2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, by the wil of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, our brother, to the church of God inCorinth and to al God's holy people in the whole of Achaia.	1 - Paolo, apostolo di Cristo Gesù per volontà di Dio, e il fratello Timoteo alla Chiesa di Dio che è in Corinto con tutti i santi che sono nell'Acaia,
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 grazie a voi e pace da Dio Padre nostro e dal Signor Gesù Cristo!
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father and the God who givesevery possible encouragement;	3 Sia benedetto Iddio e Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il padre delle misericordie e il Dio di ogni consolazione,
4 he supports us in every hardship, so that we are able to come to the support of others, in everyhardship of theirs because of the encouragement that we ourselves receive from God.	4 il consolatore nostro in ogni nostra tribolazione, affinchè anche noi possiamo consolare gli altri in ogni afflizione, per via della consolazione onde noi siam confortati da Dio.
5 For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow into our lives; so too does the encouragement we receive through Christ.	5 Giacchè, come traboccano su noi i patimenti di Cristo, così per Cristo sovrabbonda la nostra consolazione.
6 So if we have hardships to undergo, this wil contribute to your encouragement and your salvation; if wereceive encouragement, this is to gain for you the encouragement which enables you to bear with perseverancethe same sufferings as we do.	6 E se siamo tribolati, è per consolazione e salvezza vostra; se siam consolati, è per la vostra consolazione, la quale mostra la sua efficacia nel farvi sopportare gli stessi patimenti che sopportiamo noi.
7 So our hope for you is secure in the knowledge that you share the encouragement we receive, no lessthan the sufferings we bear.	7 E salda è la nostra speranza su di voi, sapendo che come siete partecipi dei patimenti così anche della consolazione.
8 So in the hardships we underwent in Asia, we want you to be quite certain, brothers, that we wereunder extraordinary pressure, beyond our powers of endurance, so that we gave up al hope even of surviving.	8 Non vogliamo ignoriate, o fratelli, rispetto alla nostra tribolazione subita in Asia, che siamo stati oltre misura e sopra le nostre forze aggravati, tanto da essere anche stanchi della vita.
9 In fact we were carrying the sentence of death within our own selves, so that we should be forced totrust not in ourselves but in God, who raises the dead.	9 Anzi in noi stessi abbiamo avuto come un responso di morte, e ciò perchè non ponessimo fiducia in noi stessi ma nel Dio che risuscita i morti.
10 He did save us from such a death and will save us -- we are relying on him to do so.	10 Il quale ci ha liberati da sì gravi pericoli, e ci libera, e in lui speriamo che ancora dell'altro ci libererà,
11 Your prayer for us wil contribute to this, so that, for God's favour shown to us as the result of theprayers of so many, thanks too may be given by many on our behalf.	11 cooperando anche voi a favor nostro colla preghiera, affinchè il dono a noi concesso a mezzo di molte persone sia per molti oggetto di ringraziamento a riguardo nostro.
12 There is one thing that we are proud of, namely our conscientious conviction that we have alwaysbehaved towards everyone, and especial y towards you, with that unal oyed holiness that comes from God,relying not on human reasoning but on the grace of God.	12 Poichè questo è il nostro vanto, la testimonianza della nostra coscienza, che in semplicità di cuore e genuino pensiero di Dio ci siam comportati nel mondo: non in sapienza carnale ma nella grazia di Dio, specialmente a rispetto di voi;
13 In our writing, there is nothing that you cannot read clearly and understand;	13 giacchè non altro a voi scriviamo se non quello che già avete avuto occasione di leggere e di riconoscere, e spero riconoscerete sino alla fine
14 and it is my hope that, just as you have already understood us partial y, so you wil understand fullythat you can be as proud of us as we shal be of you when the Day of our Lord Jesus comes.	14 come parzialmente avete già riconosciuto, che noi siamo il vostro vanto come voi il nostro pel giorno del Signore nostro Gesù.
15 It was with this assurance that I had been meaning to come to you first, so that you would benefitdoubly;	15 E in questa fiducia volevo prima venir da voi, affinchè aveste una seconda grazia;
16 both to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and then to return to you again from Macedonia, so thatyou could set me on my way to Judaea.	16 e attraverso il vostro paese poi passar nella Macedonia, e di nuovo di là tornar da voi, per fare coi vostri auguri il viaggio verso la Giudea.
17 Since that was my purpose, do you think I lightly changed my mind? Or that my plans are based onordinary human promptings and I have in my mind Yes, yes at the same time as No, no?	17 Avendo questa intenzione, forse che ho agito con leggerezza? forse che ciò che voglio lo voglio secondo la carne in modo che sia in me il «sì» e il «no»?
18 As surely as God is trustworthy, what we say to you is not both Yes and No.	18 Ma Iddio, fedele è testimone che il nostro parlare con voi non è ora «sì», ora «no»!
19 The Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us, that is, by me and by Silvanus andTimothy, was never Yes-and-No; his nature is al Yes.	19 Gli è che il Figlio di Dio, Cristo Gesù, annunziato a voi per mezzo nostro, cioè per opera mia, di Silvano e di Timoteo, non era or «sì» or «no»; ma il «sì» fu in Lui;
20 For in him is found the Yes to al God's promises and therefore it is 'through him' that we answer'Amen' to give praise to God.	20 poichè quante sono le promesse di Dio, in Lui sono il «sì», e però anche per opera di Lui è l'«Amen» che per noi si dice a Dio a titolo di gloria.
21 It is God who gives us, with you, a sure place in Christ	21 Or chi ci conferma con voi in Cristo e che ci ha unto è Dio,
22 and has both anointed us and marked us with his seal, giving us as pledge the Spirit in our hearts.	22 il quale ha anche impresso su noi l'impronta del suo sigillo, e ci ha dato la caparra dello spirito nei nostri cuori.
23 By my life I cal on God to be my witness that it was only to spare you that I did not come to Corinthagain.	23 E io chiamo Dio a testimone sull'anima mia, che gli è per risparmiarvi ch'io non son venuto più a Corinto. Non che noi vogliamo signoreggiare sulla vostra fede, ma siamo cooperatori della vostra allegrezza, perchè voi nella fede state saldi.
24 We have no wish to lord it over your faith, but to work with you for your joy; for your stand in the faith isfirm.
