Malachi 3

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 'Look, I shal send my messenger to clear a way before me. And suddenly the Lord whom you seek wilcome to his Temple; yes, the angel of the covenant, for whom you long, is on his way, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	1 Ecco, invio il mio messaggero; egli preparerà la via davanti a me. Subito entrerà nel suo santuario il Signore che voi cercate; l'angelo dell'alleanza che voi desiderate, eccolo venire, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
2 Who will be able to resist the day of his coming? Who wil remain standing when he appears? For hewil be like a refiner's fire, like ful ers' alkali.	2 Chi sosterrà il giorno della sua venuta? Chi resisterà al suo apparire? Egli è come il fuoco del fonditore e come la soda dei lavandai.
3 He wil take his seat as refiner and purifier; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold andsilver, so that they can make the offering to Yahweh with uprightness.	3 Egli siederà a mondare e a purificare. Purificherà i figli di Levi; li colerà come l'oro e come l'argento, cosicché saranno per il Signore coloro che offrono un'oblazione secondo giustizia.
4 The offering of Judah and Jerusalem wil then be acceptable to Yahweh as in former days, as in theyears of old.	4 Allora piacerà al Signore l'offerta di Giuda e di Gerusalemme come nei tempi remoti, come negli anni lontani!
5 I am coming to put you on trial and I shal be a ready witness against sorcerers, adulterers, perjurers,and against those who oppress the wage-earner, the widow and the orphan, and who rob the foreigner of hisrights and do not respect me, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	5 Vi verrò incontro per il giudizio, e sarò un testimone pronto contro gli indovini, contro gli adùlteri, contro quelli che giurano il falso, contro chi trattiene la mercede all'operaio, contro chi opprime vedova, orfano, forestiero, perché essi non mi temono, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
6 'No; I, Yahweh, do not change; and you have not ceased to be children of Jacob!	6 Sì, io sono il Signore e non muto, e voi siete figli di Giacobbe e non cambiate.
7 Ever since the days of your ancestors, you have evaded my statutes and not observed them. Return tome and I will return to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth. You ask, "How are we to return?	7 Dai giorni dei vostri padri vi allontanate dai miei precetti e non li osservate! Ritornate a me e ritornerò a voi, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
8 Can a human being cheat God?" Yet you try to cheat me! You ask, "How do we try to cheat you?" Overtithes and contributions.	8 Può l'uomo ingannare Dio? Sì, voi m'ingannate! E domandate: "In che t'inganniamo?". Nella decima e nell'offerta!
9 A curse lies on you because you, this whole nation, try to cheat me.	9 Voi siete sotto la maledizione e m'ingannate, popolo tutto!
10 Bring the tithes in ful to the treasury, so that there is food in my house; put me to the test now like this,says Yahweh Sabaoth, and see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven for you and pour out an abundantblessing for you.	10 Portate la decima intera nella stanza del tesoro, perché ci sia cibo nella mia casa, e così mettetemi alla prova, dice il Signore degli eserciti, se io non vi aprirò le cataratte del cielo e non spanderò su voi la benedizione sopra ogni misura.
11 For your sakes, I shal forbid the locust to destroy the produce of your soil or prevent the vine frombearing fruit in your field, says Yahweh Sabaoth,	11 Ordinerò per voi al roditore di non distruggervi il frutto del suolo, e non sia sterile la vostra vigna nei campi, dice il Signore degli eserciti!
12 and all the nations wil cal you blessed, for you wil be a land of delights, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	12 Vi proclameranno beati tutte le nazioni perché sarete una terra di delizie, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
13 'You have said harsh things about me, says Yahweh. And yet you say, "What have we said againstyou?"	13 Sono duri i vostri discorsi contro di me, dice il Signore degli eserciti. E voi domandate: "Che abbiamo detto contro di te?".
14 You have said, "It is useless to serve God; what is the good of keeping his commands or of walkingmournful y before Yahweh Sabaoth?	14 Voi dite: "E' vano servire Dio: che profitto c'è nell'osservare i suoi precetti, marciare in lutto davanti al Signore degli eserciti?
15 In fact, we now cal the proud the happy ones; the evil-doers are the ones who prosper; they put Godto the test, yet come to no harm!" '	15 Dobbiamo piuttosto proclamare beati gli arroganti: prosperano coloro che fanno il male, tentano Dio, eppure la scampano!".
16 Then those who feared Yahweh talked to one another about this, and Yahweh took note and listened;and a book of remembrance was written in his presence recording those who feared him and kept his name inmind.	16 Così dicevano quelli che temono il Signore, ciascuno al suo vicino. Ma il Signore ha inteso e ascoltato; fu scritto un memoriale al suo cospetto per coloro che lo temono e onorano il suo nome.
17 'On the day when I act, says Yahweh Sabaoth, they will be my most prized possession, and I shalspare them in the way a man spares the son who serves him.	17 Saranno per me, dice il Signore degli eserciti, speciale proprietà per il giorno che preparo. Avrò compassione di loro come il padre ha compassione del figlio che lo serve.
18 Then once again you wil see the difference between the upright person and the wicked one, betweenthe one who serves God and the one who does not serve him.	18 Distinguerete allora tra il giusto e l'empio, tra chi serve Dio e chi non lo serve.
19 'For look, the Day is coming, glowing like a furnace. Al the proud and al the evil-doers wil be thestubble, and the Day, when it comes, wil set them ablaze, says Yahweh Sabaoth, leaving them neither root norbranch.	19 Sì, ecco il giorno arriva, incandescente come una fornace. Tutti gli arroganti e tutti i malvagi saranno stoppia. Li incendierà il giorno che arriva, dice il Signore degli eserciti, cosicché non resti loro radice e germoglio.
20 But for you who fear my name, the Sun of justice wil rise with healing in his rays, and you wil comeout leaping like calves from the stal ,	20 Per voi che temete il mio nome spunterà il sole di giustizia, con raggi radiosi. Allora voi uscirete saltellando, come giovenchi dalla stalla!
21 and trample on the wicked, who will be like ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,says Yahweh Sabaoth.	21 Calpesterete gli empi; saranno cenere sotto la pianta dei vostri piedi, nel giorno che io preparo, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
22 'Remember the Law of my servant Moses to whom at Horeb I prescribed decrees and rulings for alIsrael.	22 Ricordatevi della legge di Mosè, mio servo, che io gli consegnai sull'Oreb per tutto Israele: leggi e precetti.
23 'Look, I shal send you the prophet Elijah before the great and awesome Day of Yahweh comes.	23 Ecco, io vi invio Elia il profeta, prima che venga il giorno del Signore, grande e spaventoso!
24 He will reconcile parents to their children and children to their parents, to forestal my putting thecountry under the curse of destruction.'	24 Egli ricondurrà il cuore dei padri ai figli e il cuore dei figli ai padri, affinché io non venga a colpire il paese con lo sterminio!
