2 Kings 25

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar kingof Babylon advanced on Jerusalem with his entire army; he pitched camp in front of the city and threw upearthworks round it.	1 Nell’anno nono del suo regno, nel decimo mese, il dieci del mese, Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, con tutto il suo esercito arrivò a Gerusalemme, si accampò contro di essa e vi costruirono intorno opere d'assedio.
2 The city lay under siege til the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.	2 La città rimase assediata fino all’undicesimo anno del re Sedecìa.
3 In the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, when famine was raging in the city and there wasno food for the populace,	3 Al quarto mese, il nove del mese, quando la fame dominava la città e non c’era più pane per il popolo della terra,
4 a breach was made in the city wal . The king then made his escape under cover of dark, with all thefighting men, by way of the gate between the two wal s, which is near the king's garden -- the Chaldaeans hadsurrounded the city -- and made his way towards the Arabah.	4 fu aperta una breccia nella città. Allora tutti i soldati fuggirono di notte per la via della porta tra le due mura, presso il giardino del re, e, mentre i Caldei erano intorno alla città, presero la via dell'Araba.
5 The Chaldaean troops pursued the king and caught up with him in the Plains of Jericho, where al histroops deserted.	5 I soldati dei Caldei inseguirono il re e lo raggiunsero nelle steppe di Gerico, mentre tutto il suo esercito si disperse, allontanandosi da lui.
6 The Chaldaeans captured the king and took him to the king of Babylon at Riblah, who passed sentenceon him.	6 Presero il re e lo condussero dal re di Babilonia a Ribla; si pronunciò la sentenza su di lui.
7 He had Zedekiah's sons slaughtered before his eyes, then put out Zedekiah's eyes and, loading himwith chains, carried him off to Babylon.	7 I figli di Sedecìa furono ammazzati davanti ai suoi occhi; Nabucodònosor fece cavare gli occhi a Sedecìa, lo fece mettere in catene e lo condusse a Babilonia.
8 In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month -- it was in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzarking of Babylon -- Nebuzaradan commander of the guard, a member of the king of Babylon's staff, enteredJerusalem.	8 Il settimo giorno del quinto mese – era l’anno diciannovesimo del re Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia – Nabuzaradàn, capo delle guardie, ufficiale del re di Babilonia, entrò in Gerusalemme.
9 He burned down the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and al the houses in Jerusalem.	9 Egli incendiò il tempio del Signore e la reggia e tutte le case di Gerusalemme; diede alle fiamme anche tutte le case dei nobili.
10 The Chaldaean troops who accompanied the commander of the guard demolished the wal ssurrounding Jerusalem.	10 Tutto l’esercito dei Caldei, che era con il capo delle guardie, demolì le mura intorno a Gerusalemme.
11 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported the remainder of the population left in the city, thedeserters who had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the common people.	11 Nabuzaradàn, capo delle guardie, deportò il resto del popolo che era rimasto in città, i disertori che erano passati al re di Babilonia e il resto della moltitudine.
12 But the commander of the guard left some of the poor country people behind as vineyard workers andploughmen.	12 Il capo delle guardie lasciò parte dei poveri della terra come vignaioli e come agricoltori.
13 The Chaldaeans broke up the bronze pil ars from the Temple of Yahweh, the wheeled stands and thebronze Sea, which were in the Temple of Yahweh, and took the bronze away to Babylon.	13 I Caldei fecero a pezzi le colonne di bronzo che erano nel tempio del Signore, i carrelli e il Mare di bronzo che erano nel tempio del Signore, e ne portarono il bronzo a Babilonia.
14 They also took the ash containers, the scoops, the knives, the incense boats, and al the bronzefurnishings used in worship.	14 Essi presero anche i recipienti, le palette, i coltelli, le coppe e tutti gli oggetti di bronzo che servivano al culto.
15 The commander of the guard also took the censers and the sprinkling bowls, everything made of goldand everything made of silver.	15 Il capo delle guardie prese anche i bracieri e i vasi per l’aspersione, quanto era d’oro e d’argento.
16 As regards the two pil ars, the one Sea and the wheeled stands, which Solomon of bronze in al theseobjects.	16 Quanto alle due colonne, all’unico Mare e ai carrelli, che aveva fatto Salomone per il tempio del Signore, non si poteva calcolare quale fosse il peso del bronzo di tutti questi oggetti.
17 The height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and on it stood a capital of bronze, the height of thecapital being five cubits; round the capital were filigree and pomegranates, al in bronze. So also for the secondpil ar.	17 L’altezza di una colonna era di diciotto cubiti, il capitello sopra di essa era di bronzo, e l’altezza del capitello era di cinque cubiti; tutto intorno al capitello c’erano un reticolo e melagrane, e il tutto era di bronzo. Così pure era l’altra colonna.
18 The commander of the guard took prisoner Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest next in rank,and the three guardians of the threshold.	18 Il capo delle guardie fece prigioniero Seraià, sacerdote capo, e Sofonia, sacerdote del secondo ordine, insieme ai tre custodi della soglia.
19 In the city he took prisoner an official who was in command of the fighting men, five of the king'spersonal friends who were discovered in the city, the secretary to the army commander, responsible for militaryconscription, and sixty men of distinction discovered in the city.	19 Dalla città egli fece prigionieri un cortigiano, che era a capo dei soldati, cinque uomini fra gli intimi del re, i quali furono trovati nella città, lo scriba del comandante dell’esercito, che arruolava il popolo della terra, e sessanta uomini del popolo della terra, trovati nella città.
20 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard took these men and brought them to the king of Babylon atRiblah,	20 Nabuzaradàn, capo delle guardie, li prese e li condusse al re di Babilonia, a Ribla.
21 and at Riblah in the territory of Hamath the king of Babylon had them put to death. Thus Judah wasdeported from its country.	21 Il re di Babilonia li colpì e li fece morire a Ribla, nel paese di Camat. Così fu deportato Giuda dalla sua terra.
22 For the people remaining in the country of Judah whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had leftbehind, he appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan as governor.	22 Quanto al popolo rimasto nella terra di Giuda, lasciatovi da Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia, gli fu posto a capo Godolia figlio di Achikàm, figlio di Safan.
23 When the military leaders and their men all heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah asgovernor, they went to him at Mizpah: Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son ofTanhumeth the Netophathite, Jaazaniah the Maacathite, they and their men.	23 Quando tutti i capi delle bande armate e i loro uomini udirono che il re di Babilonia aveva messo a capo Godolia, vennero da Godolia a Mispa. Essi erano: Ismaele, figlio di Netania, Giovanni, figlio di Karèach, Seraià, figlio di Tancùmet il Netofatita, e Iaazania, figlio del Maacatita, insieme con i loro uomini.
24 To them and to their men Gedaliah swore an oath. 'Do not be afraid of the Chaldaeans,' he said, 'stayin the country, serve the king of Babylon, and al wil go wel with you.'	24 Godolia giurò a loro e ai loro uomini e disse loro: «Non temete gli ufficiali dei Caldei; rimanete nella terra e servite il re di Babilonia e vi troverete bene».
25 But in the seventh month, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, son of Elishama, who was of royal descent, andten men with him, came and murdered Gedaliah, as wel as the Judaeans and Chaldaeans who were with him atMizpah.	25 Nel settimo mese venne Ismaele, figlio di Netania, figlio di Elisamà, di stirpe regale, con dieci uomini; costoro colpirono a morte Godolia, e anche i Giudei e i Caldei che erano con lui a Mispa.
26 Then all the people, high and low, with the military leaders, set off and went to Egypt, being afraid ofthe Chaldaeans.	26 Tutto il popolo, dal più piccolo al più grande, e i comandanti dei soldati si levarono per andare in Egitto, perché avevano paura dei Caldei.
27 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year he came to the throne, pardonedJehoiachin king of Judah and released him from prison.	27 Ora, nell’anno trentasettesimo della deportazione di Ioiachìn, re di Giuda, nel dodicesimo mese, il ventisette del mese, Evil-Merodàc, re di Babilonia, nell’anno in cui divenne re, fece grazia a Ioiachìn, re di Giuda, e lo liberò dalla prigione.
28 He treated him with kindness and al otted him a seat above those of the other kings who were withhim in Babylon.	28 Gli parlò con benevolenza e pose il suo trono al di sopra del trono dei re che si trovavano con lui a Babilonia.
29 So Jehoiachin laid aside his prisoner's garb, and for the rest of his life always ate at the king's table.	29 Gli cambiò le vesti da prigioniero e Ioiachìn prese sempre cibo alla presenza di lui per tutti i giorni della sua vita.
30 And his upkeep was permanently ensured by the king, day after day, for the rest of his life.	30 Dal re gli venne fornito il sostentamento abituale ogni giorno, per tutto il tempo della sua vita.
