1 'You will not spread false rumours. You wil not lend support to the wicked by giving untrue evidence.	1 Du sollst kein leeres Gerücht verbreiten. Biete deine Hand nicht dem, der Unrecht hat, indem du als falscher Zeuge auftrittst.
2 You will not be led into wrong-doing by the majority nor, when giving evidence in a lawsuit, side withthe majority to pervert the course of justice;	2 Du sollst dich nicht der Mehrheit anschließen, wenn sie im Unrecht ist, und sollst in einem Rechtsverfahren nicht so aussagen, dass du dich der Mehrheit fügst und das Recht beugst.
3 nor wil you show partiality to the poor in a lawsuit.	3 Du sollst auch den Geringen in seinem Rechtsstreit nicht begünstigen.
4 'If you come on your enemy's ox or donkey straying, you wil take it back to him.	4 Wenn du dem verirrten Rind oder dem Esel deines Feindes begegnest, sollst du ihm das Tier zurückbringen.
5 If you see the donkey of someone who hates you fal en under its load, do not stand back; you must goand help him with it.	5 Wenn du siehst, wie der Esel deines Gegners unter der Last zusammenbricht, dann lass ihn nicht im Stich, sondern leiste ihm Hilfe!
6 'You will not cheat the poor among you of their rights at law.	6 Du sollst das Recht des Armen in seinem Rechtsstreit nicht beugen.
7 Keep clear of fraud. Do not cause the death of the innocent or upright, and do not acquit the guilty.	7 Von einem unlauteren Verfahren sollst du dich fern halten. Wer unschuldig und im Recht ist, den bring nicht um sein Leben; denn ich spreche den Schuldigen nicht frei.
8 You will accept no bribes, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and is the ruin of the cause of the upright.	8 Du sollst dich nicht bestechen lassen; denn Bestechung macht Sehende blind und verkehrt die Sache derer, die im Recht sind.
9 'You will not oppress the alien; you know how an alien feels, for you yourselves were once aliens inEgypt.	9 Einen Fremden sollst du nicht ausbeuten. Ihr wisst doch, wie es einem Fremden zumute ist; denn ihr selbst seid in Ägypten Fremde gewesen.
10 'For six years you will sow your land and gather its produce,	10 Sechs Jahre kannst du in deinem Land säen und die Ernte einbringen;
11 but in the seventh year you will let it lie fal ow and forgo al produce from it, so that those of yourpeople who are poor can take food from it and the wild animals eat what they have left. You wil do the samewith your vineyard and your olive grove.	11 im siebten sollst du es brach liegen lassen und nicht bestellen. Die Armen in deinem Volk sollen davon essen, den Rest mögen die Tiere des Feldes fressen. Das Gleiche sollst du mit deinem Weinberg und deinen Ölbäumen tun.
12 'For six days you wil do your work, and on the seventh you will rest, so that your ox and your donkeymay rest and the child of your slave-girl have a breathing space, and the alien too.	12 Sechs Tage kannst du deine Arbeit verrichten, am siebten Tag aber sollst du ruhen, damit dein Rind und dein Esel ausruhen und der Sohn deiner Sklavin und der Fremde zu Atem kommen.
13 'Take notice of everything I have told you and do not mention the name of any other god: let noneever be heard from your lips.	13 Auf alles, was ich euch gesagt habe, sollt ihr achten. Den Namen eines anderen Gottes sollt ihr nicht aussprechen, er soll dir nicht über die Lippen kommen.
14 'Three times a year you wil hold a festival in my honour.	14 Dreimal im Jahr sollst du mir ein Fest feiern.
15 You wil observe the feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you wil eat unleavened bread, as Ihave commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt. Noone will appear before me empty-handed.	15 Du sollst das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote halten. Im Monat Abib sollst du zur festgesetzten Zeit sieben Tage lang ungesäuertes Brot essen, wie ich es dir geboten habe. Denn in diesem Monat bist du aus Ägypten ausgezogen. Man soll nicht mit leeren Händen vor mir erscheinen.
16 You wil also observe the feast of Harvest, of the first-fruits of your labours in sowing the fields, andthe feast of Ingathering, at the end of the year, once you have brought the fruits of your labours in from the fields.	16 Du sollst auch das Fest der Ernte, des ersten Ertrags deiner Aussaat auf dem Feld, halten, ebenso das Fest der Lese am Ende des Jahres, wenn du den Ertrag deines Feldes eingebracht hast.
17 Three times a year al your menfolk will appear before Lord Yahweh.	17 Dreimal im Jahr sollen alle deine Männer vor dem Herrn erscheinen.
18 'You wil not offer the blood of my victim with leavened bread, nor wil the fat of my feast be kept tilthe following day.	18 Beim Schlachten sollst du das Blut meines Opfers nicht über gesäuertes Brot fließen lassen. Das Fett meines Festopfers darf nicht bis zum Morgen liegen bleiben.
19 'You wil bring the best of the first-fruits of your soil to the house of Yahweh your God. 'You wil notboil a kid in its mother's milk.	19 Von den Erstlingsfrüchten deines Ackers sollst du die besten in das Haus des Herrn, deines Gottes, bringen. Das Junge einer Ziege sollst du nicht in der Milch seiner Mutter kochen.
20 'Look, I am sending an angel to precede you, to guard you as you go and bring you to the place that Ihave prepared.	20 Ich werde einen Engel schicken, der dir vorausgeht. Er soll dich auf dem Weg schützen und dich an den Ort bringen, den ich bestimmt habe.
21 Revere him and obey what he says. Do not defy him: he wil not forgive any wrong-doing on yourpart, for my name is in him.	21 Achte auf ihn und hör auf seine Stimme! Widersetz dich ihm nicht! Er würde es nicht ertragen, wenn ihr euch auflehnt; denn in ihm ist mein Name gegenwärtig.
22 If, however, you obey what he says and do whatever I order, I shal be an enemy to your enemiesand a foe to your foes.	22 Wenn du auf seine Stimme hörst und alles tust, was ich sage, dann werde ich der Feind deiner Feinde sein und alle in die Enge treiben, die dich bedrängen.
23 My angel wil precede you and lead you to the home of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, theCanaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, whom I shal exterminate.	23 Wenn mein Engel dir vorausgeht und dich in das Land der Amoriter, Hetiter, Perisiter, Kanaaniter, Hiwiter und Jebusiter führt und wenn ich sie verschwinden lasse,
24 You wil not bow down to their gods or worship them or observe their rites, but throw them down andsmash their cultic stones.	24 dann sollst du dich vor ihren Göttern nicht niederwerfen und dich nicht verpflichten, ihnen zu dienen. Du sollst keine Kultgegenstände herstellen wie sie, sondern sie zerstören und ihre Steinmale zerschlagen.
25 You wil worship Yahweh your God, and then I shal bless your food and water, and keep you free ofsickness.	25 Wenn ihr dem Herrn, eurem Gott, dient, wird er dein Brot und dein Wasser segnen. Ich werde Krankheiten von dir fern halten.
26 In your country no woman will miscarry, none be sterile, and I shall give you your ful term of life.	26 In deinem Land wird es keine Frau geben, die eine Fehlgeburt hat oder kinderlos bleibt. Ich lasse dich die volle Zahl deiner Lebenstage erreichen.
27 'I shal send terror of myself ahead of you; I shal throw al the peoples you encounter into confusion,and make al your enemies take to their heels.	27 Ich sende meinen Schrecken vor dir her, ich verwirre jedes Volk, zu dem du kommst, und alle deine Feinde lasse ich vor dir die Flucht ergreifen.
28 I shal send hornets ahead of you to drive Hivite, Canaanite and Hittite out before you.	28 Ich lasse vor dir Panik ausbrechen; sie wird die Hiwiter, Kanaaniter und Hetiter vor dir hertreiben.
29 I shal not drive them out ahead of you in a single year, or the land might become a desert where wildanimals would multiply to your cost.	29 Ich vertreibe sie aber nicht gleich im ersten Jahr; sonst verödet das Land und die wilden Tiere könnten zu deinem Schaden überhand nehmen.
30 I shal drive them out little by little before you, until your numbers grow sufficient for you to takepossession of the land.	30 Nur allmählich will ich sie vor dir zurückdrängen, bis du so zahlreich geworden bist, dass du das Land in Besitz nehmen kannst.
31 And your frontiers I shall fix from the Sea of Reeds to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desertto the River, for I shal put the inhabitants of the territory at your mercy, and you will drive them out before you.	31 Ich setze deine Landesgrenzen fest vom Schilfmeer bis zum Philistermeer, von der Wüste bis zum Strom. Wenn ich die Einwohner des Landes in deine Hand gebe und du sie vertreibst,
32 You wil make no pact with them or with their gods.	32 dann sollst du keinen Bund mit ihnen und ihren Göttern schließen.
33 They may not stay in your country or they might make you sin against me, for you would serve theirgods, and that would be a snare for you!'	33 Sie sollen nicht in deinem Land bleiben. Sonst könnten sie dich zur Sünde gegen mich verführen, sodass du ihre Götter verehrst; denn dann würde dir das zu einer Falle.
