1 Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, to al those living as aliens in the Dispersion of Pontus, Galatia,Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen,	1 Pedro, apóstol de Jesucristo, a los que viven como extranjeros en la Dispersión: en el Ponto, Galacia, Capadocia, Asia y Bitinia, elegidos
2 in the foresight of God the Father, to be made holy by the Spirit, obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkledwith his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.	2 según el previo conocimiento de Dios Padre, con la acción santificadora del Espíritu, para obedecer a Jesucristo y ser rociados con su sangre. A vosotros gracia y paz abundantes.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy has given us a new birthinto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead	3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo quien, por su gran misericordia, mediante la Resurrección de Jesucristo de entre los muertos, nos ha reengendrado a una esperanza viva,
4 and into a heritage that can never be spoilt or soiled and never fade away. It is reserved in heaven foryou	4 a una herencia incorruptible, inmaculada e inmarcesible, reservada en los cielos para vosotros,
5 who are being kept safe by God's power through faith until the salvation which has been prepared isrevealed at the final point of time.	5 a quienes el poder de Dios, por medio de la fe, protege para la salvación, dispuesta ya a ser revelada en el último momento.
6 This is a great joy to you, even though for a short time yet you must bear all sorts of trials;	6 Por lo cual rebosáis de alegría, aunque sea preciso que todavía por algún tiempo seáis afligidos con diversas pruebas,
7 so that the worth of your faith, more valuable than gold, which is perishable even if it has been tested byfire, may be proved -- to your praise and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.	7 a fin de que la calidad probada de vuestra fe, más preciosa que el oro perecedero que es probado por el fuego, se convierta en motivo de alabanza, de gloria y de honor, en la Revelación de Jesucristo.
8 You have not seen him, yet you love him; and stil without seeing him you believe in him and so arealready fil ed with a joy so glorious that it cannot be described;	8 A quien amáis sin haberle visto; en quien creéis, aunque de momento no le veáis, rebosando de alegría inefable y gloriosa;
9 and you are sure of the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.	9 y alcanzáis la meta de vuestra fe, la salvación de las almas.
10 This salvation was the subject of the search and investigation of the prophets who spoke of the graceyou were to receive,	10 Sobre esta salvación investigaron e indagaron los profetas, que profetizaron sobre la gracia destinada a vosotros,
11 searching out the time and circumstances for which the Spirit of Christ, bearing witness in them, wasrevealing the sufferings of Christ and the glories to fol ow them.	11 procurando descubrir a qué tiempo y a qué circunstancias se refería el Espíritu de Cristo, que estaba en ellos, cuando les predecía los sufrimientos destinados a Cristo y las glorias que les seguirían.
12 It was revealed to them that it was for your sake and not their own that they were acting as servantsdelivering the message which has now been announced to you by those who preached to you the gospelthrough the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even the angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.	12 Les fue revelado que no administraban en beneficio propio sino en favor vuestro este mensaje que ahora os anuncian quienes os predican el Evangelio, en el Espíritu Santo enviado desde el cielo; mensaje que los ángeles ansían contemplar.
13 Your minds, then, must be sober and ready for action; put all your hope in the grace brought to you bythe revelation of Jesus Christ.	13 Por lo tanto, ceñíos los lomos de vuestro espíritu, sed sobrios, poned toda vuestra esperanza en la gracia que se os procurará mediante la Revelación de Jesucristo.
14 Do not al ow yourselves to be shaped by the passions of your old ignorance,	14 Como hijos obedientes, no os amoldéis a las apetencias de antes, del tiempo de vuestra ignorancia,
15 but as obedient children, be yourselves holy in al your activity, after the model of the Holy One whocal s us,	15 más bien, así como el que os ha llamado es santo, así también vosotros sed santos en toda vuestra conducta,
16 since scripture says, 'Be holy, for I am holy.'	16 como dice la Escritura: Seréis santos, porque santo soy yo.
17 And if you address as Father him who judges without favouritism according to each individual's deeds,live out the time of your exile here in reverent awe.	17 Y si llamáis Padre a quien, sin acepción de personas, juzga a cada cual según sus obras, conducíos con temor durante el tiempo de vuestro destierro,
18 For you know that the price of your ransom from the futile way of life handed down from yourancestors was paid, not in anything perishable like silver or gold,	18 sabiendo que habéis sido rescatados de la conducta necia heredada de vuestros padres, no con algo caduco, oro o plata,
19 but in precious blood as of a blameless and spotless lamb, Christ.	19 sino con una sangre preciosa, como de cordero sin tacha y sin mancilla, Cristo,
20 He was marked out before the world was made, and was revealed at the final point of time for yoursake.	20 predestinado antes de la creación del mundo y manifestado en los últimos tiempos a causa de vosotros;
21 Through him you now have faith in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory for thisvery purpose -- that your faith and hope should be in God.	21 los que por medio de él creéis en Dios, que le ha resucitado de entre los muertos y le ha dado la gloria, de modo que vuestra fe y vuestra esperanza estén en Dios.
22 Since by your obedience to the truth you have purified yourselves so that you can experience thegenuine love of brothers, love each other intensely from the heart;	22 Habéis purificado vuestras almas, obedeciendo a la verdad, para amaros los unos a los otros sinceramente como hermanos. Amaos intensamente unos a otros con corazón puro,
23 for your new birth was not from any perishable seed but from imperishable seed, the living andenduring Word of God.	23 pues habéis sido reengendrados de un germen no corruptible, sino incorruptible, por medio de la Palabra de Dios viva y permanente.
24 For al humanity is grass, and al its beauty like the wild flower's. As grass withers, the flower fades,	24 Pues toda carne es como hierba y todo su esplendor como flor de hierba; se seca la hierba y cae la flor;
25 but the Word of the Lord remains for ever. And this Word is the Good News that has been brought toyou.	25 pero la Palabra del Señor permanece eternamente. Y esta es la Palabra: la Buena Nueva anunciada a vosotros.
