Hosea 7

1 Whenever I would heal Israel, I am confronted by the guilt of Ephraim and the evil-doings of Samaria;for deceit is their principle of behaviour; the thief breaks into the house, marauders raid in the open;	1 - Mentre prestavo le mie cure a Israele, si manifestò la malignità di Efraim e la malizia di Samaria; perchè hanno praticato la menzogna, il ladro è penetrato a spogliare e fuori c'è il brigante.
2 and they never pause to consider that I remember al their wicked deeds; and now their own deeds hemthem in and stare me in the face.	2 E non dicano poi nei loro cuori, che di tutte le loro malvagità io tengo conto, mentre pur ora li circondano le loro male azioni avvenute alla presenza mia.
3 They amuse the king with their wickedness and the chief men with their lies.	3 Nella loro malizia hanno festeggiato il re e nelle loro ipocrisie i principi;
4 They are al adulterers, hot as an oven which the baker need not stoke from the time he has kneadedthe dough until it rises.	4 è tutt'una gente di rinnegati; a guisa di un forno acceso dal fornaio; la città sta un poco in quiete, dall'impastare il fermento fino a che tutto è fermentato.
5 At the holiday for our king, the ministers become inflamed with wine, while he accepts the homage ofpeople	5 - È il giorno del nostro re! - I principi presero a riscaldarsi di vino: egli strinse la mano ai buffoni.
6 who laugh at him. Their hearts are like an oven as they plot, all night their passion slumbers, then in themorning it bursts into flame;	6 Mentre gli si accostavano, era come un forno il loro cuore che covava le loro insidie. Tutta la notte dormì tenendoli nel forno, e al mattino era acceso come fuoco vampante.
7 yes, al of them as hot as ovens, they consume their rulers. All their kings have fal en thus, not one ofthem has ever cal ed on me.	7 Tutti sono riscaldati come un forno, e hanno divorato i loro giudici; tutti i loro re sono caduti, senza che di loro vi sia nessuno che m'invochi.
8 Ephraim mixes with the nations. Ephraim is a half-baked cake.	8 Efraim, egli stesso si mescolava con le nazioni; Efraim è diventato una focaccia non rivoltata.
9 Foreigners have eaten his strength away but he is unconscious of it; even his hair is turning grey but heis unconscious of it.	9 Gli stranieri hanno consumata la sua fibra, ed egli non se ne accòrse, anzi la canizie gli ha cosperso il crine, ed egli non se n'è avveduto.
10 (Israel's arrogance is his own accuser; but they do not come back to Yahweh their God or seek him,despite al this.)	10 La superbia che Efraim ostenta in faccia sta per essere umiliata, ma con tutto questo non sono tornati al Signore loro Dio, e non l'hanno cercato.
11 Ephraim is like a silly, witless pigeon cal ing on Egypt, turning to Assyria.	11 Ed Efraim è diventato come una colomba sbadata, senza accorgimento. Hanno fatto appello all'Egitto, ricorsero agli Assiri!
12 Wherever they turn, I shal spread my net over them, I shal bring them down like the birds of the sky, Ishall punish them for their perversity.	12 In quella che andranno, stenderò su di loro la mia rete, come un volatile del cielo, li farò calare giù e li castigherò secondo quanto fu fatto intendere nella loro assemblea.
13 Woe to them for having fled from me! Ruin seize them for having wronged me! I have rescued themagain and again and they have only told lies about me.	13 Guai a loro, perchè si sono trafugati da me, saranno in preda alla devastazione; perchè si sono rivoltati contro di me, ed io li avrei riscattati, ma essi parlarono contro di me parole bugiarde!
14 Theirs is no heartfelt cry to me when they lament on their beds; when they gash themselves over thegrain and new wine, they are stil rebelling against me.	14 E non gridarono col loro cuore verso di me, ma invece sui loro giacigli urlavano, sopra il frumento e il vino ruminavano; si sono ritirati da me.
15 Though I supported and gave strength to their arms, they plan how to hurt me.	15 Ed io li aveva istruiti e aveva rafforzato le loro braccia ed essi hanno malignato di me.
16 They turn to what does not exist, they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders wil fal by the swordbecause of their arrogant talk; how they wil be laughed at in Egypt!	16 Sono ritornati ad essere senza giogo, sono diventati come un arco traditore; i loro principi cadranno di spada per accanimento della loro lingua; questa ha da essere la loro beffa nella terra di Egitto.
