1 Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, to al those living as aliens in the Dispersion of Pontus, Galatia,Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen,	1 Pietro Apostolo di Gesù Cristo, agli abitanti in paese straniero, dispersi pel Ponto, pella Galazia, Cappadocia, Asia, e Bitinia, eletti,
2 in the foresight of God the Father, to be made holy by the Spirit, obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkledwith his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.	2 Secondo la previsione di Dio Padre, alla santificazione dello Spirito, ad ubbidire a Gesù Cristo, e ad essere aspersi col sangue di lui: la grazia, e la pace a voi si moltipllchi.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy has given us a new birthinto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead	3 Benedetto Dio, Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale per sua misericordia grande ci ha rigenerati ad una viva speranza, mediante il risuscitamento di Gesù Cristo da morte,
4 and into a heritage that can never be spoilt or soiled and never fade away. It is reserved in heaven foryou	4 Ad una eredità incorruttibile, e incontaminata, e immarcescibile, riserbata ne' cieli per voi:
5 who are being kept safe by God's power through faith until the salvation which has been prepared isrevealed at the final point of time.	5 I quali per virtù di Dio siete custoditi dalla fede per la salute, la quale è preparata per essere manifestata nel tempo estremo.
6 This is a great joy to you, even though for a short time yet you must bear all sorts of trials;	6 Quando voi esulterete, se per un poco adesso vi conviene di essere afflitti con varie tentazioni:
7 so that the worth of your faith, more valuable than gold, which is perishable even if it has been tested byfire, may be proved -- to your praise and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.	7 Affinchè l'assaggio della vostra fede molto più prezioso dell'oro (il quale col fuoco si assaggia) sia trovato lodevole, e glorioso, ed orrevole, nella manifestazione di Gesù Cristo:
8 You have not seen him, yet you love him; and stil without seeing him you believe in him and so arealready fil ed with a joy so glorious that it cannot be described;	8 Cui voi amate, senza averlo veduto: nel quale anche adesso credete, senza vederlo, e credendo esulterete per un inesplicabile gaudio beato:
9 and you are sure of the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.	9 Riportando il fine della vostra fede, la salute dell'anime.
10 This salvation was the subject of the search and investigation of the prophets who spoke of the graceyou were to receive,	10 Della qual salute furono investigatori, e scrutatori i profeti, i quali predisser la grazia, che doveva essere in voi:
11 searching out the time and circumstances for which the Spirit of Christ, bearing witness in them, wasrevealing the sufferings of Christ and the glories to fol ow them.	11 Indagando questi il tempo, e la qualità del tempo significato da quello, che era in essi, Spirito di Cristo, predicente i patimenti di Cristo, e le glorie susseguenti:
12 It was revealed to them that it was for your sake and not their own that they were acting as servantsdelivering the message which has now been announced to you by those who preached to you the gospelthrough the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even the angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.	12 Ai quali fu rivelato, come eglino non per se, ma per voi erano ministri di quelle cose, le quali adesso sono state a voi annnnziate da quegli, i quali hanno, a voi predicato il Vangelo, sendo stato mandato dal cielo lo Spirito santo, nelle quali cose bramano gli Angeli di penetrar collo sguardo.
13 Your minds, then, must be sober and ready for action; put all your hope in the grace brought to you bythe revelation of Jesus Christ.	13 Per la qual cosa cinti i lombi della vostra mente, sobrj sperate interamente in quella grazia, che a voi è offerta nella manifestazione di Gesù Cristo:
14 Do not al ow yourselves to be shaped by the passions of your old ignorance,	14 Come figliuoli di ubbidienza, non conformandovi alle precedenti cupidità quando eravate nell'ignoranza:
15 but as obedient children, be yourselves holy in al your activity, after the model of the Holy One whocal s us,	15 Ma come quegli, che vi ha chiamati, è santo, voi pur siate santi in tutto il vostro operare:
16 since scripture says, 'Be holy, for I am holy.'	16 Dappoiché sta scritto: santi sarete voi, perché santo son io.
17 And if you address as Father him who judges without favouritism according to each individual's deeds,live out the time of your exile here in reverent awe.	17 E se padre chiamate lui, il quale senza acccttazione di persone giudica secondo le opere di ciascheduno, in timore vivete nel tempo del vostro pellegrinaggio.
18 For you know that the price of your ransom from the futile way of life handed down from yourancestors was paid, not in anything perishable like silver or gold,	18 Sapendo voi, come non a prezzo di cose corruttibili, di oro, o di argento siete stati riscattati dalla vana vostra maniera di vivere trasmessavi dai padri:
19 but in precious blood as of a blameless and spotless lamb, Christ.	19 Ma col sangue prezioso di Cristo come di agnello immacolato, e incontaminato:
20 He was marked out before the world was made, and was revealed at the final point of time for yoursake.	20 E preordinato prima della fondazione del mondo, manifestato poi negli ultimi tempi per voi,
21 Through him you now have faith in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory for thisvery purpose -- that your faith and hope should be in God.	21 I quali per mezzo di lui credete in Dio, il quale lo risuscitò da morte, e glorificollo, affinchè voi in Dio credeste, e speraste:
22 Since by your obedience to the truth you have purified yourselves so that you can experience thegenuine love of brothers, love each other intensely from the heart;	22 Purificando voi le anime vostre con l'ubbidienza di amore, con la schietta dilezione de' fratelli, amatevi di cuore intensamente l'un l'altro:
23 for your new birth was not from any perishable seed but from imperishable seed, the living andenduring Word of God.	23 Rigenerati essendo non di seme corruttibile, ma incorruttibile per la parola di Dio vivo, e la quale è in eterno:
24 For al humanity is grass, and al its beauty like the wild flower's. As grass withers, the flower fades,	24 Conciossiachè tutta la carne è fieno: e tutta la gloria di lei come fiore di fieno: il fieno seccò, e ne cascò il fiore.
25 but the Word of the Lord remains for ever. And this Word is the Good News that has been brought toyou.	25 Ma la parola del Signore dura in eterno: or questa è la parola, che è stata a voi annunziata.
