Proverbs 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 My child, if you take my words to heart, if you set store by my commandments,	1 Hijo mío, si recibes mis palabras y guardas contigo mis mandamientos,
2 tuning your ear to wisdom, tuning your heart to understanding,	2 prestando oído a la sabiduría e inclinando tu corazón al entendimiento;
3 yes, if your plea is for clear perception, if you cry out for understanding,	3 si llamas a la inteligencia y elevas tu voz hacia el entendimiento,
4 if you look for it as though for silver, search for it as though for buried treasure,	4 si la buscas como si fuera plata y la exploras como un tesoro,
5 then you wil understand what the fear of Yahweh is, and discover the knowledge of God.	5 entonces comprenderás el temor del Señor y encontrarás la ciencia de Dios.
6 For Yahweh himself is giver of wisdom, from his mouth issue knowledge and understanding.	6 Porque el Señor da la sabiduría, de su boca proceden la ciencia y la inteligencia.
7 He reserves his advice for the honest, a shield to those whose ways are sound;	7 El reserva su auxilio para los hombres rectos, es un escudo para los que caminan con integridad;
8 he stands guard over the paths of equity, he keeps watch over the way of those faithful to him.	8 él protege los senderos de la equidad y cuida el camino de sus fieles.
9 Then you wil understand uprightness, equity and fair dealing, the paths that lead to happiness.	9 Entonces comprenderás la justicia y la equidad, la rectitud y todas las sendas del bien.
10 When wisdom comes into your heart and knowledge fil s your soul with delight,	10 Porque la sabiduría penetrará en tu corazón y la ciencia será la delicia de tu alma;
11 then prudence wil be there to watch over you, and understanding wil be your guardian	11 la reflexión cuidará de ti y la inteligencia te protegerá,
12 to keep you from the way that is evil, from those whose speech is deceitful,	12 para librarte del mal camino, del hombre que habla con perversidad;
13 from those who leave the paths of honesty to walk the roads of darkness:	13 de los que abandonan los senderos de la rectitud, para tomar por caminos tenebrosos;
14 those who find their joy in doing wrong, and their delight in deceitfulness,	14 de los que gozan haciendo el mal y se regocijan en las perversiones de la maldad;
15 whose tracks are twisted, and the paths that they tread crooked.	15 de los que van por caminos tortuosos y por senderos retorcidos.
16 To keep you, too, from the woman who belongs to another, from the stranger, with her wheedlingwords;	16 Así te librarás de la mujer ajena, de la extraña que se vale de palabras seductoras,
17 she has left the partner of her younger days, she has forgotten the covenant of her God;	17 que abandona al amigo de su juventud y olvida la alianza de su Dios.
18 her house is tilting towards Death, down to the Shades go her paths.	18 su casa se hunde en la muerte y sus senderos van hacia las Sombras;
19 Of those who go to her not one returns, they never regain the paths of life.	19 los que entren en ella no podrán volver atrás ni alcanzarán los senderos de la vida.
20 Thus you wil tread the way of good people, persisting in the paths of the upright.	20 Así tú irás por el camino de los buenos y seguirás el sendero de los justos,
21 For the land will be for the honest to live in, the innocent will have it for their home;	21 porque los rectos habitarán la tierra y los hombres íntegros permanecerán en ella.
22 while the wicked wil be cut off from the land, and the faithless rooted out of it.	22 Pero los malvados serán extirpados de la tierra y los traidores serán arrancados de ella.
