e abbiate perfetta speranza nella grazia, che vi è offerta nella manifestazione di Gesù Cristo.
14 Do not al ow yourselves to be shaped by the passions of your old ignorance,	14 Come figli di ubbidienza, non conformatevi ai desiderii del passato, quando eravate nell'ignoranza;
15 but as obedient children, be yourselves holy in al your activity, after the model of the Holy One whocal s us,	15 ma, sull'esempio del Santo che v'ha chiamati, anche voi siate santi in tutto il vostro operare;
16 since scripture says, 'Be holy, for I am holy.'	16 poichè sta scritto: Siate santi, perchè io son santo .
17 And if you address as Father him who judges without favouritism according to each individual's deeds,live out the time of your exile here in reverent awe.	17 E se invocate come padre Colui che senza riguardi personali giudica ciascuno secondo le opere sue, vivete con timore nel tempo del vostro pellegrinaggio;
18 For you know that the price of your ransom from the futile way of life handed down from yourancestors was paid, not in anything perishable like silver or gold,	18 ben sapendo che non a prezzo di cose corruttibili, quali l'oro e l'argento, siete stati riscattati dal vano vostro modo di vivere tramandatovi dai padri,
19 but in precious blood as of a blameless and spotless lamb, Christ.	19 ma col prezioso sangue di Cristo, dell'Agnello immacolato e incontaminato,
20 He was marked out before the world was made, and was revealed at the final point of time for yoursake.	20 preordinato già prima della creazione del mondo, e manifestato in questi ultimi tempi per amore di voi,
21 Through him you now have faith in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory for thisvery purpose -- that your faith and hope should be in God.	21 che per mezzo di Lui credete in Dio, che lo ha risuscitato da morte e l'ha glorificato, affinchè voi avete a credere e sperare in Dio.
22 Since by your obedience to the truth you have purified yourselves so that you can experience thegenuine love of brothers, love each other intensely from the heart;	22 Purificando le anime vostre con l'obbedienza alla carità, con lo schietto amore dei fratelli, amatevi l'un l'altro con tutto il cuore, intensamente;
23 for your new birth was not from any perishable seed but from imperishable seed, the living andenduring Word of God.	23 rigenerati come siete non da seme corruttibile, ma incorruttibile mediante la parola di Dio vivo e che dura in eterno.
24 For al humanity is grass, and al its beauty like the wild flower's. As grass withers, the flower fades,	24 Perchè ogni carne è come erba e ogni suo splendore è come il fiore dell'erba; l'erba seccò e il fiore dell'erba cadde;
25 but the Word of the Lord remains for ever. And this Word is the Good News that has been brought toyou.	25 ma la parola del Signore dura in eterno. E questa è la parola che è stata annunziata a voi.
