Leviticus 18

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "I am Yahweh your God:	2 Habla a los israelitas en estos términos: Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
3 You must not behave as they do in Egypt where you used to live; you must not behave as they do inCanaan where I am taking you, nor must you fol ow their laws.	3 Ustedes no imitarán las costumbres de Egipto –ese país donde ustedes habitaron– ni tampoco las de Canaán –esa tierra adonde yo los haré entrar–. No seguirán sus preceptos,
4 You must observe my customs and keep my laws, fol owing them. "I, Yahweh, am your God:	4 sino que cumplirán mis leyes y observarán mis preceptos, obrando en conformidad con ellos. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
5 hence you wil keep my laws and my customs. Whoever complies with them wil find life in them. "I amYahweh.	5 Ustedes cumplirán mis preceptos y mis leyes, porque el hombre que los cumple vivirá gracias a ellos. Yo soy el Señor.
6 "None of you wil approach a woman who is closely related to him, to have intercourse with her. I amYahweh.	6 Ninguno de ustedes se acercará a una mujer de su propia sangre para tener relaciones con ella. Yo soy el Señor.
7 "You wil not have intercourse with your father or your mother. She is your mother -- you wil not haveintercourse with her.	7 No tendrás relaciones con tu madre, la esposa de tu padre: ella es tu madre, y tú no debes tener relaciones con ella.
8 "You wil not have intercourse with your father's wife; it is your father's sexual prerogative.	8 No tendrás relaciones con la mujer de tu padre: ella es la misma carne de tu padre.
9 "You wil not have intercourse with your sister, whether she is your father's or your mother's daughter.Whether she was born in the same house or elsewhere, you wil not have intercourse with her.	9 No tendrás relaciones con tu hermana, sea hija de tu padre o de tu madre, sea que haya nacido en la casa o fuera de ella.
10 "You will not have intercourse with your son's or your daughter's daughter; for their sexual privacy isyour own.	10 No tendrás relaciones con tu nieta, sea por parte de tu hijo o de tu hija, porque es tu misma carne.
11 "You will not have intercourse with the daughter of your father's wife, born to your father. She is yoursister; you wil not have intercourse with her.	11 No tendrás relaciones con la hija de una mujer de tu padre: ella es descendiente de tu padre, hermana tuya, y tú no debes tener relaciones con ella.
12 "You will not have intercourse with your father's sister; for she is your father's own flesh and blood.	12 No tendrás relaciones con la hermana de tu padre: ella es la misma carne que tu padre.
13 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister; for she is your mother's own flesh and blood.	13 No tendrás relaciones con la hermana de tu madre, porque ella es la misma carne que tu madre.
14 "You will not have intercourse with your father's brother; you wil not approach his wife. She is youraunt.	14 No tendrás relaciones con la mujer del hermano de tu padre: no te acercarás a ella, que es tu tía.
15 "You will not have intercourse with your daughter-in-law. She is your son's wife; you wil not haveintercourse with her.	15 No tendrás relaciones con tu nuera: ella es la esposa de tu hijo, y por eso, debes no debes tener relaciones con ella.
16 "You will not have intercourse with your brother's wife; it is your brother's sexual prerogative.	16 No tendrás relaciones con la esposa de tu hermano: es la misma carne que tu hermano.
17 "You will not have intercourse with a woman and her daughter; nor wil you take her son's or herdaughter's daughter, to have intercourse with them. They are your own flesh and blood; it would be incest.	17 No tendrás relaciones a un mismo tiempo con una mujer y con su hija, ni te casarás con su nieta, sea por parte de su hijo o de su hija: son de la misma carne que esa mujer, y tener relaciones con ellas es una depravación.
18 "You will not take a woman and her sister into your harem at the same time, to have intercourse withthe latter while the former is stil alive.	18 No te casarás con la hermana de tu esposa ni tendrás relaciones con ella mientras viva tu esposa, provocando su rivalidad.
19 "You will not approach and have intercourse with a woman who is in a state of menstrual pol ution.	19 No te acercarás a una mujer, para tener relaciones con ella, durante el período de su impureza menstrual.
20 "Furthermore, you will not have intercourse with your fel ow-citizen's wife; you would become uncleanby doing so.	20 No tendrás relaciones con la mujer de tu prójimo, haciéndote impuro con ella.
21 "You will not al ow any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech, thus profaning the name of yourGod. I am Yahweh.	21 No entregarás a ninguno de tus descendientes para inmolarlo a Moloc, y no profanarás el nombre de tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
22 "You will not have intercourse with a man as you would with a woman. This is a hateful thing.	22 No te acostarás con un varón como si fuera una mujer: es una abominación.
23 "You will not have intercourse with any kind of animal; you would become unclean by doing so. Norwil a woman offer herself to an animal, to have intercourse with it. This would be a violation of nature.	23 No tendrás trato sexual con una bestia, haciéndote impuro con ella; y ninguna mujer se ofrecerá a un animal para unirse con él: es una perversión.
24 "Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these practices, for it was by such things that the nationsthat I am driving out before you made themselves unclean.	24 No se harán impuros de ninguna de esas maneras, porque así lo hicieron las naciones que yo voy a expulsar delante de ustedes,
25 The country has become unclean; hence I am about to punish it for its guilt, and the country itself willvomit out its inhabitants.	25 y por eso el país quedó profanado. Yo les he pedido cuenta de su iniquidad, y el país ha vomitado a sus habitantes.
26 "You, however, must keep my laws and customs and not do any of these hateful things: none of yourcitizens, none of your resident aliens.	26 Pero ustedes observarán mis preceptos y mis leyes, y no cometerán ninguna de esas abominaciones, tanto el nativo como el extranjero que resida en medio de ustedes.
27 For al these hateful things were done by the people who lived in the country before you, and thecountry became unclean.	27 Porque todas esas abominaciones fueron cometidas por los hombres que habitaron el país antes que ustedes, y por eso el país ha sido profanado.
28 If you make it unclean, wil it not vomit you out as it vomited out the nations there before you?	28 Que la tierra no los tenga que vomitar también a ustedes, a causa de sus impurezas, como vomitó a la nación que estaba antes que ustedes.
29 Yes, anyone who does any of these hateful things, whatever it may be, any person doing so, wil beoutlawed from his people;	29 Porque todo el que cometa una de esas abominaciones será excluido de su pueblo.
30 so keep my rules and do not observe any of the hateful laws which were in force before you came;then you wil not be made unclean by them. I am Yahweh your God." '	30 Cumplan, entonces, mis prescripciones, y no hagan ninguna de esas cosas abominables que se hicieron antes, y así no se harán impuros a causa de ellas. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
