NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh then said to Aaron: 'You, your sons and your ancestor's line with you wil be answerable foroffences against the sanctuary. You and your sons with you wil be answerable for the offences of yourpriesthood.	1 El Señor dijo a Aarón: Tú, tus hijos y tu casa paterna, cargarán con las faltas contra el Santuario; pero tú y tus hijos solamente cargarán con las faltas contra el ejercicio del sacerdocio.
2 You will admit your brothers of the branch of Levi, your ancestor's tribe, to join you and serve you,yourself and your sons, before the Tent of the Testimony.	2 También asociarás a tus hermanos de la tribu de Leví –tu tribu paterna– para que colaboren contigo y te sirvan como ministros, a ti y a tus hijos, en la Carpa del Testimonio.
3 They must be at your service and the service of the whole Tent. Provided they do not come near thesacred vessels or the altar, they wil be in no more danger of death than you.	3 Ellos desempeñarán tareas para ti y para toda la Carpa, pero no tendrán ningún contacto con los utensilios del Santuario o con el altar, no sea que mueran ellos y ustedes.
4 They must join you, they must take charge of the Tent of Meeting for the entire ministry of the Tent,and no unauthorised person will come near you.	4 Deberán colaborar contigo y ejecutar las tareas de la Carpa del Encuentro, prestando toda clase de servicios. Ningún extraño se acercará a ustedes
5 You will take charge of the sanctuary and charge of the altar, and retribution wil never again befallthe Israelites.	5 mientras realizan las funciones del Santuario o del altar, para que la ira del Señor no se vuelva a desatar contra los israelitas.
6 Of the Israelites, I myself have chosen your brothers the Levites as a gift to you. As men dedicated,they will belong to Yahweh, to serve at the Tent of Meeting.	6 Yo elijo a tus hermanos –los descendientes de Leví– entre todos los israelitas: ellos han sido puestos a disposición de ustedes, como dedicados al Señor, para prestar servicios en la Carpa del Encuentro.
7 You and your sons wil undertake the priestly duties in all that concerns the altar and all that liesbehind the curtain. You wil perform the liturgy, the duties of which I entrust to your priesthood. But anunauthorised person approaching wil incur death.'	7 Tú y tus hijos, en cambio, ejercerán las funciones sacerdotales en todo lo concerniente al altar y a lo que está detrás del velo. Yo hago del sacerdocio de ustedes un servicio de dedicación: el extraño que se acerque será castigado con la muerte.
8 Yahweh said to Aaron: 'I myself have put you in charge of everything set aside for me. Everythingconsecrated by the Israelites I give to you and your sons as your portion by perpetual decree.	8 El Señor dijo a Aarón: Yo te encomiendo el cuidado de mis ofrendas, es decir, de los dones sagrados de los israelitas. Te entrego todo eso, a ti y a tus hijos, como algo que les es debido, como un derecho irrevocable.
9 Of the things especial y holy, of the food offered, this is what wil revert to you: every offering that theIsraelites give back to me, whether it be a cereal offering, a sacrifice for sin or a sacrifice of reparation, is a thingespecial y holy and will revert to you and your sons.	9 Esto es lo que te corresponde de los sacrificios más santos, de las ofrendas quemadas. Todas las ofrendas que me presentan como sacrificios santísimos, a saber, todas las oblaciones, los sacrificios por el pecado y los sacrificios de reparación, serán para ti y para tus hijos.
10 You wil eat the things especial y holy. Every male may eat them. You wil regard them as sacred.	10 Tú participarás de los dones más santos. Sólo los varones podrán comerlos y deberás tratarlos como algo sagrado.
11 'To you wil revert also whatever is set aside from the offerings of the Israelites, whatever is held outwith the gesture of offering; this I give to you and your sons and daughters, by perpetual decree. Al members ofyour household may eat it unless they are unclean.	11 También será para ti lo que se toma de las ofrendas de los israelitas para ser ofrecido con el gesto de presentación. Yo te lo doy, a ti, a tus hijos y a tus hijas, como derecho irrevocable: podrán comerlo todos los miembros de tu casa que sean puros.
12 All the best of the oil, al the best of the new wine and wheat, these first-fruits offered by them toYahweh I give to you.	12 Yo te doy lo mejor del aceite, del vino y del trigo, o sea las partes escogidas que los israelitas presentan al Señor.
13 All the first produce of the country brought by them to Yahweh wil revert to you. Al members of your household may eat it unless they are unclean.	13 Las primicias de los productos de la tierra, que ellos ofrecen al Señor, serán para ti: podrán comerlas todos los miembros de tu casa que sean puros.
14 Everything in Israel put under the curse of destruction wil revert to you.	14 Todo lo que ha sido consagrado al exterminio total en Israel será para ti.
15 Every first-born of al creatures brought to Yahweh, human or animal, wil revert to you, but you willhave to redeem the first-born of man; you wil also redeem the first-born of an unclean animal.	15 También lo serán los primogénitos, tanto de hombres como de animales, ofrecidos al Señor. Pero harás rescatar los primogénitos de los hombres y los primogénitos de los animales impuros.
16 You wil redeem it in the month in which it is born, valuing it at five shekels, at the sanctuary shekel,which is twenty gerah.	16 Los harás rescatar dentro del mes de su nacimiento, tomando como precio por el rescate cinco siclos –en siclos de Santuario– que equivalen a veinte gueras.
17 But you wil not redeem the first-born of cow, sheep and goat. They are holy: you wil sprinkle theirblood on the altar and burn the fat as food burnt to be a smel pleasing to Yahweh;	17 Los primogénitos del ganado mayor y menor no podrán ser rescatados porque están consagrados. Por eso, derramarás su sangre contra el altar y harás arder su grasa como ofrenda que se quema con aroma agradable al Señor.
18 the meat wil revert to you, as wil the forequarter that has been presented with the gesture ofoffering, and the right thigh.	18 La carne, en cambio, será para ti, lo mismo que la ofrenda de presentación y la pata derecha.
19 Everything the Israelites set aside for Yahweh from the holy things, I give to you and your sons anddaughters, by perpetual decree. This is a covenant of salt for ever before Yahweh, for you and your descendantstoo.'	19 Yo te doy todas las ofrendas que los israelitas ponen aparte para el Señor. Te las doy a ti, a tus hijos y a tus hijas, como derecho irrevocable. Esta será una alianza de sal –una alianza eterna– para ti y tu descendencia, delante del Señor.
20 Yahweh said to Aaron: 'You will have no heritage in their country, you wil not have a portion likethem; I shal be your portion and your heritage among the Israelites.	20 Y el Señor dijo a Aarón: Tú no recibirás una herencia en el territorio de los israelitas ni tendrás una parte entre ellos: yo soy tu parte y tu herencia.
21 'Look, as heritage I give the Levites al the tithes col ected in Israel, in return for their services, forthe ministry they render in the Tent of Meeting.	21 Yo doy como herencia a los levitas todos los diezmos de Israel, a cambio de los servicios que prestan en la Carpa del Encuentro.
22 The Israelites wil no longer approach the Tent of Meeting, on pain of committing a deadly sin.	22 De ahora en adelante, los israelitas no se acercarán a la Carpa del Encuentro, porque cargarían con un pecado y morirían.
23 Levi will discharge the duties of the Tent of Meeting, and the Levites wil bear the consequences oftheir own guilt. This is a perpetual decree binding all your descendants: the Levites wil have no heritage amongthe Israelites,	23 Sólo los levitas prestarán servicios en ella y cargarán con sus propias faltas. Este es un decreto válido para siempre, a lo largo de las generaciones. Pero no tendrán una herencia entre los israelitas,
24 for the tithe which the Israelites set aside for Yahweh is the heritage I have given the Levites. This iswhy I have told them that they will have no heritage among the Israelites.'	24 porque yo les doy como herencia los diezmos que los israelitas pondrán aparte como una ofrenda para el Señor. Por eso dije, refiriéndome a ellos, que no tendrán una herencia entre los israelitas.
25 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	25 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
26 'Speak to the Levites and say: "When from the Israelites you receive the tithe which I have given youfrom them as your heritage, you wil set a portion of this aside for Yahweh: a tithe of the tithe.	26 Habla en estos términos a los levitas: Cuando ustedes reciban de los israelitas los diezmos que yo les asigné como herencia, reservarán la décima parte como una ofrenda para el Señor:
27 It wil take the place of the portion set aside that is due from you, like the wheat from the threshing-floor and new wine from the press.	27 esto les será tenido en cuenta a título de contribución. Como se hace con el trigo de la era y el mosto del lagar,
28 Thus you too wil set a portion aside for Yahweh out of all the tithes you receive from the Israelites.You will give what you have set aside for Yahweh to the priest Aaron.	28 también ustedes pondrán aparte para el Señor una ofrenda tomada de los diezmos que reciban de los israelitas, y se la entregarán al sacerdote Aarón, en calidad de ofrenda reservada al Señor.
29 Out of all the gifts you receive, you will set a portion aside for Yahweh. Out of al these things, youwil set aside the best, the sacred portion."	29 De los dones que reciban, reservarán las ofrendas debidas al Señor: la mejor porción de cada cosa, o sea, la parte que debe ser consagrada.
30 'You wil say to them, "After you have set the best aside, the remainder wil take the place, in theLevites' case, of the produce of the threshing-floor and wine-press.	30 Diles también: Una vez que hayan reservado la mejor parte –que les será tenida en cuenta como el trigo de la era y el mosto del lagar–
31 You may consume this anywhere, you and the members of your households; this is yourrecompense for serving in the Tent of Meeting,	31 ustedes y sus familias podrán comerla en cualquier lugar, porque esa es su recompensa por los servicios que prestan en la Carpa del Encuentro.
32 and you wil not incur sin by doing so, once you have set aside the best; you wil not be profaningthe things consecrated by the Israelites and wil not incur death." '	32 Así, si ustedes reservan la mejor parte, no cargarán con un pecado, no profanarán los dones sagrados de los israelitas ni morirán.
