Malachi 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 'Look, I shal send my messenger to clear a way before me. And suddenly the Lord whom you seek wilcome to his Temple; yes, the angel of the covenant, for whom you long, is on his way, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	1 He aquí que yo envío a mi mensajero a allanar el camino delante de mí, y enseguida vendrá a su Templo el Señor a quien vosotros buscáis; y el Angel de la alianza, que vosotros deseáis, he aquí que viene, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
2 Who will be able to resist the day of his coming? Who wil remain standing when he appears? For hewil be like a refiner's fire, like ful ers' alkali.	2 ¿Quién podrá soportar el Día de su venida? ¿Quién se tendrá en pie cuando aparezca? Porque es él como fuego de fundidor y como lejía de lavandero.
3 He wil take his seat as refiner and purifier; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold andsilver, so that they can make the offering to Yahweh with uprightness.	3 Se sentará para fundir y purgar. Purificará a los hijos de Leví y los acrisolará como el oro y la plata; y serán para Yahveh los que presentan la oblación en justicia.
4 The offering of Judah and Jerusalem wil then be acceptable to Yahweh as in former days, as in theyears of old.	4 Entonces será grata a Yahveh la oblación de Judá y de Jerusalén, como en los días de antaño, como en los años antiguos.
5 I am coming to put you on trial and I shal be a ready witness against sorcerers, adulterers, perjurers,and against those who oppress the wage-earner, the widow and the orphan, and who rob the foreigner of hisrights and do not respect me, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	5 Yo me acercaré a vosotros para el juicio, y seré un testigo expeditivo contra los hechiceros y contra los adúlteros, contra los que juran con mentira, contra los que oprimen al jornalero, a la viuda y al huérfano, contra los que hacen agravio al forastero sin ningún temor de mí, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
6 'No; I, Yahweh, do not change; and you have not ceased to be children of Jacob!	6 Que yo, Yahveh, no cambio, y vosotros, hijos de Jacob, no termináis nunca.
7 Ever since the days of your ancestors, you have evaded my statutes and not observed them. Return tome and I will return to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth. You ask, "How are we to return?	7 Desde los días de vuestros padres venís apartándoos de mis preceptos y no los observáis. Volveos a mí y yo me volveré a vosotros, dice Yahveh Sebaot. - Decís: ¿En qué hemos de volver? -
8 Can a human being cheat God?" Yet you try to cheat me! You ask, "How do we try to cheat you?" Overtithes and contributions.	8 ¿Puede un hombre defraudar a Dios? ¡Pues vosotros me defraudáis a mí! - Y aún decís: ¿En qué te hemos defraudado? - En el diezmo y en la ofrenda reservada.
9 A curse lies on you because you, this whole nation, try to cheat me.	9 De maldición estáis malditos, porque me defraudáis a mí vosotros, la nación entera.
10 Bring the tithes in ful to the treasury, so that there is food in my house; put me to the test now like this,says Yahweh Sabaoth, and see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven for you and pour out an abundantblessing for you.	10 Llevad el diezmo íntegro a la casa del tesoro, para que haya alimento en mi Casa; y ponedme así a prueba, dice Yahveh Sebaot, a ver si no os abro las esclusas del cielo y no vacío sobre vosotros la bendición hasta que ya no quede,
11 For your sakes, I shal forbid the locust to destroy the produce of your soil or prevent the vine frombearing fruit in your field, says Yahweh Sabaoth,	11 y no ahuyento de vosotros al devorador, para que no os destruya el fruto del suelo y no se os quede estéril la viña en el campo, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
12 and all the nations wil cal you blessed, for you wil be a land of delights, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	12 Todas las naciones os felicitarán entonces, porque seréis una tierra de delicias, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
13 'You have said harsh things about me, says Yahweh. And yet you say, "What have we said againstyou?"	13 Duras me resultan vuestras palabras, dice Yahveh. - Y todavía decís: ¿Qué hemos dicho contra ti? -
14 You have said, "It is useless to serve God; what is the good of keeping his commands or of walkingmournful y before Yahweh Sabaoth?	14 Habéis dicho: Cosa vana es servir a Dios; ¿qué ganamos con guardar su mandamiento o con andar en duelo ante Yahveh Sebaot?
15 In fact, we now cal the proud the happy ones; the evil-doers are the ones who prosper; they put Godto the test, yet come to no harm!" '	15 Más bien, llamamos felices a los arrogantes: aun haciendo el mal prosperan, y aun tentando a Dios escapan libres.
16 Then those who feared Yahweh talked to one another about this, and Yahweh took note and listened;and a book of remembrance was written in his presence recording those who feared him and kept his name inmind.	16 Entonces los que temen a Yahveh se hablaron unos a otros. Y puso atención Yahveh y oyó; y se escribió ante él un libro memorial en favor de los que temen a Yahveh y piensan en su Nombre.
17 'On the day when I act, says Yahweh Sabaoth, they will be my most prized possession, and I shalspare them in the way a man spares the son who serves him.	17 Serán ellos para mí, dice Yahveh Sebaot, en el día que yo preparo, propiedad personal; y yo seré indulgente con ellos como es indulgente un padre con el hijo que le sirve.
18 Then once again you wil see the difference between the upright person and the wicked one, betweenthe one who serves God and the one who does not serve him.	18 Entonces vosotros volveréis a distinguir entre el justo y el impío, entre quien sirve a Dios y quien no le sirve.
19 'For look, the Day is coming, glowing like a furnace. Al the proud and al the evil-doers wil be thestubble, and the Day, when it comes, wil set them ablaze, says Yahweh Sabaoth, leaving them neither root norbranch.	19 Pues he aquí que viene el Día, abrasador como un horno; todos los arrogantes y los que cometen impiedad serán como paja; y los consumirá el Día que viene, dice Yahveh Sebaot, hasta no dejarles raíz ni rama.
20 But for you who fear my name, the Sun of justice wil rise with healing in his rays, and you wil comeout leaping like calves from the stal ,	20 Pero para vosotros, los que teméis mi Nombre, brillará el sol de justicia con la salud en sus rayos, y saldréis brincando como becerros bien cebados fuera del establo.
21 and trample on the wicked, who will be like ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,says Yahweh Sabaoth.	21 Y pisotearéis a los impíos, porque serán ellos ceniza bajo la planta de vuestros pies, el día que yo preparo, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
22 'Remember the Law of my servant Moses to whom at Horeb I prescribed decrees and rulings for alIsrael.	22 Acordaos de la Ley de Moisés, mi siervo, a quien yo prescribí en el Horeb preceptos y normas para todo Israel.
23 'Look, I shal send you the prophet Elijah before the great and awesome Day of Yahweh comes.	23 He aquí que yo os envío al profeta Elías antes que llegue el Día de Yahveh, grande y terrible.
24 He will reconcile parents to their children and children to their parents, to forestal my putting thecountry under the curse of destruction.'	24 El hará volver el corazón de los padres a los hijos, y el corazón de los hijos a los padres; no sea que venga yo a herir la tierra de anatema.
