Malachi 3

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 'Look, I shal send my messenger to clear a way before me. And suddenly the Lord whom you seek wilcome to his Temple; yes, the angel of the covenant, for whom you long, is on his way, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	1 Yo envío a mi mensajero, para que prepare el camino delante de mí. Y en seguida entrará en su Templo el Señor que ustedes buscan; y el Angel de la alianza que ustedes desean ya viene, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
2 Who will be able to resist the day of his coming? Who wil remain standing when he appears? For hewil be like a refiner's fire, like ful ers' alkali.	2 ¿Quién podrá soportar el Día de su venida? ¿Quién permanecerá de pie cuando aparezca? Porque él es como el fuego del fundidor y como la lejía de los lavanderos.
3 He wil take his seat as refiner and purifier; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold andsilver, so that they can make the offering to Yahweh with uprightness.	3 El se sentará para fundir y purificar: purificará a los hijos de Leví y los depurará como al oro y la plata; y ellos serán para el Señor los que presentan la ofrenda conforme a la justicia.
4 The offering of Judah and Jerusalem wil then be acceptable to Yahweh as in former days, as in theyears of old.	4 La ofrenda de Judá y de Jerusalén será agradable al Señor, como en los tiempos pasados, como en los primeros años.
5 I am coming to put you on trial and I shal be a ready witness against sorcerers, adulterers, perjurers,and against those who oppress the wage-earner, the widow and the orphan, and who rob the foreigner of hisrights and do not respect me, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	5 Yo me acercaré a ustedes para el juicio y atestiguaré decididamente contra los adivinos, los adúlteros y los perjuros, contra los que oprimen al asalariado, a la viuda y al huérfano, contra los que violan el derecho del extranjero, y no temen, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
6 'No; I, Yahweh, do not change; and you have not ceased to be children of Jacob!	6 Porque yo, el Señor, no he cambiado, ¡pero ustedes no dejan de ser hijos de Jacob!
7 Ever since the days of your ancestors, you have evaded my statutes and not observed them. Return tome and I will return to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth. You ask, "How are we to return?	7 Desde la época de sus padres, ustedes se apartan de mis preceptos y nos observan. ¡Vuelvan a mí y yo me volveré a ustedes!, dice el Señor de los ejércitos. Ustedes dicen: «¿Cómo volveremos?».
8 Can a human being cheat God?" Yet you try to cheat me! You ask, "How do we try to cheat you?" Overtithes and contributions.	8 ¿Puede un hombre defraudar a Dios? ¡Sin embargo, ustedes me defraudan a mí! Ustedes dicen: «¿En qué te hemos defraudado?». En el diezmo y en los tributos.
9 A curse lies on you because you, this whole nation, try to cheat me.	9 Sobre ustedes pesa una maldición, porque ustedes, la nación entera, me defraudan.
10 Bring the tithes in ful to the treasury, so that there is food in my house; put me to the test now like this,says Yahweh Sabaoth, and see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven for you and pour out an abundantblessing for you.	10 Lleven el diezmo íntegro a la casa del Tesoro, para que haya alimento en mi Casa. Sométanme a esta prueba, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, y verán si no les abro las compuertas del cielo y derramo para ustedes la bendición en abundancia.
11 For your sakes, I shal forbid the locust to destroy the produce of your soil or prevent the vine frombearing fruit in your field, says Yahweh Sabaoth,	11 Yo les espantaré la langosta, para que no destruya los frutos de la tierra y la viña no les quede estéril en el campo, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
12 and all the nations wil cal you blessed, for you wil be a land of delights, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	12 Todas las naciones los proclamarán felices, porque ustedes serán una tierra de delicias, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
13 'You have said harsh things about me, says Yahweh. And yet you say, "What have we said againstyou?"	13 Ustedes hablan duramente contra mí, dice el Señor,
14 You have said, "It is useless to serve God; what is the good of keeping his commands or of walkingmournful y before Yahweh Sabaoth?	14 y todavía preguntan: «¿Qué hemos dicho contra ti?». Ustedes dicen: «Es inútil servir a Dios, ¿y qué ganamos con observar sus mandamientos o con andar enlutados delante del Señor de los ejércitos?
15 In fact, we now cal the proud the happy ones; the evil-doers are the ones who prosper; they put Godto the test, yet come to no harm!" '	15 Por eso llamamos felices a los arrogantes: ¡prosperan los que hacen el mal; desafían a Dios, y no les pasa nada!».
16 Then those who feared Yahweh talked to one another about this, and Yahweh took note and listened;and a book of remembrance was written in his presence recording those who feared him and kept his name inmind.	16 Entonces se hablaron unos a otros los que temen al Señor. El Señor prestó atención y escuchó: ante él se escribió un memorial, en favor de los que temen al Señor y respetan su Nombre.
17 'On the day when I act, says Yahweh Sabaoth, they will be my most prized possession, and I shalspare them in the way a man spares the son who serves him.	17 Ellos serán mi propiedad exclusiva, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, en el Día que yo preparo. Yo tendré compasión de ellos, como un hombre tiene compasión de su hijo que lo sirve.
18 Then once again you wil see the difference between the upright person and the wicked one, betweenthe one who serves God and the one who does not serve him.	18 Ustedes volverán a ver la diferencia entre el justo y el impío, entre el que sirve a Dios y el que no lo sirve.
19 'For look, the Day is coming, glowing like a furnace. Al the proud and al the evil-doers wil be thestubble, and the Day, when it comes, wil set them ablaze, says Yahweh Sabaoth, leaving them neither root norbranch.	19 Porque llega el Día, abrasador como un horno. Todos los arrogantes y los que hacen el mal serán como paja; el Día que llega los consumirá, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, hasta no dejarles raíz ni rama.
20 But for you who fear my name, the Sun of justice wil rise with healing in his rays, and you wil comeout leaping like calves from the stal ,	20 Pero para ustedes, los que temen mi Nombre, brillará el sol de justicia que trae la salud en sus rayos, y saldrán brincando como terneros bien alimentados.
21 and trample on the wicked, who will be like ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,says Yahweh Sabaoth.	21 Ustedes pisotearán a los impíos, que serán ceniza bajo la planta de sus pies, en el Día que yo preparo, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
22 'Remember the Law of my servant Moses to whom at Horeb I prescribed decrees and rulings for alIsrael.	22 Acuérdense de la Ley de Moisés, mi servidor, a quien yo prescribí, en el Horeb, preceptos y leyes para todo Israel.
23 'Look, I shal send you the prophet Elijah before the great and awesome Day of Yahweh comes.	23 Yo les voy a enviar a Elías, el profeta, antes que llegue el Día del Señor, grande y terrible.
24 He will reconcile parents to their children and children to their parents, to forestal my putting thecountry under the curse of destruction.'	24 El hará volver el corazón de los padres hacia sus hijos y el corazón de los hijos hacia sus padres, para que yo no venga a castigar el país con el exterminio total.
