1 When the wedding feast was over, Tobit cal ed his son Tobias and said, 'My son, you ought to thinkabout paying the amount due to your fellow travel er; give him more than the figure agreed on.'	1 À la fin du repas de noces, Tobit appela son fils Tobie et lui dit: “Mon fils, il faut régler ce que tu dois à ton compagnon. Tu rajouteras au prix convenu.”
2 'Father,' he replied, 'how much am I to give him for his help? Even if I give him half the goods hebrought back with me, I shal not be the loser.	2 Tobie demanda: “Père, comment pourrais-je le payer pour ses services? 3 He has brought me back safe and sound, he has cured my wife, he has brought the money back too,and now he has cured you as wel . 4 Tobit said, 'He has richly earned half what he brought back'.	4 Tobit répondit: “Ce serait juste qu’il garde la moitié de ce qu’il a rapporté.”
5 So Tobias cal ed his companion and said, 'Take half of what you brought back, in payment for al youhave done, and go in peace.'	5 Tobie appela donc son compagnon et lui dit: “Garde la moitié de ce que tu as rapporté, ce sera le prix de tes services; et puis tu t’en iras en paix.”
6 Then Raphael took them both aside and said, 'Bless God, utter his praise before al the living for thefavour he has shown you. Bless and extol his name. Proclaim before all people the deeds of God as theydeserve, and never tire of giving him thanks.	6 Alors Raphaël les prit tous les deux à part et il leur dit: “Bénissez Dieu! Célébrez-le au milieu de tous les vivants pour ses bienfaits à votre égard! Bénissez et chantez son Nom! Faites connaître à tous les œuvres de Dieu, comme elles le méritent, et ne cessez pas de le remercier!
7 It is right to keep the secret of a king, yet right to reveal and publish the works of God as they deserve.Do what is good, and no evil can befall you.	7 Il est bon de garder le secret du roi, mais il est très recommandé de révéler et de publier les merveilles de Dieu. Remerciez-le comme il convient. “Faites ce qui est bien et vous ne connaîtrez pas le malheur.
8 'Prayer with fasting and alms with uprightness are better than riches with iniquity. Better to practisealmsgiving than to hoard up gold.	8 Mieux vaut la prière et le jeûne, l’aumône et la justice, que la richesse avec l’injustice; mieux vaut avoir peu et être juste, qu’avoir beaucoup en étant pécheur.
9 Almsgiving saves from death and purges every kind of sin. Those who give alms have their fill of days;	9 L’aumône libère de la mort, elle purifie de tout péché; ceux qui font l’aumône connaîtront une longue vie,
10 those who commit sin and do evil bring harm on themselves.	10 ceux qui commettent le péché et le mal, attentent à leur vie.
11 'I am going to tel you the whole truth, hiding nothing from you. I have already told you that it is rightto keep the secret of a king, yet right too to reveal in a worthy way the words of God.	11 “Je vais vous dire toute la vérité et je ne vous cacherai rien. 12 So you must know that when you and Sarah were at prayer, it was I who offered your supplicationsbefore the glory of the Lord and who read them; so too when you were burying the dead.	12 Sachez-le donc: lorsque vous étiez en prière, toi et Sarra, c’était moi qui présentait votre prière devant la Gloire du Seigneur. C’est donc lui qu’il faut bénir tout au long des jours, c’est lui qu’il faut chanter.
19 You thought you saw me eating, but that was appearance and no more.	19 Vous avez cru me voir manger, mais ce n’était qu’une apparence.
20 Now bless the Lord on earth and give thanks to God. I am about to return to him who sent me fromabove. Write down al that has happened.' And he rose in the air.	20 Bénissez donc le Seigneur, vous qui restez sur terre, et rendez grâce à Dieu pendant que je remonte vers celui qui m’a envoyé. Vous mettrez par écrit tout ce qui est arrivé.” Alors Raphaël s’éleva.

They praised God with hymns; they thanked himfor having performed such wonders; had not an angel of God appeared to them?	21 Quand ils se relevèrent, ils ne le virent plus. Ils louèrent Dieu par des chants, le remerciant d’avoir fait de telles merveilles: oui, un ange de Dieu leur était apparu!
