Hosea 12

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)	1 Efraim si pasce di vento, e va dietro al vento orientale; tuttodì moltiplica menzogna, e rapina; e fanno patto con l’Assiro, ed olii odoriferi son portati in Egitto.
2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.	2 Il Signore ha bene anche lite con Giuda; ma egli farà punizione sopra Giacobbe, secondo le sue vie; egli gli renderà la retribuzione secondo le sue opere.
3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.	3 Nel ventre egli prese il calcagno del suo fratello, e con la sua forza fu vincitore, lottando con Iddio.
4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.	4 Egli fu vincitore, lottando con l’Angelo, e prevalse; egli pianse, e gli supplicò; lo trovò in Betel e quivi egli parlò con noi.
5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-	5 Or il Signore è l’Iddio degli eserciti; la sua ricordanza è: IL SIGNORE.
6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!	6 Tu adunque, convertiti all’Iddio tuo; osserva benignità, e dirittura; e spera sempre nell’Iddio tuo
7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.	7 Efraim è un Cananeo, egli ha in mano bilance false, egli ama far torto.
8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.	8 Ed Efraim ha detto: Io son pure arricchito; io mi sono acquistate delle facoltà; tutti i miei acquisti non mi hanno cagionata iniquità, che sia peccato.
9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.	9 Pur nondimeno io sono il Signore Iddio tuo, fin dal paese di Egitto; ancora ti farò abitare in tabernacoli, come a’ dì della festa solenne.
10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.	10 E parlerò a’ profeti, e moltiplicherò le visioni, e proporrò parabole per li profeti.
11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.	11 Certo, Galaad è tutto iniquità; non sono altro che vanità; sacrificano buoi in Ghilgal; ed anche i loro altari son come mucchi di pietre su per li solchi de’ campi.
12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.	12 Or Giacobbe se ne fuggì nella contrada di Siria, e Israele servì per una moglie, e per una moglie fu guardiano di greggia.
13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.	13 E il Signore, per lo profeta, trasse Israele fuor di Egitto, ed Israele fu guardato per lo profeta.
14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.	14 Efraim ha provocato il suo Signore ad ira acerbissima; perciò, egli gli lascerà addosso il suo sangue, e gli renderà il suo vituperio
15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.
