Deuteronomy 26

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 'When you have entered the country which Yahweh your God is giving you as heritage, when youhave taken possession of it and are living in it,	1 Cuando entres en la tierra que el Señor, tu Dios, te da en herencia, cuando tomes posesión de ella y te establezcas allí,
2 you must set aside the first-fruits of al the produce of the soil raised by you in your country, given youby Yahweh your God. You must put these in a basket and go to the place where Yahweh your God chooses togive his name a home.	2 recogerás las primicias de todos los frutos que extraigas de la tierra que te da el Señor, tu Dios, las pondrás en una canasta, y las llevarás al lugar elegido por el Señor, tu Dios, para constituirlo morada de su Nombre.
3 You wil go to the priest then in office and say to him, "Today I declare to Yahweh my God that I havereached the country which Yahweh swore to our ancestors that he would give us."	3 Entonces te presentarás al sacerdote que esté en funciones en aquellos días, y le dirás: «Yo declaro hoy ante el Señor, tu Dios, que he llegado a la tierra que él nos dio, porque así lo había jurado a nuestros padres».
4 'The priest will then take the basket from your hand and lay it before the altar of Yahweh your God.	4 El sacerdote tomará la canasta que tú le entregues, la depositará ante el altar,
5 In the presence of Yahweh your God, you will then pronounce these words: "My father was awandering Aramaean, who went down to Egypt with a smal group of men, and stayed there, until he therebecame a great, powerful and numerous nation.	5 y tú pronunciarás estas palabras en presencia del Señor, tu Dios. «Mi padre era un arameo errante que bajó a Egipto y se refugió allí con unos pocos hombres, pero luego se convirtió en una nación grande, fuerte y numerosa.
6 The Egyptians ill-treated us, they oppressed us and inflicted harsh slavery on us.	6 Los egipcios nos maltrataron, nos oprimieron y nos impusieron una dura servidumbre.
7 But we called on Yahweh, God of our ancestors. Yahweh heard our voice and saw our misery, our toiland our oppression;	7 Entonces pedimos auxilio al Señor, el Dios de nuestros padres, y él escuchó nuestra voz. El vio nuestra miseria. nuestro cansancio y nuestra opresión.
8 and Yahweh brought us out of Egypt with mighty hand and outstretched arm, with great terror, andwith signs and wonders.	8 y nos hizo salir de Egipto con el poder de su mano y la fuerza de su brazo, en medio de un gran terror, de signos y prodigios.
9 He brought us here and has given us this country, a country flowing with milk and honey.	9 El nos trajo a este lugar y nos dio esta tierra que mana leche y miel.
10 Hence, I now bring the first-fruits of the soil that you, Yahweh, have given me." 'You wil then laythem before Yahweh your God, and prostrate yourself in the presence of Yahweh your God.	10 Por eso ofrezco ahora las primicias de los frutos del suelo que tú, Señor, me diste». Tú depositarás las primicias ante el Señor, tu Dios, y te postrarás ante el Señor, tu Dios, y te postrarás delante de él.
11 You must then rejoice in al the good things that Yahweh your God has bestowed on you and yourfamily-you, the Levite and the foreigner living with you.	11 Luego te regocijarás por todos los bienes que él te concede, a ti y a tu casa, y también se alegrarán el levita y el extranjero que viven contigo.
12 'In the third year, the tithing year, when you have finished taking the tithe of your whole income andhave given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow so that, in your towns, they may eat to theirheart's content,	12 El tercer año, el año del diezmo, cuando tomes la décima parte de tus cosechas y se la des al levita, al extranjero, al huérfano y a la viuda, a fin de que ellos puedan comer en tus ciudades hasta saciarse.
13 in the presence of Yahweh your God, you must say: "I have cleared my house of what wasconsecrated. Yes, I have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan and the widow, in accordance with althe commandments you have imposed on me, neither going beyond your commandments nor neglecting them.	13 dirás en presencia del Señor, tu Dios: «Yo saqué de mi casa lo que debía ser consagrado, y se lo di al levita, al extranjero, al huérfano y a la viuda, conforme al mandamiento que tú me diste, sin quebrantar ni olvidar ninguno de tus preceptos.
14 When in mourning, I have not eaten any of it; when unclean, I have taken none of it away; I havegiven none of it for the dead. I have obeyed the voice of Yahweh my God and I have behaved in every way asyou have commanded me.	14 No comí nada de eso estando de duelo, no consumí nada en estado de impureza, ni lo ofrecí como alimento a un muerto. Obedecí la voz del Señor, mi Dios, y obre en todo según lo que tú me ordenaste.
15 Look down from your holy dwel ing, from heaven, and bless your people Israel and the country which you have given us, as you swore to our ancestors, a country flowing with milk and honey." '	15 Inclínate desde tu santa morada, desde lo alto del cielo, y bendice a tu pueblo Israel y a la tierra que nos diste –esa tierra que mana leche y miel– como lo habías jurado a nuestros padres».
16 'Yahweh your God commands you today to observe these laws and customs; you must keep andobserve them with al your heart and with al your soul.	16 Hoy el Señor, tu Dios, te ordena practicar estos preceptos y estas leyes. Obsérvalas y practícalas y estas leyes. Obsérvalas y practícalas con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.
17 'Today you have obtained this declaration from Yahweh: that he wil be your God, but only if youfol ow his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, his customs, and listen to his voice.	17 Hoy tú le has hecho declarar al Señor que él será tu Dios, y que tú, por tu parte, seguirás sus caminos, observarás sus preceptos, sus mandamientos y sus leyes, y escucharás su voz.
18 And today Yahweh has obtained this declaration from you: that you will be his own people -- as hehas said -- but only if you keep all his commandments;	18 Y el Señor hoy te ha hecho declarar que tú serás el pueblo de su propiedad exclusiva, como él te lo ha prometido, y que tú observarás todos sus mandamientos;
19 then for praise and renown and honour, he wil raise you higher than every other nation he hasmade, and you wil be a people consecrated to Yahweh, as he has promised.'	19 que te hará superior –en estima, en renombre y en gloria– a todas las naciones que hizo; y que serás un pueblo consagrado al Señor, como él te lo ha prometido.
