Jeremiah 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 'If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him and becomes someone else's, has he the right to go backto her? Has not that piece of land been total y pol uted? And you, having played the whore with many lovers, youclaim the right to come back to me! Yahweh demands.	1 - Dir si suole: - Se uno ripudia la propria moglie e questa, partitasi da lui, va a marito con un altro, ritornerà mai più a lei (il primo?). Non sarebbe una impura e contaminata quella donna? - E tu a molti amatori ti sei data in braccio, ma pure torna a me, dice il Signore, ed io ti riceverò.
2 'Lift your eyes to the bare heights and look! Where have you not offered your sex! You waited by theroadside for them like an Arab in the desert. You have polluted the country with your prostitution and your vices:	2 Drizza gli occhi in ogni direzione, e guarda se v'è luogo dove non ti sia coricata: sulle strade ti appostavi aspettandoli, come fa il ladro nel deserto, e hai colle tue fornicazioni e colle tue malvagità contaminata la terra.
3 this is why the showers have been withheld, the late rains have not come. 'But you maintained aprostitute's bold front, with no trace of a blush.	3 Perciò sono state vietate le stille alle nubi e le ultime piogge non ci furono e tu hai fatto faccia da meretrice, non hai voluto arrossire.
4 From now on, do not cry out at me, "My father! My beloved ever since I was young!	4 Dunque almeno adesso invocami: - O padre mio, tu che m'hai condotta vergine fanciulla;
5 Wil he keep up his anger for ever, maintain his wrath to the end?" You say this but stil go on sinning,being so obstinate.'	5 conserverai la tua ira in perpetuo, o la durerai così sino alla fine? - Ecco come hai parlato, ma hai fatto il male quanto più hai potuto!».
6 In the days of King Josiah, Yahweh said to me, 'Have you seen what disloyal Israel has done? How shehas made her way up every high hil and to every green tree, and played the whore there?	6 E il Signore mi disse nei giorni del re Josia:«Hai tu ben veduto ciò che fece la pervertita nazione d'Israele? Si appartò sopra tutti i monti prominenti e sotto ogni pianta frondosa e ivi si diede alla fornicazione.
7 I thought, "After doing al this she wil come back to me." But she did not come back. Her faithless sister Judah saw this.	7 E mentre faceva tutto questo, io dissi: - Torna a me, - ma essa non tornò. E Giuda, la sua perfida sorella, potè vedere
8 She also saw that I had repudiated disloyal Israel for al her adulteries and given her her divorce papers.Her faithless sister Judah, however, was not afraid: she too went and played the whore.	8 com'io, a causa che m'era stata infedele la pervertita Israele, l'avessi rimandata e le avessi dato il libello del ripudio; e cotesta perfidiosa di Giuda, sua sorella, non s'intimorì punto, anzi se ne andò e si diede anch'essa a fornicare.
9 And with her shameless whoring, she pol uted the country; she committed adultery with stones andpieces of wood.	9 E per la facilità che trovò di fornicare, contaminò la terra e si prostituì davanti a una pietra e a un legno.
10 Worse than all this: Judah, her faithless sister, has come back to me not in sincerity, but only inpretence, Yahweh declares.'	10 E con tutto questo che ha fatto la perfida Giuda, sua sorella, non ritornò a me con tutto il suo cuore, ma con la menzogna», dice il Signore.
11 And Yahweh said to me, 'Disloyal Israel is upright, compared with faithless Judah.	11 E il Signore mi disse: «La ribelle Israele è più giustificabile in paragone della prevaricatrice Giuda.
12 So go and shout words towards the north, and say: "Come back, disloyal Israel, Yahweh declares, Ishall frown on you no more, since I am merciful, Yahweh declares. I shal not keep my anger for ever.	12 Va' e grida queste parole verso il settentrione e di' così: - Ritorna, o ribelle Israele, dice il Signore, ed io non rivolgerò la mia faccia da voi, perchè io sono santo, dice il Signore, e non voglio tener collera in perpetuo.
13 Only acknowledge your guilt: how you have rebelled against Yahweh your God, how you haveprostituted yourself with the Strangers under every green tree and have not listened to my voice, Yahwehdeclares.	13 Però riconosci il tuo fallo, perchè hai perfidiato contro il Signore Dio tuo e ti sei sbandata correndo dietro agli dèi stranieri sotto ogni albero frondoso, e non hai dato ascolto alla mia voce, dice il Signore.
14 "Come back, disloyal children, Yahweh declares, for I alone am your Master, and I wil take you, onefrom a town, two from a family, and bring you to Zion.	14 Convertitevi a me, o figli pervertiti, dice il Signore, perchè io sono il vostro padrone, e vi prenderò uno da una città e due da una famiglia, e vi ricondurrò in Sion.
15 I shal give you shepherds after my own heart, who wil pasture you wisely and discreetly.	15 E vi darò dei pastori secondo il mio cuore e vi pasceranno di scienza e di dottrina.
16 Then, when you have increased and grown numerous in the country, Yahweh declares, no one wilever again say: The ark of the covenant of Yahweh! It will not enter their minds, they wil not remember it or missit, nor wil another one be made.	16 E quando sarete moltiplicati e cresciuti sopra la terra, in quei giorni dice il Signore, non diranno più: "Oh, l'Arca del testamento del Signore!". Non verrà più in mente a nessuno e non si ricorderanno più di essa e non sarà visitata, nè rifatta.
17 When that time comes, Jerusalem will be cal ed: The Throne of Yahweh, and al the nations willconverge on her, on Yahweh's name, on Jerusalem, and will no longer fol ow their own stubborn and wickedinclinations.	17 In quel tempo Gerusalemme la chiameranno "Trono del Signore"; e converranno a lei tutte le genti nel nome del Signore in Gerusalemme, e più non andranno dietro alle aberrazioni del loro pessimo cuore.
18 "When those days come, the House of Judah wil join the House of Israel; together they will come fromthe land of the north to the country I gave your ancestors as their heritage."	18 In quei giorni la casa di Giuda andrà verso la casa d'Israele e verranno insieme dalla terra del settentrione alla terra ch'io diedi ai vostri padri.
19 'And I was thinking: How am I to rank you as my children? I shal give you a country of delights, thefairest heritage of al the nations! I thought: You wil cal me Father and wil never cease to fol ow me.	19 Io ho detto: "Come ti porrò tra i (miei) figliuoli e potrò ridarti la terra ambita, il retaggio più cospicuo delle schiere delle genti?". E dissi: "Riconoscimi per tuo padre e non cessare di venir dietro a me!".
20 But like a woman betraying her lover, House of Israel, you have betrayed me,' Yahweh declares.	20 Ma intanto come una donna che sprezza chi le porta tutto il suo amore, così ha sprezzato me la casa d'Israele!-» dice il Signore.
21 A noise is heard on the bare heights: the weeping and entreaty of the Israelites, for they have gonewildly astray, have forgotten Yahweh their God.	21 Una voce è stata udita per le contrade, il pianto e il lamento dei figli d'Israele! Perchè si sono incamminati alla perversione, hanno dimenticato il Signore, loro Dio.
22 'Come back, disloyal sons, I want to cure your disloyalty.' 'We are here, we are coming to you, for youare Yahweh our God.	22 Convertitevi, o figli pervertiti, ed io sanerò i vostri pervertimenti! Eccoci che veniamo a te, perchè tu sei il Signore Dio nostro.
23 The hil s are a delusion after al , so is the tumult of the mountains. Yahweh our God is, after al , thesaving of Israel.	23 Veramente fallaci sono stati i colli e la moltitudine dei monti; veramente nel Signore Dio nostro è la salute d'Israele.
24 Shame has devoured what our ancestors worked for ever since we were young, their flocks and herds,their sons and their daughters.	24 La confusione ha consumato tutte le fatiche dei nostri padri, fin dalla nostra giovinezza, le loro greggi, i loro armenti, i figli e le figlie loro.
25 Let us lie down in our shame, let our confusion cover us, for we have sinned against Yahweh our God,we and our ancestors, from our youth until today, and have not listened to the voice of Yahweh our God.'	25 Noi giaceremo nella nostra confusione coperti dalla nostra ignominia, perchè abbiamo peccato contro il Signore Dio nostro, noi e i nostri padri dall'età primiera fino al giorno d'oggi, e alla voce del Signore Dio nostro non abbiamo dato ascolto.
