Hosea 7

1 Whenever I would heal Israel, I am confronted by the guilt of Ephraim and the evil-doings of Samaria;for deceit is their principle of behaviour; the thief breaks into the house, marauders raid in the open;	1 Quando io volli guarire Israele si manifestò l'iniquità d'Efraim e la malizia di Samaria, perchè han praticata la menzogna. Il ladro è entrato dentro a rubare, e il brigante sta fuori.
2 and they never pause to consider that I remember al their wicked deeds; and now their own deeds hemthem in and stare me in the face.	2 E non dicano nel loro cuore che io mi ricordo di tutta la loro malizia: ora da ogni parte li circondano i loro ritrovati che sono davanti ai miei occhi.
3 They amuse the king with their wickedness and the chief men with their lies.	3 Colla loro perversità hanno rallegrato il re e colle loro menzogne i principi.
4 They are al adulterers, hot as an oven which the baker need not stoke from the time he has kneadedthe dough until it rises.	4 Son tutti adulteri, son come un forno acceso dal fornaio: la città fu per poco tranquilla dopo mescolato il lievito, finché il tutto non fu lievitato.
5 At the holiday for our king, the ministers become inflamed with wine, while he accepts the homage ofpeople	5 E' il giorno del nostro re: i principi cominciarono a esser fuor di senno dal vino, ed egli stese la sua mano con i buffoni.
6 who laugh at him. Their hearts are like an oven as they plot, all night their passion slumbers, then in themorning it bursts into flame;	6 Hanno reso il loro cuore come un forno, mentre egli tendeva loro insidie: tutta la notte dormì, facendoli cocere, la mattina anche lui era acceso come fuoco fiammante.
7 yes, al of them as hot as ovens, they consume their rulers. All their kings have fal en thus, not one ofthem has ever cal ed on me.	7 Tutti furono arroventati come forno, e divoraron i loro giudici; tutti i loro re caddero, e fra essi non c'è uno che alzi la voce verso di me.
8 Ephraim mixes with the nations. Ephraim is a half-baked cake.	8 Lo stesso Efraim s'è mescolato coi popoli, Efraim è divenuto come un pane cotto sotto la cenere e non rivoltato.
9 Foreigners have eaten his strength away but he is unconscious of it; even his hair is turning grey but heis unconscious of it.	9 Gli stranieri han divorata la sua forza, ed egli non se n'è accorto; anzi i capelli bianchi si sono moltiplicati in lui, ed egli non ne sa niente.
10 (Israel's arrogance is his own accuser; but they do not come back to Yahweh their God or seek him,despite al this.)	10 E la superbia d'Israele sarà umiliata in faccia a lui; ma non son tornati al Signore loro Dio, e dopo tutte queste cose non lo han cercato.
11 Ephraim is like a silly, witless pigeon cal ing on Egypt, turning to Assyria.	11 Ed Efraim è divenuto come colomba sedotta e senza intelligenza: hanno invocato l'Egitto e vanno agli Assiri.
12 Wherever they turn, I shal spread my net over them, I shal bring them down like the birds of the sky, Ishall punish them for their perversity.	12 e quando saran partiti stenderò sopra di essi la mia rete, e li farò cadere come gli uccelli del cielo, e ne farò strage, come han sentito dire nelle loro adunanze.
13 Woe to them for having fled from me! Ruin seize them for having wronged me! I have rescued themagain and again and they have only told lies about me.	13 Guai ad essi; chè si sono allontanati da me: andranno in rovina, perchè han prevaricato contro di me. Ed io li redensi, ma essi han detto contro di me delle menzogne.
14 Theirs is no heartfelt cry to me when they lament on their beds; when they gash themselves over thegrain and new wine, they are stil rebelling against me.	14 E non dal loro cuore alzaron la voce verso di me; ma urlavano sui loro letti, e ruminavano pel grano e pel vino, allontanandosi da me.
15 Though I supported and gave strength to their arms, they plan how to hurt me.	15 Ed io detti loro l'istruzione, e fortificai i loro bracci, ma essi pensarono a far del male contro di me.
16 They turn to what does not exist, they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders wil fal by the swordbecause of their arrogant talk; how they wil be laughed at in Egypt!	16 Tornarono a voler essere senza giogo, son divenuti come un arco ingannatore: i loro principi cadran sotto la spada a causa del furore della loro lingua: e questo farà ridere di loro nella terra d'Egitto.
