2 Corinthians 13

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 This wil be the third time I have confronted you. Whatever the misdemeanour, the evidence of two orthree witnesses is required to sustain a charge.	1 É esta a terceira vez que vou visitar-vos. Pelo depoimento de duas ou três testemunhas se resolve toda a questão.
2 I gave you notice once, and now, though I am not with you, I give notice again, just as when I was withyou for a second time, to those who sinned before, and to all others; and it is to this effect, that when I do comenext time, I shal have no mercy.	2 Quando de minha segunda visita, já adverti àqueles que pecaram, e hoje, que estou ausente, torno a repeti-lo a eles e aos demais: se eu for outra vez, não usarei de perdão!
3 Since you are asking for a proof that it is Christ who speaks in me; he is not weak with you but hispower is at work among you;	3 Simplesmente porque exigis a prova de que é Cristo que fala em mim. Ora, para convosco ele não é fraco, mas exerce o seu poder entre vós.
4 for, though it was out of weakness that he was crucified, he is alive now with the power of God. We,too, are weak in him, but with regard to you we shal live with him by the power of God.	4 É verdade que ele foi crucificado por fraqueza, mas está vivo pelo poder de Deus. Também nós somos fracos nele, mas com ele viveremos, pelo poder de Deus para atuar entre vós.
5 Put yourselves to the test to make sure you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Do you notrecognise yourselves as people in whom Jesus Christ is present? - unless, that is, you fail the test.	5 Examinai-vos a vós mesmos, se estais na fé. Provai-vos a vós mesmos. Acaso não reconheceis que Cristo Jesus está em vós? A menos que a prova vos seja, talvez, desfavorável.
6 But we, as I hope you wil come to recognise, do not fail the test.	6 Mas espero que reconhecereis que ela não é contra nós.
7 It is our prayer to God that you may do nothing wrong -- not so that we have the credit of passing atest, but because you wil be doing what is right, even if we do not pass the test.	7 Entretanto, rogamos a Deus que não façais mal algum, não para que pareçamos aprovados, mas para que vós façais o bem, embora nós sejamos tidos como reprovados.
8 We have no power to resist the truth; only to further the truth;	8 Contra a verdade não temos poder algum; temo-lo apenas em prol da verdade.
9 and we are delighted to be weak if only you are strong. What we ask in our prayers is that you shouldbe made perfect.	9 Alegramo-nos de ver-vos fortes, enquanto nós somos fracos. E até oramos por vossa perfeição.
10 That is why I am writing this while still far away, so that when I am with you I shal not have to beharsh, with the authority that the Lord has given me, an authority that is for building up and not for breakingdown.	10 Eis por que eu vos escrevo de longe para que, estando presente, não tenha que usar de rigor, em vista do poder que o Senhor me conferiu para edificar, e não para destruir.
11 To end then, brothers, we wish you joy; try to grow perfect; encourage one another; have a commonmind and live in peace, and the God of love and peace wil be with you.	11 Por fim, irmãos, vivei com alegria. Tendei à perfeição, animai-vos, tende um só coração, vivei em paz, e o Deus de amor e paz estará convosco.
12 Greet one another with the holy kiss. Al God's holy people send you their greetings.	12 Saudai-vos uns aos outros no ósculo santo.
13 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fel owship of the Holy Spirit be with youal .	13 Todos os santos vos saúdam.
	14 A graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, o amor de Deus e a comunhão do Espírito Santo estejam com todos vós!
