1 I wish you would put up with a little foolishness from me -- not that you don't do this already.	1 OH quanto desidererei che voi comportaste un poco la mia follia! ma sì, comportatemi.
2 The jealousy that I feel for you is, you see, God's own jealousy: I gave you all in marriage to a singlehusband, a virgin pure for presentation to Christ.	2 Poichè io son geloso di voi d’una gelosia di Dio; perciocchè io vi ho sposati ad un marito, per presentare una casta vergine a Cristo.
3 But I am afraid that, just as the snake with his cunning seduced Eve, your minds may be led astrayfrom single-minded devotion to Christ.	3 Ma io temo che come il serpente sedusse Eva, con la sua astuzia; così talora le vostre menti non sieno corrotte, e sviate dalla semplicità che deve essere inverso Cristo.
4 Because any chance comer has only to preach a Jesus other than the one we preached, or you haveonly to receive a spirit different from the one you received, or a gospel different from the one you accepted -- andyou put up with that only too wil ingly.	4 Perciocchè se uno viene a voi a predicarvi un altro Gesù che noi non abbiam predicato, o se voi da esso ricevete un altro Spirito che non avete ricevuto, o un vangelo diverso da quello che avete accettato; voi lo tollerate
5 Now, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to the super-apostles.	5 Or io stimo di non essere stato da niente meno di cotesti apostoli sommi.
6 Even if there is something lacking in my public speaking, this is not the case with my knowledge, aswe have openly shown to you at al times and before everyone.	6 Che se pur sono idiota nel parlare, non lo son già nella conoscenza; anzi, del tutto siamo stati manifestati presso voi in ogni cosa.
7 Have I done wrong, then, humbling myself so that you might be raised up, by preaching the gospel ofGod to you for nothing?	7 Ho io commesso peccato, in ciò che mi sono abbassato me stesso, acciocchè voi foste innalzati? inquanto che gratuitamente vi ho evangelizzato l’evangelo di Dio?
8 I was robbing other churches, taking wages from them in order to work for you.	8 Io ho predate le altre chiese, prendendo salario per servire a voi.
9 When I was with you and needed money, I was no burden to anybody, for the brothers fromMacedonia brought me as much as I needed when they came; I have always been careful not to let myself be aburden to you in any way, and I shall continue to be so.	9 Ed anche, essendo appresso di voi, ed avendo bisogno, non sono stato grave ad alcuno; perciocchè i fratelli, venuti di Macedonia, hanno supplito al mio bisogno; ed in ogni cosa mi son conservato senza esservi grave, ed anche per l’avvenire mi conserverò.
10 And as Christ's truth is in me, this boast of mine is not going to be silenced in the regions of Achaia.	10 La verità di Cristo è in me, che questo vanto non sarà turato in me nelle contrade dell’Acaia.
11 Why should it be? Because I do not love you? God knows that I do.	11 Perchè? forse perciocchè io non v’amo? Iddio lo sa.
12 I wil go on acting as I do at present, to cut the ground from under the feet of those who are lookingfor a chance to be proved my equals in grounds for boasting.	12 Anzi ciò che io fo, lo farò ancora, per toglier l’occasione a coloro che desiderano occasione; acciocchè in ciò che si gloriano sieno trovati quali noi ancora.
13 These people are counterfeit apostles, dishonest workers disguising themselves as apostles ofChrist.	13 Perciocchè tali falsi apostoli sono operai frodolenti, trasformandosi in apostoli di Cristo.
14 There is nothing astonishing in this; even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.	14 E non è maraviglia; perciocchè Satana stesso si trasforma in angelo di luce.
15 It is nothing extraordinary, then, when his servants disguise themselves as the servants ofuprightness. They wil come to the end appropriate to what they have done.	15 Ei non è dunque gran cosa, se i suoi ministri ancora si trasformano in ministri di giustizia; de’ quali la fine sarà secondo le loro opere
16 To repeat: let no one take me for a fool, but if you do, then treat me as a fool, so that I, too, can do alittle boasting.	16 IO lo dico di nuovo: Niuno mi stimi esser pazzo; se no, ricevetemi eziandio come pazzo; acciocchè io ancora mi glorii un poco.
17 I shal not be fol owing the Lord's way in what I say now, but wil be speaking out of foolishness in theconviction that I have something to boast about.	17 Ciò ch’io ragiono in questa ferma confidanza di vanto, non lo ragiono secondo il Signore, ma come in pazzia.
18 So many people boast on merely human grounds that I shal too.	18 Poichè molti si gloriano secondo la carne, io ancora mi glorierò.
19 I know how happy you are to put up with fools, being so wise yourselves;	19 Poichè voi, così savi, volentieri comportate i pazzi.
20 and how you wil still go on putting up with a man who enslaves you, eats up al you possess, keepsyou under his orders and sets himself above you, or even slaps you in the face.	20 Perciocchè, se alcuno vi riduce in servitù, se alcuno vi divora, se alcuno prende, se alcuno s’innalza, se alcuno vi percuote in sul volto, voi lo tollerate.
21 I say it to your shame; perhaps we have been too weak. Whatever bold claims anyone makes -- nowI am talking as a fool -- I can make them too.	21 Io lo dico a nostro vituperio, noi siamo stati deboli; e pure, in qualunque cosa alcuno si vanta, io lo dico in pazzia, mi vanto io ancora
22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So amI.	22 Sono eglino Ebrei? io ancora; sono eglino Israeliti? io ancora; sono eglino progenie di Abrahamo? io ancora.
23 Are they servants of Christ? I speak in utter fol y -- I am too, and more than they are: I have donemore work, I have been in prison more, I have been flogged more severely, many times exposed to death.	23 Sono eglino ministri di Cristo? io parlo da pazzo, io lo son più di loro; in travagli molto più; in battiture senza comparazione più; in prigioni molto più; in morti molte volte più.
24 Five times I have been given the thirty-nine lashes by the Jews;	24 Da’ Giudei ho ricevute cinque volte quaranta battiture meno una.
25 three times I have been beaten with sticks; once I was stoned; three times I have been shipwrecked,and once I have been in the open sea for a night and a day;	25 Io sono stato battuto di verghe tre volte, sono stato lapidato una volta, tre volte ho rotto in mare, ho passato un giorno ed una notte nell’abisso.
26 continual y travelling, I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from brigands, in danger from myown people and in danger from the gentiles, in danger in the towns and in danger in the open country, in dangerat sea and in danger from people masquerading as brothers;	26 Spesse volte sono stato in viaggi, in pericoli di fiumi, in pericoli di ladroni, in pericoli della mia nazione, in pericoli da’ Gentili, in pericoli in città, in pericoli in solitudine, in pericoli in mare, in pericoli fra falsi fratelli;
27 I have worked with unsparing energy, for many nights without sleep; I have been hungry and thirsty,and often altogether without food or drink; I have been cold and lacked clothing.	27 in fatica, e travaglio; sovente in veglie, in fame, ed in sete; in digiuni spesse volte; in freddo, e nudità.
28 And, besides all the external things, there is, day in day out, the pressure on me of my anxiety for althe churches.	28 Oltre alle cose che son di fuori, ciò che si solleva tuttodì contro a me, è la sollecitudine per tutte le chiese.
29 If anyone weakens, I am weakened as wel ; and when anyone is made to fal , I burn in agony myself.	29 Chi è debole, ch’io ancora non sia debole? chi è scandalezzato, ch’io non arda?
30 If I have to boast, I will boast of al the ways in which I am weak.	30 Se convien gloriarsi, io mi glorierò delle cose della mia debolezza.
31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus -- who is for ever to be blessed -- knows that I am not lying.	31 Iddio e Padre del nostro Signor Gesù Cristo, il quale è benedetto in eterno, sa ch’io non mento.
32 When I was in Damascus, the governor who was under King Aretas put guards round Damascus cityto catch me,	32 In Damasco, il governatore del re Areta avea poste guardie nella città de’ Damasceni, volendomi pigliare;
33 and I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and that was how I escaped from hishands.	33 ma io fui calato dal muro per una finestra, in una sporta; e così scampai dalle sue mani
