Hosea 7

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Whenever I would heal Israel, I am confronted by the guilt of Ephraim and the evil-doings of Samaria;for deceit is their principle of behaviour; the thief breaks into the house, marauders raid in the open;	1 Cuando yo quería sanar a Israel, se reveló la culpa de Efraím, las maldades de Samaría. Sí, ellos obran de mala fe; el ladrón penetra en la casa, mientras una banda despoja afuera.
2 and they never pause to consider that I remember al their wicked deeds; and now their own deeds hemthem in and stare me in the face.	2 Y no se detienen a pensar que yo me acuerdo de toda su maldad. Ahora los rodean sus malas acciones y ellas están delante de mi rostro.
3 They amuse the king with their wickedness and the chief men with their lies.	3 Con su perfidia, ellos entretienen al rey, y con sus mentiras, a los príncipes.
4 They are al adulterers, hot as an oven which the baker need not stoke from the time he has kneadedthe dough until it rises.	4 ¡Son todos adúlteros! Se parecen a un horno encendido, que el panadero deja de avivar desde que se amasa la pasta hasta que ha fermentado.
5 At the holiday for our king, the ministers become inflamed with wine, while he accepts the homage ofpeople	5 En la fiesta de nuestro rey, los príncipes se enervan bajo los ardores del vino; él tiende la mano a esos burlones.
6 who laugh at him. Their hearts are like an oven as they plot, all night their passion slumbers, then in themorning it bursts into flame;	6 Porque ellos se acercaron encubiertamente, aunque su corazón es como un horno. Toda la noche se adormece su furor, y a la mañana se enciende como una llama de fuego.
7 yes, al of them as hot as ovens, they consume their rulers. All their kings have fal en thus, not one ofthem has ever cal ed on me.	7 Todos ellos se inflaman como un horno y devoran a sus jefes. ¡Así han caído sus reyes uno tras otro, pero nadie entre ellos clama hacia mí!
8 Ephraim mixes with the nations. Ephraim is a half-baked cake.	8 Efraím se mezcla con los pueblos, es un pastel cocido a medias.
9 Foreigners have eaten his strength away but he is unconscious of it; even his hair is turning grey but heis unconscious of it.	9 Los extranjeros han devorado su vigor, y él no lo sabe. También le han salido canas, y él no lo sabe.
10 (Israel's arrogance is his own accuser; but they do not come back to Yahweh their God or seek him,despite al this.)	10 La arrogancia de Israel atestigua contra él, pero ellos no vuelven al Señor, su Dios; a pesar de todo esto, no lo buscan.
11 Ephraim is like a silly, witless pigeon cal ing on Egypt, turning to Assyria.	11 Efraím es como una paloma ingenua, falta de discernimiento: apelan a Egipto, se van hacia Asiria.
12 Wherever they turn, I shal spread my net over them, I shal bring them down like the birds of the sky, Ishall punish them for their perversity.	12 Pero allí donde vayan, yo tenderé sobre ellos mi red; los haré caer como pájaros del cielo, los atraparé apenas se oiga que están reunidos.
13 Woe to them for having fled from me! Ruin seize them for having wronged me! I have rescued themagain and again and they have only told lies about me.	13 ¡Ay de ellos, porque han huido lejos de mí! ¡Sobre ellos la devastación, porque se han rebelado contra mí! ¡Sí, yo quiero rescatarlos, pero ellos dicen mentiras contra mí!
14 Theirs is no heartfelt cry to me when they lament on their beds; when they gash themselves over thegrain and new wine, they are stil rebelling against me.	14 No gritaron hacia mí de corazón, cuando se lamentaban en sus lechos. Por trigo y vino nuevo se hacen incisiones y se han obstinado contra mí.
15 Though I supported and gave strength to their arms, they plan how to hurt me.	15 Yo mismo los dirigí, fortalecí sus brazos, pero ellos traman el mal contra mí.
16 They turn to what does not exist, they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders wil fal by the swordbecause of their arrogant talk; how they wil be laughed at in Egypt!	16 Se vuelven, pero no hacia lo alto, son como un arco fallido. Sus jefes caerán bajo la espada, por la insolencia de su lenguaje: esto hará que se rían de ellos en Egipto.
