1 The Spirit has explicitly said that during the last times some wil desert the faith and pay attention todeceitful spirits and doctrines that come from devils,	1 Ma lo spirito dice apertamente, che negli ultimi tempi alcuni apostateranno dalla fede, dando retta agli spiriti ingannatori, e alle dottrine dei demoni.
2 seduced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are branded as though with a red-hot iron:	2 Per ipocrisia dicendo la falsità, avendo la coscienza coperta di turpi marche,
3 they forbid marriage and prohibit foods which God created to be accepted with thanksgiving by all whobelieve and who know the truth.	3 Ordinando di non contrar matrimonio, di astenersi dai cibi creati da Dio, perché ne usassero con rendimento di grazie i fedeli, e quelli, che hanno conosciuta la verità.
4 Everything God has created is good, and no food is to be rejected, provided it is received withthanksgiving:	4 Dappoiché tutto quello, che Dio ha creato, è buono, e nulla è da rigettarsi, ove con rendimento di grazie si prenda:
5 the word of God and prayer make it holy.	5 Imperocché vien ad esser santificato per la parola di Dio, e pell' orazione.
6 If you put al this to the brothers, you wil be a good servant of Christ Jesus and show that you havereal y digested the teaching of the faith and the good doctrine which you have always fol owed.	6 Se tali cose proporrai a' fratelli, sarai buon ministro di Cristo Gesù, nudrito delle parole della fede, e della buona dottrina, nella quale tu sei versato.
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales. Train yourself for religion.	7 Ma le profane favole da vecchiarelle rigettale, ed esercitati nella pietà.
8 Physical exercise is useful enough, but the usefulness of religion is unlimited, since it holds out promiseboth for life here and now and for the life to come;	8 Imperocché l'esercizio del corpo serve a poco: ma è buona a tutto la pietà avente le promesse della vita di adesso, e della futura.
9 that is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt it.	9 Parola fedele, e sommamente accettevole.
10 I mean that the point of al our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God and heis the Saviour of the whole human race but particularly of al believers.	10 Imperocché per questo ci affatichiamo, e siamo maledetti, perché abbiamo speranza in Dio vivo, il quale è salvatore di tutti gli uomini, massimamente de' fedeli.
11 This is what you are to instruct and teach.	11 Annunzia, e insegna tali cose.
12 Let no one disregard you because you are young, but be an example to al the believers in the way youspeak and behave, and in your love, your faith and your purity.	12 Nissuno disprezzi la tua giovinezza: ma sii tu il modello de' fedeli nel parlare, nel conversare, nella carità, nella fede, nella castità.
13 Until I arrive, devote yourself to reading to the people, encouraging and teaching.	13 Fino a tanto che io venga attendi alla lettura, all'esortare, ed all'insegnare.
14 You have in you a spiritual gift which was given to you when the prophets spoke and the body of elderslaid their hands on you; do not neglect it.	14 Non trascurare la grazia, che è in te, la quale ti è stata, data per rivelazione, con l'imposizione delle mani del presbiterio.
15 Let this be your care and your occupation, and everyone wil be able to see your progress.	15 Queste cose medita, in queste sta' fisso, affinché sia manifesto a tutti il tuo avanzamento.
16 Be conscientious about what you do and what you teach; persevere in this, and in this way you wilsave both yourself and those who listen to you.	16 Attendi a te, ed all'insegnare: e in questo persevera. Imperocché ciò facendo, salverai te stesso, e quelli, che ti ascoltano.
