NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Josiah then celebrated a Passover to Yahweh in Jerusalem. The Passover victims were slaughteredon the fourteenth day of the first month.	1 Giosia celebrò in Gerusalemme una Pasqua in onore del Signore; si immolò la Pasqua il quattordicesimo giorno del primo mese.
2 He assigned the priests to their posts, encouraging them to do their duty in the Temple of Yahweh.	2 Stabilì i sacerdoti nei loro uffici e li confermò nel servizio del tempio del Signore.
3 Then he said to the Levites, who had understanding for al Israel and were consecrated to Yahweh,'Put the sacred ark in the Temple built by Solomon son of David, king of Israel. You need not carry it about on your shoulders any more. Now serve Yahweh your God and Israel his people!	3 Egli disse ai leviti che istruivano tutto Israele ed erano consacrati al Signore: "Collocate l'arca santa nel tempio costruito da Salomone, figlio di Davide, re d'Israele; ciò non è più un peso per le vostre spalle. Ora servite il Signore, vostro Dio e il suo popolo Israele.
4 Prepare yourselves by families according to your orders, as laid down in the decree of David king ofIsrael and that of Solomon his son,	4 Tenetevi pronti, secondo i vostri casati, secondo le vostre classi, in conformità con la prescrizione di Davide, re d'Israele, e di Salomone, suo figlio.
5 and take up positions in the sanctuary corresponding to the family divisions of your brothers the laity,so that there are Levites for each family division.	5 State nel santuario a disposizione dei gruppi formati dai casati dei vostri fratelli, dei figli del popolo: a loro disposizione vi sia una parte di un casato dei leviti.
6 Slaughter the Passover, sanctify yourselves and prepare it so that your brothers can observe it in theway the word of Yahweh through Moses requires.'	6 Immolate la Pasqua, santificatevi, preparatela per i vostri fratelli, mettendo in esecuzione la parola del Signore trasmessa da Mosè".
7 For the laity Josiah provided small livestock, that is, lambs and young goats -- everything for thePassover offerings for al who attended -- to the number of thirty thousand, as well as three thousand bul ocks;these were from the king's own possessions.	7 Giosia donò ai figli del popolo bestiame minuto, agnelli e capretti, da servire come vittime pasquali per tutti quelli che si trovavano lì presenti. Il loro numero era di trentamila, e in più tremila buoi. Ciò proveniva dai beni del re.
8 His officials also made voluntary contributions for the people, the priests and the Levites; and Hilkiah,Zechariah and Jehiel, the chiefs of the Temple of God, gave two thousand six hundred lambs and three hundredbullocks to the priests for the Passover offerings;	8 Anche i suoi capi fecero offerte spontanee al popolo, ai sacerdoti e ai leviti. Chelkia, Zaccaria e Iechièl, sovrintendenti del tempio di Dio, offrirono ai sacerdoti come vittime pasquali duemilaseicento agnelli e trecento buoi.
9 while Conaniah, Shemaiah, Nethanel his brother, Hashabiah, Jeiel and Jozabad, the head Levites,provided five thousand lambs and five hundred bul ocks as Passover offerings for the Levites.	9 Conania, Semaia, Netaneèl, suoi fratelli, Casabia, Iechièl e Iozabàd, capi dei leviti, donarono ai leviti come vittime pasquali cinquemila agnelli e cinquecento buoi.
10 So the service was arranged, the priests stood in their places and the Levites in their orders as theking had commanded.	10 Così il servizio fu pronto: i sacerdoti si misero al loro posto, così pure i leviti, secondo le loro classi, come aveva ordinato il re.
11 Then they slaughtered the Passover victims and while the priests sprinkled the blood as theyreceived it from the Levites, the latter did the skinning.	11 Si immolò la Pasqua; i sacerdoti spargevano il sangue, mentre i leviti scorticavano la pelle.
12 Next they put the burnt offering aside for presentation to the family divisions of the laity, so that theycould offer it to Yahweh in the way prescribed in the Book of Moses; they did the same with the bul ocks.	12 Misero da parte gli olocausti per distribuirli ai figli del popolo, secondo le divisioni dei vari casati, perché li potessero offrire al Signore secondo ciò che è scritto nel libro di Mosè; lo stesso si fece per i buoi.
13 They roasted the Passover victim over an open fire in accordance with the regulation and boiled theconsecrated offerings in pots, kettles and pans, which they then distributed to al the laity as quickly as theycould.	13 Secondo la regola si arrostì l'agnello pasquale sul fuoco, mentre le parti consacrate furono cotte nelle pentole, nelle caldaie e nei tegami; il tutto fu sollecitamente distribuito ai figli del popolo.
14 Afterwards they provided for themselves and the priests, since the Aaronite priests were kept busy tilnightfall making the burnt offerings and offering the fat; that was why the Levites prepared the Passover forthemselves and for the Aaronite priests.	14 Dopo di ciò prepararono la Pasqua per se stessi e per i sacerdoti, perché i sacerdoti, figli di Aronne, furono impegnati fino alla notte nell'offrire olocausti e parti grasse; perciò i leviti fecero i preparativi per se stessi e per i sacerdoti, figli di Aronne.
15 The Asaphite singers were at their places, in accordance with the command of David and Asaph,Heman and Jeduthun the king's seer; so were the gatekeepers at each gate. Because they could not leave theirduties, their brothers the Levites prepared the Passover for them.	15 I cantori, figli di Asaf, stavano al loro posto, come avevano ordinato Davide, Asaf, Eman e Idutun, il veggente del re; i portieri stavano presso ciascuna porta. Nessuno di essi ebbe ad assentarsi dal suo posto, perché i leviti, loro fratelli, prepararono tutto per essi.
16 So the whole service of Yahweh was arranged that day to celebrate the Passover and to bring burntofferings on the altar of Yahweh, in accordance with King Josiah's command.	16 Così in quel giorno fu organizzato tutto il servizio del Signore per la celebrazione della Pasqua e per l'offerta degli olocausti sull'altare del Signore, secondo l'ordine del re Giosia.
17 On that occasion the Israelites who were present celebrated the Passover and the feast ofUnleavened Bread for seven days.	17 Gl'Israeliti che si trovavano là celebrarono la Pasqua, come anche la festa degli Azzimi, durante sette giorni.
18 No Passover like this one had ever been celebrated in Israel since the days of the prophet Samuel,nor had any of the kings of Israel ever celebrated a Passover like the one celebrated by Josiah, the priests, theLevites, al Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	18 Non si era celebrata in questo modo la Pasqua in Israele dal tempo del profeta Samuele; nessun re d'Israele aveva celebrato una Pasqua come quella che festeggiò Giosia, insieme con i sacerdoti, i leviti, tutti i Giudei e gl'Israeliti che si trovavano là con gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.
19 This Passover was celebrated in the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign.	19 Questa Pasqua fu celebrata nel diciottesimo anno del regno di Giosia.
20 After all this, when Josiah had provided for the Temple, Necho king of Egypt advanced to give battleat Carchemish on the Euphrates and Josiah went to intercept him.	20 Dopo tutto ciò che Giosia aveva fatto per riorganizzare il tempio, Necao, re d'Egitto, partì per andare a combattere a Carchemis sull'Eufrate; Giosia gli mosse incontro.
21 Necho however sent him messengers to say, 'Why be concerned about me, king of Judah? I havenot come today to attack you; my quarrel is with another dynasty. God has commanded me to move quickly, sokeep wel clear of the god who is with me!'	21 Quegli gli inviò messaggeri a dirgli: "Che cosa ho da fare con te, o re di Giuda? Non è contro di te che vengo oggi, ma contro una casa con cui mi trovo in guerra, e Dio mi ha ordinato di affrettarmi. Cessa perciò di opporti al Dio che è con me, affinché non ti distrugga".
22 But Josiah was not to be deflected from his determination to fight him, and would not listen toNecho's words, which came from the mouth of God. He gave battle in the plain of Megiddo.	22 Ma Giosia non si ritirò, anzi decise di combattere contro di lui, non prestando ascolto alle parole di Necao, che venivano da Dio; egli attaccò battaglia nella pianura di Meghiddo.
23 The archers shot King Josiah. The king then said to his retainers, 'Take me away; I am badlywounded.'	23 Gli arcieri tirarono sul re Giosia; il re ordinò ai suoi servi: "Portatemi via, perché sono gravemente ferito".
24 So his retainers lifted him out of his own chariot, transferred him to one which he had in reserve andbrought him to Jerusalem, where he died and was buried in the tombs of his ancestors. Al Judah and Jerusalemheld mourning for Josiah.	24 I suoi servi lo tolsero dal carro e fattolo salire su un altro carro, lo condussero a Gerusalemme, dove morì. Fu sepolto nei sepolcri dei suoi padri. Tutto Giuda e Gerusalemme presero il lutto per Giosia.
25 Jeremiah composed a lament for Josiah and all the male and female singers to this day lamentJosiah in their dirges; they have made it a rule in Israel; they are recorded in the Lamentations.	25 Geremia compose una lamentazione su Giosia; tutti i cantori e le cantatrici nei loro canti funebri hanno parlato di Giosia fino ad oggi; ciò divenne una regola in Israele; ecco, essi stanno iscritti nelle Lamentazioni.
26 The rest of the history of Josiah, his deeds of faithful love conforming to what is prescribed in theLaw of Yahweh,	26 Il resto degli atti di Giosia e le sue opere di pietà, conformi a ciò che sta scritto nella legge del Signore,
27 his history from first to last, are recorded in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.	27 le sue azioni, le prime come le ultime, sono descritte nel libro dei re d'Israele e di Giuda.
