NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Josiah then celebrated a Passover to Yahweh in Jerusalem. The Passover victims were slaughteredon the fourteenth day of the first month.	1 Josías celebró en Jerusalén la Pascua del Señor, e inmolaron la víctima pascual el día catorce del primer mes.
2 He assigned the priests to their posts, encouraging them to do their duty in the Temple of Yahweh.	2 Restableció a los sacerdotes en sus funciones y los animó a dedicarse enteramente al servicio de la Casa del Señor.
3 Then he said to the Levites, who had understanding for al Israel and were consecrated to Yahweh,'Put the sacred ark in the Temple built by Solomon son of David, king of Israel. You need not carry it about on your shoulders any more. Now serve Yahweh your God and Israel his people!	3 Luego dijo a los levitas que instruían a todo Israel y estaban consagrados al Señor: «Pongan el Arca santa en el Templo que edificó Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel: ya no tendrán que llevarla sobre los hombros. Ahora sirvan al Señor, su Dios, y a su pueblo Israel.
4 Prepare yourselves by families according to your orders, as laid down in the decree of David king ofIsrael and that of Solomon his son,	4 Agrúpense por familias, según sus clases, conforme a lo que establecieron por escrito David, rey de Israel, y su hijo Salomón.
5 and take up positions in the sanctuary corresponding to the family divisions of your brothers the laity,so that there are Levites for each family division.	5 Ocupen el sitio que les corresponde en el Santuario, según los grupos de las familias de sus hermanos, la gente del pueblo, de manera que a cada familia le corresponda una sección de los levitas.
6 Slaughter the Passover, sanctify yourselves and prepare it so that your brothers can observe it in theway the word of Yahweh through Moses requires.'	6 Inmolen la Pascua, santifíquense y prepárenla para sus hermanos, a fin de que ellos puedan celebrarla según la palabra del Señor transmitida por Moisés».
7 For the laity Josiah provided small livestock, that is, lambs and young goats -- everything for thePassover offerings for al who attended -- to the number of thirty thousand, as well as three thousand bul ocks;these were from the king's own possessions.	7 Josías entregó para la gente del pueblo ganado menor –corderos y cabritos –en número de treinta mil, como víctimas pascuales para todos los que se encontraban allí, y dio además tres mil bueyes. Todo esto provenía de los bienes del rey.
8 His officials also made voluntary contributions for the people, the priests and the Levites; and Hilkiah,Zechariah and Jehiel, the chiefs of the Temple of God, gave two thousand six hundred lambs and three hundredbullocks to the priests for the Passover offerings;	8 También sus jefes entregaron ofrendas voluntarias para el pueblo, los sacerdotes y los levitas. Jilquías, Zacarías y Iejiel, mayordomos de la Casa de Dios, dieron a los sacerdotes dos mil seiscientas víctimas pascuales y trescientos bueyes.
9 while Conaniah, Shemaiah, Nethanel his brother, Hashabiah, Jeiel and Jozabad, the head Levites,provided five thousand lambs and five hundred bul ocks as Passover offerings for the Levites.	9 Conanías, Semaías y Netanel, sus hermanos, y Jasabías, Ieiel y Iozabad, jefe de los levitas, dieron a estos cinco mil víctimas pascuales y quinientos bueyes.
10 So the service was arranged, the priests stood in their places and the Levites in their orders as theking had commanded.	10 Una vez organizado el servicio, los sacerdotes ocuparon sus puestos, lo mismo que los levitas, Según sus clases, conforme a la orden del rey.
11 Then they slaughtered the Passover victims and while the priests sprinkled the blood as theyreceived it from the Levites, the latter did the skinning.	11 Luego se inmoló la Pascua, y los sacerdotes hacían la aspersión con la sangre recibida de manos de los levitas, mientras estos desollaban las víctimas.
12 Next they put the burnt offering aside for presentation to the family divisions of the laity, so that theycould offer it to Yahweh in the way prescribed in the Book of Moses; they did the same with the bul ocks.	12 Además, cuando daban su parte a los grupos de familias de la gente del pueblo, separaban lo que se debía ofrecer al Señor en holocausto, como está escrito en el libro de Moisés. E hicieron lo mismo con los bueyes.
13 They roasted the Passover victim over an open fire in accordance with the regulation and boiled theconsecrated offerings in pots, kettles and pans, which they then distributed to al the laity as quickly as theycould.	13 Después asaron al fuego la víctima pascual, como está establecido, cocinaron las otras ofrendas consagradas, en ollas, cacerolas y fuentes, y las repartieron rápidamente entre toda la gente del pueblo.
14 Afterwards they provided for themselves and the priests, since the Aaronite priests were kept busy tilnightfall making the burnt offerings and offering the fat; that was why the Levites prepared the Passover forthemselves and for the Aaronite priests.	14 Luego prepararon la Pascua para ellos y para los sacerdotes, porque los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, habían estado ocupados en ofrecer los holocaustos y las grasas hasta la noche: por eso los levitas prepararon la Pascua para sí mismos y para los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón.
15 The Asaphite singers were at their places, in accordance with the command of David and Asaph,Heman and Jeduthun the king's seer; so were the gatekeepers at each gate. Because they could not leave theirduties, their brothers the Levites prepared the Passover for them.	15 Los cantores, hijos de Asaf, estaban en sus puestos, según las prescripciones de David y de Asaf, de Hemán y de Iedutún, el vidente del rey; y también los porteros ocupaban cada uno su puesto: ninguno de ellos tuvo necesidad de apartarse de su servicio, porque sus hermanos, los levitas, les prepararon la Pascua.
16 So the whole service of Yahweh was arranged that day to celebrate the Passover and to bring burntofferings on the altar of Yahweh, in accordance with King Josiah's command.	16 Así se organizó aquel día todo el servicio del Señor, para celebrar la Pascua y ofrecer los holocaustos sobre el altar del Señor, según la orden del rey Josías.
17 On that occasion the Israelites who were present celebrated the Passover and the feast ofUnleavened Bread for seven days.	17 Los israelitas que se encontraban allí celebraron la Pascua en aquella ocasión, y también la fiesta de los Acimos durante siete días.
18 No Passover like this one had ever been celebrated in Israel since the days of the prophet Samuel,nor had any of the kings of Israel ever celebrated a Passover like the one celebrated by Josiah, the priests, theLevites, al Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	18 Nunca se había celebrado en Israel una Pascua como esta desde los días del profeta Samuel; ninguno de los reyes de Israel había celebrado una Pascua como la que celebró Josías con los sacerdotes y los levitas, con todo Judá, con los israelitas allí presentes y con los habitantes de Jerusalén.
19 This Passover was celebrated in the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign.	19 Fue el año dieciocho del reinado de Josías cuando se celebró esta Pascua.
20 After all this, when Josiah had provided for the Temple, Necho king of Egypt advanced to give battleat Carchemish on the Euphrates and Josiah went to intercept him.	20 Después de todo esto, cuando Josías ya había reorganizado el culto del Templo, subió Necao, rey de Egipto, para combatir en Carquemís, junto al río Eufrates. Josías le salió al paso,
21 Necho however sent him messengers to say, 'Why be concerned about me, king of Judah? I havenot come today to attack you; my quarrel is with another dynasty. God has commanded me to move quickly, sokeep wel clear of the god who is with me!'	21 pero Necao le envió mensajeros para decirle: «¿Qué hay entre nosotros, rey de Judá? Ahora no vengo contra ti, sino contra una dinastía que me hace la guerra. Dios me ha dicho que me apure. No te opongas a Dios, que está conmigo, no sea que él te destruya».
22 But Josiah was not to be deflected from his determination to fight him, and would not listen toNecho's words, which came from the mouth of God. He gave battle in the plain of Megiddo.	22 Pero Josías no cedió, y se obstinó en combatirlo. Sin escuchar las palabras de Necao, que procedían de la boca de Dios, fue a presentarle batalla en la llanura de Meguido.
23 The archers shot King Josiah. The king then said to his retainers, 'Take me away; I am badlywounded.'	23 Los arqueros dispararon contra el rey Josías, y este dijo a sus servidores: «Sáquenme, porque estoy gravemente herido».
24 So his retainers lifted him out of his own chariot, transferred him to one which he had in reserve andbrought him to Jerusalem, where he died and was buried in the tombs of his ancestors. Al Judah and Jerusalemheld mourning for Josiah.	24 Sus servidores lo sacaron de su carro de guerra, lo subieron a otro carro y lo llevaron a Jerusalén, donde murió. El fue sepultado en los sepulcros de sus padres, y todo Judá y Jerusalén hicieron duelo por Josías.
25 Jeremiah composed a lament for Josiah and all the male and female singers to this day lamentJosiah in their dirges; they have made it a rule in Israel; they are recorded in the Lamentations.	25 Jeremías compuso una lamentación sobre Josías, y todos los cantores y cantoras han hablado de él en sus cantos fúnebres hasta el día de hoy. 26 The rest of the history of Josiah, his deeds of faithful love conforming to what is prescribed in theLaw of Yahweh,	26 El resto de los hechos del rey Josías, sus obras de piedad, acordes con lo que prescribe la Ley del Señor,
