1 Proclamation about Moab: Laid waste in a night, Ar-Moab lies silent; Laid waste in a night, Kir-Moablies silent.	1 משא מואב כי בליל שדד ער מואב נדמה כי בליל שדד קיר מואב נדמה
2 The daughter of Dibon has climbed to the high places to weep; on Nebo and in Medeba Moab laments.Every head shaven, every beard cut off,	2 עלה הבית ודיבן הבמות לבכי על נבו ועל מידבא מואב ייליל בכל ראשיו קרחה כל זקן גרועה
3 they wear sackcloth in their streets; on their roofs and in their squares, everyone is lamenting andcol apsing in tears.	3 בחוצתיו חגרו שק על גגותיה וברחבתיה כלה ייליל ירד בבכי
4 Heshbon and Elealeh are crying out in distress, their voices can be heard as far as Jahaz. That is whythe warriors of Moab are shivering, his soul trembles at the sound.	4 ותזעק חשבון ואלעלה עד יהץ נשמע קולם על כן חלצי מואב יריעו נפשו ירעה לו
5 His heart cries out in distress for Moab, whose fugitives are already at Zoar, nearly at Eglath-Shelishiyah. They climb the slope of Luhith, weeping as they go; on the road to Horonaim they utter heart-rending cries.	5 לבי למואב יזעק בריחה עד צער עגלת שלשיה כי מעלה הלוחית בבכי יעלה בו כי דרך חורנים זעקת שבר יעערו
6 The Waters of Nimrim have become a waste land, the grass dried up, the plants withered away,nothing green any more.	6 כי מי נמרים משמות יהיו כי יבש חציר כלה דשא ירק לא היה
7 That is why they are carrying what they could save of their stores across the Ravine of the Wil ows.	7 על כן יתרה עשה ופקדתם על נחל הערבים ישאום
8 For the cry for help re-echoes round the territory of Moab; their wailing, right to Eglaim, to Beer-Elim,their wailing;	8 כי הקיפה הזעקה את גבול מואב עד אגלים יללתה ובאר אילים יללתה
9 Dimon's waters are swol en with blood, and I have worse in store for Dimon: a lion for those of Moabwho survive, for those left on its soil.	9 כי מי דימון מלאו דם כי אשית על דימון נוספות לפליטת מואב אריה ולשארית אדמה
