Hosea 11

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 When Israel was a child I loved him, and I cal ed my son out of Egypt.	1 Cuando Israel era niño, yo lo amé, y de Egipto llamé a mi hijo.
2 But the more I cal ed, the further they went away from me; they offered sacrifice to Baal and burntincense to idols.	2 Pero cuanto más los llamaba, más se alejaban de mí; ofrecían sacrificios a los Baales y quemaban incienso a los ídolos.
3 I myself taught Ephraim to walk, I myself took them by the arm, but they did not know that I was theone caring for them,	3 ¡Y yo había enseñado a caminar a Efraím, lo tomaba por los brazos! Pero ellos no reconocieron que yo los cuidaba.
4 that I was leading them with human ties, with leading-strings of love, that, with them, I was likesomeone lifting an infant to his cheek, and that I bent down to feed him.	4 Yo los atraía con lazos humanos, con ataduras de amor; era para ellos como los que alzan a una criatura contra sus mejillas, me inclinaba hacia él y le daba de comer.
5 He wil not have to go back to Egypt, Assyria wil be his king instead! Since he has refused to comeback to me,	5 Efraím volverá a Egipto y Asiria será su rey, porque rehusaron volver a mí.
6 the sword wil rage through his cities, destroying the bars of his gates, devouring them because oftheir plots.	6 La espada hará estragos en sus ciudades, destrozará los barrotes de sus puertas y los devorará a causa de sus intrigas.
7 My people are bent on disregarding me; if they are summoned to come up, not one of them makes amove.	7 Mi pueblo está aferrado a su apostasía: se los llama hacia lo alto, pero ni uno solo se levanta.
8 Ephraim, how could I part with you? Israel, how could I give you up? How could I make you likeAdmah or treat you like Zeboi m? My heart within me is overwhelmed, fever grips my inmost being.	8 ¿Cómo voy a abandonarte, Efraím? ¿Cómo voy a entregarte, Israel? ¿Cómo voy a tratarte como a Admá o a dejarte igual que Seboím? Mi corazón se subleva contra mí y se enciende toda mi ternura:
9 I wil not give rein to my fierce anger, I wil not destroy Ephraim again, for I am God, not man, the HolyOne in your midst, and I shall not come to you in anger.	9 no daré libre curso al ardor de mi ira, no destruiré otra vez a Efraím. Porque yo soy Dios, no un hombre: soy el Santo en medio de ti, y no vendré con furor.
10 They wil fol ow Yahweh; he wil roar like a lion, and when he roars, his children will come flutteringfrom the west,	10 Ellos irán detrás del Señor ; él rugirá como un león, y cuando se ponga a rugir, sus hijos vendrán temblando del Occidente.
11 fluttering like sparrows from Egypt, like pigeons from Assyria, and I shal settle them in their homes-declares Yahweh.	11 Vendrán temblando desde Egipto como un pájaro, y como una paloma, desde el país de Asiria; y yo los haré habitar en sus casas –oráculo del Señor–.
