2 Samuel 9

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 David asked, 'Is there anyone belonging to Saul's family left, to whom I might show faithful love forJonathan's sake?'	1 David demanda: "Est-ce qu'il y a encore un survivant de la famille de Saül, pour que je le traiteavec bonté par égard pour Jonathan?"
2 Now Saul's family had a servant whose name was Ziba. When he had been summoned to David, theking said, 'Are you Ziba?' 'At your service,' he replied.	2 Or la famille de Saül avait un serviteur, qui se nommait Ciba. On l'appela auprès de David et le roilui dit: "Tu es Ciba?" Il répondit: "Pour te servir."
3 The king said, 'Is there no one left, belonging to Saul's family, for me to treat with God's own faithfullove?' Ziba said to the king, 'There is stil one of Jonathan's sons. He has crippled feet.'	3 Le roi lui demanda: "Ne reste-t-il pas quelqu'un de la famille de Saül, pour que je le traite avecune bonté comme celle de Dieu?" Ciba répondit au roi: "Il y a encore un fils de Jonathan qui est perclus des deuxpieds" --
4 The king asked 'Where is he?' Ziba replied, 'He is living in the household of Machir son of Ammiel, atLo-Debar.'	4 "Où est-il", demanda le roi, et Ciba répondit au roi: "Il est dans la maison de Makir, fils d'Ammiel,à Lo-Debar."
5 So King David sent for him to be fetched from the house of Machir son of Ammiel at Lo-Debar.	5 Le roi l'envoya donc chercher à la maison de Makir, fils d'Ammiel, de Lo-Debar.
6 On entering David's presence, Meribbaal son of Jonathan, son of Saul, fel on his face and prostratedhimself. David said, 'Meribbaal!' He replied, 'Here I am, at your service.'	6 En arrivant auprès de David, Meribbaal, fils de Jonathan fils de Saül, tomba sur sa face et seprosterna. David dit: Meribbaal!" Et il répondit: "C'est moi, pour te servir."
7 David then said, 'Do not be afraid; I wil indeed treat you with faithful love for your father Jonathan'ssake. I shal restore all your grandfather Saul's estates to you, and you will always eat at my table.'	7 David lui dit: "N'aie pas peur, car je veux te traiter avec bonté par égard pour ton père Jonathan. Jete restituerai toutes les terres de Saül ton aïeul et tu mangeras toujours à ma table."
8 Meribbaal prostrated himself and said, 'Who is your servant, for you to show favour to a dead dog likeme?'	8 Meribbaal se prosterna et dit: "Qui est ton serviteur pour que tu fasses grâce à un chien crevé telque moi?"
9 The king then summoned Saul's servant Ziba and said, 'Everything belonging to Saul and his family, Igive to your master's son.	9 Puis le roi appela Ciba, le serviteur de Saül, et lui dit: "Tout ce qui appartient à Saül et à safamille, je le donne au fils de ton maître.
10 You must work the land for him, you and your sons and your slaves; you must harvest the produce toprovide food for your master's family to eat. But Meribbaal, your master's son, wil always take his own meals atmy table.' Now, Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty slaves.	10 Tu travailleras pour lui la terre, toi avec tes fils et tes esclaves, tu en récolteras le produit quiassurera à la famille de ton maître le pain qu'elle mangera; quant à Meribbaal, le fils de ton maître, il prendratoujours ses repas à ma table." Or Ciba avait quinze fils et vingt esclaves.
11 Ziba said to the king, 'Your servant wil do everything my lord the king has ordered his servant.' SoMeribbaal ate at David's table like one of the king's sons.	11 Ciba répondit au roi: "Ton serviteur fera tout ce que Monseigneur le roi a ordonné à sonserviteur." Donc Meribbaal mangeait à la table de David, comme l'un des fils du roi.
12 Meribbaal had a young son whose name was Micha. Al the people living in Ziba's household enteredMeribbaal's service.	12 Meribbaal avait un petit garçon qui se nommait Mika. Tous ceux qui habitaient chez Ciba étaientau service de Meribbaal.
13 Meribbaal lived in Jerusalem, since he always ate at the king's table. He was crippled in both feet.	13 Mais Meribbaal résidait à Jérusalem, puisqu'il mangeait toujours à la table du roi. Il était perclusdes deux pieds.
