2 Samuel 9

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 David asked, 'Is there anyone belonging to Saul's family left, to whom I might show faithful love forJonathan's sake?'	1 David preguntó: «¿Queda algún sobreviviente de la casa de Saúl, a quien yo pueda darle una prueba de lealtad, por amor a Jonatán?».
2 Now Saul's family had a servant whose name was Ziba. When he had been summoned to David, theking said, 'Are you Ziba?' 'At your service,' he replied.	2 Y como la casa de Saúl había tenido un servidor llamado Sibá, se lo presentaron a David. El rey le dijo: «¿Tú eres Sibá?». El respondió: «Sí, para servirte».
3 The king said, 'Is there no one left, belonging to Saul's family, for me to treat with God's own faithfullove?' Ziba said to the king, 'There is stil one of Jonathan's sons. He has crippled feet.'	3 Entonces el rey le preguntó: «¿Queda todavía alguien de la casa de Saúl, para que yo pueda cumplir con él el compromiso de fidelidad contraído ante Dios?». Sibá respondió al rey: «Queda todavía un hijo de Jonatán, que es lisiado de ambos pies».
4 The king asked 'Where is he?' Ziba replied, 'He is living in the household of Machir son of Ammiel, atLo-Debar.'	4 ¿Dónde está?», le dijo el rey. Sibá le respondió: «Está en la casa de Maquir, hijo de Amiel, en Lo Dabar».
5 So King David sent for him to be fetched from the house of Machir son of Ammiel at Lo-Debar.	5 Y el rey David mandó a buscarlo a la casa de Maquir, hijo de Amiel, en Lo Dabar.
6 On entering David's presence, Meribbaal son of Jonathan, son of Saul, fel on his face and prostratedhimself. David said, 'Meribbaal!' He replied, 'Here I am, at your service.'	6 Cuando Meribaal, hijo de Jonatán, se presentó ante David, cayó con el rostro en tierra y se postró. David le dijo: «¡Meribaal!». «Aquí estoy para servirte», respondió él.
7 David then said, 'Do not be afraid; I wil indeed treat you with faithful love for your father Jonathan'ssake. I shal restore all your grandfather Saul's estates to you, and you will always eat at my table.'	7 Luego David añadió: «No tengas miedo. Quiero darte una prueba de fidelidad, por amor a tu padre Jonatán. Voy a devolverte todas las tierras de tu antepasado Saúl, y tú compartirás siempre la mesa conmigo».
8 Meribbaal prostrated himself and said, 'Who is your servant, for you to show favour to a dead dog likeme?'	8 Meribaal se postró y dijo: «¿Quién es tu servidor, para que te fijes en un perro muerto como yo?».
9 The king then summoned Saul's servant Ziba and said, 'Everything belonging to Saul and his family, Igive to your master's son.	9 Después el rey llamó a Sibá, el servidor de Saúl, y le dijo: «Todo lo que pertenecía a Saúl y a su familia, se lo doy al hijo de tu señor.
10 You must work the land for him, you and your sons and your slaves; you must harvest the produce toprovide food for your master's family to eat. But Meribbaal, your master's son, wil always take his own meals atmy table.' Now, Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty slaves.	10 Tú trabajarás la tierra para él, y lo mismo harán tus hijos y tus esclavos. Lo que tú aportes, servirá de alimento para la casa de tu señor. En cuanto a Meribaal, compartirá siempre la mesa conmigo». Sibá, que tenía quince hijos y veinte esclavos,
11 Ziba said to the king, 'Your servant wil do everything my lord the king has ordered his servant.' SoMeribbaal ate at David's table like one of the king's sons.	11 respondió al rey: «Tu servidor obrará en todo conforme a lo que ha mandado el rey, mi señor». Meribaal comía en la mesa de David, como uno de los hijos del rey.
12 Meribbaal had a young son whose name was Micha. Al the people living in Ziba's household enteredMeribbaal's service.	12 El tenía un hijo pequeño, llamado Micá. Todos los que vivían en la casa de Sibá estaban al servicio de Meribaal,
13 Meribbaal lived in Jerusalem, since he always ate at the king's table. He was crippled in both feet.	13 y este habitaba en Jerusalén, porque compartía siempre la mesa del rey. Meribaal rengueaba de ambos pies.
