1 Disaster for those so comfortable in Zion and for those so confident on the hil of Samaria, the notablesof this first of nations, those to whom the House of Israel has recourse!	1 - Sciagurati voi, opulenti di Sion, che ponete la vostra fiducia nel monte di Samaria, nobili, primati dei popoli, che incedete facendo pomposa comparsa nella casa di Israele!
2 Travel to Calneh and look, go on from there to Hamath the great, then go down to Gath in Philistia. Arethey more powerful than these kingdoms? 6 they drink wine by the bowlful, and lard themselves with the finest oils, but for the ruin of Joseph theycare nothing.	6 Bevono a coppe il vino e si profumano di unguento sopraffino, ma della sventura di Giuseppe non se ne danno pena.
7 That is why they wil now go into captivity, heading the column of captives. The sprawlers' revelry isover.	7 Per modo che ora se ne andranno in esilio alla testa degli esiliati e così sarà tolta via la chiassosa conventicola dei voluttuosi. -
8 Lord Yahweh has sworn by his own self -declares Yahweh, God Sabaoth: I detest the pride of Jacob, Ihate his palaces, I shal hand over the city and al in it.	8 Il Signore Dio ha fatto questo giuramento sull'anima sua. Dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti: - Io detesto la superbia di Giacobbe e odio i suoi palazzi; e consegnerò al nemico la città cogli abitanti ond'è ripiena.
9 If ten people are left in a single house, they wil die	9 E avverrà che se saranno rimasti in una sola casa dieci uomini, morranno anch'essi.
10 and a few will be left to carry the bones from the house, and they will say to anyone deep inside thehouse, 'Any more there?' and he wil answer, 'No.' Then he wil say, 'Hush!-Yahweh's name must not bementioned.'	10 E piglierà il prossimo parente di ciascuno [il suo morto] e lo brucerà, per fare uscire le ossa dalla casa; e dirà a quello che è nell'interno della casa: "C'è ancora alcuno teco?".
11 For look, Yahweh gives the command: as he strikes, the great house fal s to pieces and the smalhouse is in fragments.	11 E risponderà: "È la fine!". E soggiungerà: "Taci, e più non rammentare il nome del Signore Dio!". -
12 Can horses gal op over rocks? Can the sea be ploughed with oxen? Yet you have changed justiceinto poison, and the fruit of uprightness into wormwood,	12 Perchè ecco, che il Signore, con una parola d'ordine, e abbatterà sotto alle sue ruine la casa grande e sotto alle sue macerie la casa piccola.
13 while rejoicing over Lo-Debar and saying, 'Wasn't it by our own strength that we captured Karnaim?'	13 Forse che fra le pietre possono correre i cavalli, ovvero si può arare con i bufali? Così voi che avete convertito l'equità in tossico, ed il frutto della giustizia in assenzio.
14 But look, House of Israel, against you -declares Yahweh, God Sabaoth- I am raising a nation tooppress you from the Pass of Hamath to the Gorge of the Arabah.	14 Voi che vi beate nel niente; che dite: - Oh, non è forse per bravura nostra che abbiamo rizzato le corna? -
	15 - Ecco, ch'io solleverò sopra di voi, o casa di Israele, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti, una nazione e vi schiaccerà, a partire dal valico di Emat fino al Torrente del deserto. -
