Isaiah 7

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 In the reign of Ahaz son of Jotham, son of Uzziah king of Judah, Razon king of Aram advanced onJerusalem with Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, to attack it; but he was unable to attack it.	1 No tempo de Acaz, filho de Joatão, filho de Ozias, rei de Judá, Rasin, rei de Arão, foi com Pecá, filho de Romelia, rei de Israel, contra Jerusalém para lhe dar combate; mas não pôde apoderar-se dela.
2 The House of David was informed: 'Aram has halted in Ephraimite territory.' At this, his heart and hispeople's hearts shook like forest trees shaking in the wind.	2 Quando se soube, na casa de Davi, que {o exército da} Síria estava acampado em Efraim, o coração do rei e o de seu povo ficaram perturbados como as árvores das florestas agitadas pelos ventos.
3 Yahweh then said to Isaiah, 'Go out with your son Shear-Jashub, and meet Ahaz at the end of theconduit of the upper pool, on the road to the Ful er's Field,	3 Então disse o Senhor a Isaías: Vai ter com Acaz, com Sear-Jasub, teu filho, na extremidade do aqueduto do reservatório superior, no caminho do campo do pisoeiro.
4 and say to him, "Pay attention and keep calm. Do not be frightened or demoralised by these twosmouldering sticks of firewood, by the fierce anger of Razon, Aram and the son of Remaliah,	4 E dize-lhe: Tem ânimo, não temas, não vacile o teu coração diante desses dois pedaços de tições fumegantes. {Diante do furor de Rasin, da Síria, e do filho de Romelia}.
5 or because Aram, Ephraim and the son of Remaliah have been plotting against you and saying:	5 Visto que a Síria decidiu tua perdição, com Efraim e o filho de Romelia, dizendo:
6 Let us mount an attack on Judah, destroy it, force it onto our side and instal the son of Tabeel there asking.	6 Vamos contra Judá, nós o bateremos, e nos apoderaremos dele, e proclamaremos rei o filho de Tabeel.
7 "Lord Yahweh says this: This wil not happen, it wil never occur,	7 Eis o que disse o Senhor Javé: Isso não acontecerá, essas coisas não se realizarão,
8 for the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Razon; another sixty-five years, andEphraim wil cease to be a people.	8 porque a capital da Síria é Damasco, e a cabeça de Damasco é Rasin. {Dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim desaparecerá do rol dos povos.}
9 The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If you wil not takeyour stand on me you wil not stand firm." '	9 E a capital de Efraim é Samaria, e a cabeça de Samaria é o filho de Romelia. Se não o crerdes, não subsistireis.
10 Yahweh spoke to Ahaz again and said:	10 O Senhor disse ainda a Acaz:
11 Ask Yahweh your God for a sign, either in the depths of Sheol or in the heights above.	11 Pede ao Senhor teu Deus um sinal, seja do fundo da habitação dos mortos, seja lá do alto.
12 But Ahaz said, 'I wil not ask. I wil not put Yahweh to the test.'	12 Acaz respondeu: De maneira alguma! Não quero pôr o Senhor à prova.
13 He then said: Listen now, House of David: are you not satisfied with trying human patience that youshould try my God's patience too?	13 Isaías respondeu: Ouvi, casa de Davi: Não vos basta fatigar a paciência dos homens? Pretendeis cansar também o meu Deus?
14 The Lord wil give you a sign in any case: It is this: the young woman is with child and wil give birth to ason whom she wil cal Immanuel.	14 Por isso, o próprio Senhor vos dará um sinal: uma virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e o chamará Deus Conosco.
15 On curds and honey wil he feed until he knows how to refuse the bad and choose the good.	15 Ele será nutrido com manteiga e mel até que saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.
16 Before the child knows how to refuse the bad and choose the good, the lands whose two kings arefrightening you will be deserted.	16 Porque antes que o menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra, cujos dois reis tu temes, será devastada.
17 Yahweh wil bring times for you, your people and your ancestral House, such as have not been seensince Ephraim broke away from Judah (the king of Assyria).	17 O Senhor fará vir sobre ti, sobre teu povo e sobre a casa de teu pai, dias tais como não houve desde que Efraim se separou de Judá {o rei dos assírios}.
18 When that day comes, Yahweh wil whistle up mosquitoes from the distant streams of Egypt and beesfrom the land of Assyria,	18 Naquele dia, o Senhor assobiará às moscas que estão nas margens dos rios do Egito e às abelhas da terra da Assíria.
19 and they wil al come and settle on the streams in the gul ies, in the holes in the rocks, on al the thorn-bushes and on all the water-points.	19 Elas virão pousar em massa nos vales escarpados, nas cavernas dos rochedos, sobre todas as moitas e todas as pastagens.
20 That day the Lord wil shave, with a razor hired from the other side of the River (with the king ofAssyria), the head and the hair of the leg, and take off the beard, too.	20 Naquele tempo, com uma navalha emprestada do outro lado do rio {com o rei da Assíria} o Senhor vos raspará a cabeça e os pêlos das pernas, assim como a barba.
21 When that day comes, each man wil raise one heifer and two sheep,	21 Naquele tempo, cada homem manterá uma vaca e duas ovelhas;
22 and because of the abundant milk they give (on curds will he feed) al who are left in the country wilfeed on curds and honey.	22 comer-se-á a manteiga de todo o leite que elas derem, porque é de manteiga e mel que viverão aqueles que subsistirem na terra.
23 When that day comes, wherever there used to be a thousand vines worth a thousand pieces of silver,al wil be brambles and thorn-bushes;	23 Naquele tempo, todo terreno que contiver mil vides valendo mil siclos de prata será abandonado às sarças e aos espinhos.
24 to be ventured into only with arrows and bow, for the country wil be nothing but brambles and thorn-bushes.	24 Ali só se entrará com setas e arcos, porque toda aquela terra estará coberta de sarças e espinhos.
25 No more wil you venture on any hil side formerly under the hoe for fear of the brambles and thorn-bushes; it will be fit only for pasturing the cattle, a tramping-ground for sheep.	25 Não se voltará mais aos montes que eram cultivados à enxada, por causa das sarças e dos espinhos; será permitido aos bois pastá-los e serão pisados pelos carneiros.
