Jeremiah 15

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Yahweh said to me, 'Even if Moses and Samuel pleaded before me, I could not sympathise with thispeople! Drive them out of my sight; away with them!	1 Poi il Signore mi disse: Avvegnachè Mosè e Samuele si presentassero davanti alla mia faccia, l’anima mia non sarebbe però inverso questo popolo; mandali fuori della mia presenza, ed escansene fuori.
2 And if they ask you, "Where shal we go?" tel them this, "Yahweh says this: Those for the plague, to the plague; those for the sword, to the sword; those for famine, to famine; those for captivity, to captivity!	2 Che se pur ti dicono: Dove usciremo? di’ loro: Così ha detto il Signore: Chi è condannato alla mortalità, esca alla mortalità; chi alla spada, esca alla spada; chi alla fame, esca alla fame; chi alla cattività, esca alla cattività.
3 "I shal consign them to four kinds of thing, Yahweh declares: the sword to kil , the dogs to drag away,the birds of heaven and wild animals of earth to devour and to destroy.	3 Ed io costituirò sopra loro quattro generazioni, dice il Signore: la spada, per uccidere; i cani, per istrascinare; gli uccelli del cielo, e le bestie della terra, per divorare, e per distruggere.
4 I shal make them an object of horror to al the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh son ofHezekiah, king of Judah, and what he did in Jerusalem." '	4 E farò che saranno agitati per tutti i regni della terra, per cagion di Manasse, figliuolo di Ezechia, re di Giuda; per quello ch’egli ha fatto in Gerusalemme.
5 Who is there to pity you, Jerusalem, who to grieve for you, who to go out of his way and ask how youare?	5 Perciocchè, o Gerusalemme, chi avrebbe pietà di te? chi si condorrebbe teco? o chi si rivolgerebbe per domandarti del tuo bene stare?
6 'You yourself have rejected me, Yahweh declares, you have turned your back on me; so I havestretched my hand over you and destroyed you. Tired of relenting,	6 Tu mi hai abbandonato, dice il Signore, e te ne sei ita indietro; io altresì stenderò la mano sopra te, e ti distruggerò; io sono stanco di pentirmi.
7 I have winnowed them with a winnow at the country's gates. They have been bereft, I have destroyedmy people, but they refuse to leave their ways.	7 Benchè io li abbia sventolati con la ventola nelle porte del paese, ed abbia deserto, e distrutto il mio popolo, non però si son convertiti dalle lor vie.
8 I have made their widows outnumber the sand of the sea. On the mother of young warriors I bring thedestroyer in broad daylight. Suddenly I bring anguish and terror down on her.	8 Le sue vedove sono state da me moltiplicate, più che la rena de’ mari; io ho loro addotto in pien mezzodì un guastatore contro alla madre de’ giovani; io ho fatto di subito cader sopra lei turbamento e spaventi.
9 The mother of seven sons grows faint and gasps for breath. It is stil day, but already her sun has set,she is dismayed and distracted; and the rest of them I shal consign to the sword, to their enemies, Yahwehdeclares.'	9 Quella che avea partoriti sette figliuoli è divenuta fiacca, l’anima sua ha ansato io suo sole è tramontato, mentre era ancora giorno; è stata confusa e svergognata; ancora darò il lor rimanente alla spada, all’arbitrio de’ lor nemici, dice il Signore
10 A disaster for me, mother, that you bore me to be a man of strife and dissension for the wholecountry. I neither lend nor borrow, yet all of them curse me.	10 Ahi lasso me! madre mia; perciocchè tu mi hai partorito per essere uomo di lite, e di contesa a tutto il paese: io non ho loro dato nulla in presto, ed essi altresì non mi hanno prestato nulla; e pur tutti quanti mi maledicono.
11 Have I not genuinely done my best to serve you, Yahweh? Have I not interceded with you in time ofdisaster and distress!	11 Il Signore ha detto: Se il tuo sol rimanente non è riserbato per lo bene; se io non fo che il nemico si scontri in te nel tempo dell’avversità, e nel tempo della distretta.
12 'Can iron break the iron of the north and the bronze?	12 Potrebbesi rompere il ferro, il ferro di Aquilone, e il rame?
13 Your wealth and your treasures I shal hand over to plunder, without repayment, because of all yoursins, throughout your territory.	13 Io darò senza prezzo in preda le tue facoltà, e i tuoi tesori, in tutti i tuoi confini; e ciò per tutti i tuoi peccati.
14 I shal enslave you to your enemies in a country which you do not know, for my anger has kindled afire that wil burn you up.'	14 E farò passare i tuoi nemici per un paese che tu non sai; perciocchè un fuoco si è acceso nella mia ira, il quale si apprenderà sopra voi
15 Yahweh, you know! Remember me, take care of me, and avenge me on my persecutors. Howeverlong your anger endures, do not snatch me away. Realise that I suffer insult for your sake.	15 O Signore, tu il sai; ricordati di me, e visitami, e vendicami de’ miei persecutori; non rapirmi, mentre tu sei lento all’ira; conosci che io soffero vituperio per te.
16 When your words came, I devoured them: your word was my delight and the joy of my heart; for I wascal ed by your Name, Yahweh, God Sabaoth.	16 Tosto che le tue parole sono state ritrovate da me, io le ho mangiate; e la tua parola mi è stata in gioia, e in allegrezza del mio cuore; perciocchè il tuo Nome è invocato sopra me, o Signore Iddio degli eserciti.
17 I never sat in the company of scoffers amusing myself; with your hands on me I held myself aloof,since you had fil ed me with indignation.	17 Io non son seduto nel consiglio degli schernitori, per far festa, ed allegrezza; io son seduto tutto solo, per cagion della tua mano; perciocchè tu mi hai empiuto d’indegnazione.
18 Why is my suffering continual, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Truly, for me you are adeceptive stream with uncertain waters!	18 Perchè è stato il mio dolore perpetuo, e la mia piaga disperata? perchè ha ella ricusato d’esser guarita? mi saresti tu pure come una cosa fallace, come acque che non son perenni?
19 To which Yahweh replied, 'If you repent, I shal restore you to plead before me. If you distinguishbetween the precious and the base, you shal be as my own mouth. They will come back to you, but you mustnot go back to them.	19 Perciò così ha detto il Signore: Se tu ti converti, io ti ristorerò, e tu starai davanti a me; e se tu separi il prezioso dal vile, tu sarai come la mia bocca; convertansi eglino a te; ma tu, non convertirti a loro.
20 As far as these people are concerned, I shal make you a fortified wall of bronze. They will fightagainst you but will not overcome you, because I am with you to save you and rescue you, Yahweh declares.	20 Ed io ti farò essere a questo popolo, a guisa d’un muro fortissimo di rame; ed essi combatteranno contro a te, ma non ti vinceranno; perciocchè io son teco, per salvarti e per riscuoterti, dice il Signore.
21 I shal rescue you from the clutches of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the violent.'	21 E ti trarrò di man de’ maligni, e ti riscoterò di man de’ violenti
