Jeremiah 35

1 The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah,	1 Parola indirizzata dal Signore a Geremia, al tempo di Ioachim, figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda, in questi termini:
2 'Go to the clan of the Rechabites and speak to them; bring them into one of the rooms of the Temple ofYahweh and offer them wine to drink.'	2 « Va alla casa dei Recubiti, parla con loro, e conducili nella casa del Signore, in una delle camere del tesoro, e dà loro a bere del vino ».
3 So I took Jaazaniah son of Jeremiah, son of Habazziniah, with his brothers and al his sons, the wholeRechabite clan,	3 E io presi Iezonia, figlio di Geremia, figlio di Absania, e i suoi fratelli ed i suoi figli, e tutta la famiglia dei Recabiti,
4 and brought them to the Temple of Yahweh into the room of Ben-Johanan son of Igdaliah, a man ofGod, which was next to that of the chief men, above the room of Maaseiah son of Shal um, guardian of thethreshold.	4 e li feci entrare nella casa del Signore, nella camera del tesoro dei figli di Hanan, figlio di Iegedelia, uomo di Dio, che era presso la camera del tesoro dei principi, sopra il tesoro di Maasia figlio di Sellum, che era custode del vestibolo.
5 I then set pitchers ful of wine, and some cups, before the members of the Rechabite clan and said,'Drink some wine.'	5 Io posi davanti ai figli della famiglia dei Recabiti dei vasi pieni di vino e dei bicchieri, e dissi loro: « Bevete il vino ».
6 But they replied, 'We do not drink wine, because our ancestor Jonadab son of Rechab gave us thisorder, "You must not drink wine, neither you nor your sons for ever;	6 Ma essi risposero: « Non berremo vino, perchè Ionadab, figlio di Recab, padre nostro, ci diede quest'ordine: Non berrete vino, voi e i vostri figli, in eterno;
7 nor must you build houses, sow seed, plant vineyards or own them, but must live in tents all your lives,so that you may live long on the soil to which you are alien."	7 non fabbricherete case, non seminerete, non pianterete vigne e non ne avrete, ma per tutto il tempo della vostra vita abiterete sotto le tende, per vivere a lungo sopra la faccia della terra in cui siete pellegrini.
8 We have punctiliously obeyed the orders of our ancestor, Jonadab son of Rechab, never drinking wineourselves, nor our wives, our sons or our daughters,	8 Abbiamo dunque obbedito alla parola di Ionadab, figlio di Recab, nostro padre, in tutto quello che ci ha comandato, e cosi non beviamo vino in tutta la nostra vita, noi, le nostre donne,
9 not building houses to live in, owning neither vineyard nor field nor seed,	9 i nostri figli e le nostre figlie, e non fabbrichiamo case per abitarvi, e non abbiamo nè vigna, nè campo, nè semina;
10 living in tents. We have obeyed the orders of our ancestor Jonadab, respecting them in everyparticular.	10 ma abitiamo sotto le tende; abbiamo obbedito in tutto agli ordini datici dal nostro padre Ionadab.
11 However, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded this country, we decided, "We must getaway! We will go to Jerusalem to escape the armies of the Chaldaeans and Aramaeans." So that is why we areliving in Jerusalem.'	11 Essendo poi venuto nella nostra terra Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia, noi abbiamo detto: Venite, entriamo in Gerusalemme, per evitare l'esercito dei Caldei e l'esercito della Siria; e ci siamo ritirati in Gerusalemme ».
12 Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as follows,	12 E la parola del Signore fu indirizzata a Geremia in questi termini:
13 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Go and say to the people of Judah and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem: Wil you never learn the lesson and listen to my words, Yahweh demands?	13 « Così parla il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Va a dire agli uomini di Giuda e agli abitanti di Gerusalemme: — E voi non imparerete la lezione, da obbedire alle mie parole? — dice il Signore.
14 The words of Jonadab son of Rechab, ordering his sons to drink no wine, have been observed;obedient to their ancestor's command, they drink none even today . But to me, who spoke to you so urgently, sountiringly, you have not listened.	14 Si sono imposte le parole di Ionadab, figlio di Recab, colle quali ordinò ai suoi figlioli di non ber vino, e fino ad oggi non ne hanno bevuto, per obbedire al comando del loro padre. Ed ecco io v'ho parlato, v'ho parlato con ogni sollecitudine, e non mi avete obbedito.
15 I have urgently and untiringly sent you al my servants the prophets to say: Turn back, each one ofyou, from your evil behaviour and amend your actions, do not fol ow other gods to serve them, and you wil go onliving on the soil I gave to you and your ancestors. But you have not paid attention or listened to me.	15 Mandai a voi tutti i miei servi, i profeti, li mandai per tempo, a dire: « Convertitevi, ciascuno dalla sua pessima vita, emendate la vostra condotta, non andate dietro a dèi stranieri, non li adorate, e abiterete nella terra da me data ai padri vostri; ma voi non avete piegate le vostre orecchie, non mi avete dato ascolto.
16 Thus the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab have kept the command their ancestor gave them, but thispeople has not listened to me.	16 Or dunque i figli di Ionadab, figlio di Recab, osservarono costantemente l'ordine dato ad essi dal loro padre, e questo popolo non mi ha obbedito.
17 And so, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Look, on Judah and the citizens of JerusalemI am going to bring al the disaster which I have decreed for them, because I spoke to them and they would notlisten, cal ed to them and they would not answer." '	17 Per questo, così parla il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: — Ecco io farò venire su Giuda e su tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme tutte le sventure che ho loro minacciate, perchè ho loro parlato e non mi han dato ascolto, li ho chiamati e non mi hanno risposto ».
18 Then Jeremiah said to the Rechabite clan, 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Becauseyou have obeyed the orders of your ancestor Jonadab and observed al his rules and done everything heordered you to do,	18 E Geremia disse alla famiglia dei Recabiti: « Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Siccome voi avete obbedito al comando del padre vostro Ionadab, e ne avete osservati tutti gli ordini, e avete eseguito tutto quello che vi prescrisse,
19 therefore, Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: Jonadab son of Rechab wil never lack amale descendant to stand before me for ever." '	19 per questo, ecco quanto dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Della stirpe di lonadab, figlio di Recab, non mancherà uomo che stia dinanzi a me, per tutti i tempi ».
