Deuteronomy 14

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 'You are children of Yahweh your God. You must not gash yourselves or shave your foreheads for thedead.	1 Voi siete figli per il Signore vostro Dio. Non vi farete incisioni, né vi raderete tra gli occhi per un morto.
2 For you are a people consecrated to Yahweh your God, and Yahweh has chosen you to be his ownpeople from al the peoples on the earth.	2 Perché tu sei un popolo santo per il Signore tuo Dio, il quale ti ha scelto fra tutti i popoli che sono sulla faccia della terra, affinché sia un popolo particolarmente suo.
3 'You must not eat anything disgusting.	3 Non mangerete nessuna abominazione.
4 These are the animals you may eat: ox, sheep, goat,	4 Questi sono gli animali che mangerete: bue, pecora, capra,
5 deer, gazel e, roebuck, ibex, antelope, oryx, mountain sheep.	5 cervo, gazzella, daino, stambecco, antilope, bufalo, camoscio;
6 You may eat any animal that has a divided and cloven hoof and that is a ruminant.	6 mangerete ogni animale che ha lo zoccolo spaccato e diviso in due unghie, e che rumina.
7 Of those, however, that are ruminants and of those that have a divided and cloven hoof you may noteat the fol owing: the camel, the hare and the coney, which are ruminants but have no cloven hoof; you mustclass them as unclean.	7 Ma fra i ruminanti e tra quelli che hanno lo zoccolo spaccato e diviso, non mangerete il cammello, la lepre e l'irace, perché ruminano ma non hanno lo zoccolo spaccato. Per voi essi sono animali impuri.
8 So also the pig, which though it has a cloven hoof is not a ruminant; you must class it as unclean. Youmust neither eat the meat of such animals nor touch their dead bodies.	8 Anche il porco che, sebbene abbia lo zoccolo spaccato, non rumina, per voi è impuro. Non mangerete le loro carni e non toccherete i loro cadaveri.
9 'Of whatever lives in water you may eat the fol owing: you may eat anything that has fins and scales.	9 Tra tutti gli esseri che sono nell'acqua, mangerete di tutti quelli che hanno pinne e squame;
10 But you must not eat anything without fins and scales: you must class it as unclean.	10 ma non mangerete nessuno di quelli che non hanno pinne né squame. Per voi essi sono impuri.
11 'You may eat al clean birds,	11 Mangerete di ogni specie di uccelli puri,
12 but the fol owing birds you must not eat: the tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	12 ma non mangerete di queste specie: l'aquila, l'ossifraga, la strige,
13 the kite and the several kinds of buzzard,	13 il nibbio e ogni specie di astori;
14 al kinds of raven,	14 ogni specie di corvi;
15 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the several kinds of hawk,	15 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, tutti gli sparvieri,
16 owl, barn owl, ibis,	16 il gufo, l'ibis, il cigno,
17 pelican, white vulture, cormorant,	17 il pellicano, il martin pescatore, la folaga,
18 stork, the several kinds of heron, hoopoe and bat.	18 la cicogna, le varie specie di aironi, l'upupa, il pipistrello.
19 You are to class al winged insects as unclean and must not eat them.	19 Considererete immondi gli insetti alati: non ne mangerete.
20 You may eat any clean fowl.	20 Mangerete ogni volatile puro.
21 'You must not eat any animal that has died a natural death. You may give it to a resident foreigner toeat, or sel it to a foreigner. For you are a people consecrated to Yahweh your God. 'You must not boil a kid in itsmother's milk.	21 Non mangerete di alcun animale che sia morto di morte naturale: lo darai al forestiero che è tra le tue porte ed egli lo mangerà, o lo venderai a uno straniero, perché tu sei un popolo santo per il Signore tuo Dio. Non farai cuocere un capretto nel latte di sua madre.
22 'Every year, you must take a tithe of what your fields produce from what you have sown	22 Prenderai la decima di ogni prodotto della tua semente che cresce nei campi, ogni anno,
23 and, in the presence of Yahweh your God, in the place where he chooses to give his name a home,you must eat the tithe of your wheat, of your new wine and of your oil, and the first-born of your herd and flock;and by so doing, you wil learn always to fear Yahweh your God.	23 e la mangerai al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio nel luogo nel quale sceglierà di far dimorare il suo nome: la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto, del tuo olio, i primogeniti del tuo bestiame grosso e minuto, affinché tu impari a temere il Signore tuo Dio ogni giorno.
24 'If the road is too long for you, if you cannot bring your tithe because the place in which Yahwehchooses to make a home for his name is too far away, when Yahweh your God has blessed you,	24 Se troppo lungo è per te il cammino e tu non puoi trasportare la decima, perché è troppo distante da te il luogo dove il Signore tuo Dio ha scelto di porre il suo nome, perché il Signore tuo Dio ti avrà benedetto,
25 you must convert it into money and, with the money clasped in your hand, you must go to the placechosen by Yahweh your God;	25 la cambierai in denaro, stringerai il denaro nella mano e andrai al luogo scelto dal Signore tuo Dio
26 there you may spend the money on whatever you like, oxen, sheep, wine, fermented liquor, anythingyou please. There you must eat in the presence of Yahweh your God and rejoice, you and your household.	26 e là cambierai il denaro in tutto ciò che tu desideri: in bestiame grosso o minuto, in vino, in bevanda inebriante e in quanto richiede la tua gola, lo mangerai là al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio e ti rallegrerai tu e la tua casa.
27 Do not neglect the Levite living in your community, since he has no share or heritage of his ownamong you.	27 Il levita che è fra le tue porte non lo trascurare, perché non ha né parte né eredità con te.
28 'At the end of every three years, you must take al the tithes of your harvests for that year and col ectthem in your community.	28 Al termine di tre anni porterai ogni decima dei tuoi prodotti e la deporrai alle porte della tua città:
29 Then the Levite -- since he has no share or heritage of his own among you -- the foreigner, theorphan and the widow living in your community, wil come and eat all they want. And so Yahweh your God wilbless you in al the labours that you undertake.'	29 verranno il levita, che non ha né parte né eredità con te, il forestiero, l'orfano e la vedova che si trovano entro le tue porte, ne mangeranno e si sazieranno. Perché il Signore tuo Dio ti benedica in ogni opera delle tue mani, che tu farai.
