1 These are the last words of David: Thus speaks David son of Jesse, thus speaks the man raised toeminence, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the singer of the songs of Israel:	1 - Ecco le ultime parole di Davide: Disse Davide il figlio di Isai, disse l'uomo a cui fu parlatodell'unto del Dio di Giacobbe, dolce cantore in Israele:
2 The spirit of Yahweh speaks through me, his word is on my tongue;	2 «Lo spirito del Signore ha parlato per mezzo mio, e la parola [si fece udire] per mezzo della mia lingua.
3 the God of Jacob has spoken, the Rock of Israel has said to me: He whose rule is upright on earth,who rules in the fear of God,	3 Il Dio d'Israele ha parlato, il forte d'Israele mi ha detto:- Dominator degli uomini sarà il giusto, colui che domina col timore di Dio,
4 is like the morning light at sunrise (on a cloudless morning) making the grass of the earth sparkle afterrain.	4 simile alla luce dell'aurora, al sorgere del sole, quando brilla il mattino senza nubi, e simile all'erba che spunta dalla terra dopo la pioggia.
5 Yes, my House stands firm with God: he has made an eternal covenant with me, al in order, welassured; does he not bring to fruition my every victory and desire?	5 Non è da tanto la mia casa presso Dio, da contrarre con me un patto eterno, sotto ogni lato stabile e immutabile; poichè essa è tutta la mia salvezza e tutto il mio desiderio; e nulla vi ha che da quella non abbia origine.
6 But men of Belial he rejects like thorns, for these are never taken up in the hand:	6 I prevaricatori saranno tutti estirpati come le spine, che non si prendono colle mani;
7 no one touches them except with a pitchfork or spear-shaft, and then only to burn them to nothing!	7 che se alcuno le vuol toccare, si arma di un ferro o di un'asta di lancia; e, accese dal fuoco, sono ridotte in cenere -».
8 These are the names of David's champions: Ishbaal the Hachmonite leader of the Three; it was hewho brandished his spear over eight hundred men whom he had kil ed at one time.	8 Questi sono i nomi dei campioni di Davide: Colui che sedeva sulla cattedra, il più savio e il primo fra i tre, è quegli che come il piccolissimo vermicciuolo del legno, uccise ottocento uomini in una sol volta.

Yahweh brought about a great victory that day, and the people rallied behind him, although onlyto plunder.	10 E allorchè gli uomini d'Israele si ritirarono sulle alture, egli si fermò e percosse i Filistei, fino a che la mano stanca si irrigidì tenendo la spada. Il Signore concesse una gran vittoria in quel giorno, e il popolo che era fuggito ritornò agli uccisi per spogliarli.
11 Next, there was Shamma son of Elah, the Hararite. The Philistines had mustered at Lehi. 13 Three members of the Thirty went down at the beginning of the harvest and came to David at theCave of Adullam while a company of Philistines was encamped in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	13 Qualche tempo prima questi tre che erano capi tra i trenta, discesero e vennero nel tempo della mèsse a Davide nella spelonca di Odolla, mentre il campo dei Filistei era posto nella Valle dei giganti.

17 'Yahweh preserve me', he said, 'from doing such a thing! This is the blood of men who went at risk oftheir lives.' That was why he would not drink. Such were the deeds of these three champions.	17 dicendo: «Il Signore mi guardi dal far questo. Posso bere il sangue di questi uomini, che se ne andarono colà con pericolo della loro vita?». Non volle pertanto berne. Ecco cosa fecero quei tre valorosi.
18 Abishai, brother of Joab and son of Zeruiah, was leader of the Thirty. It was he who brandished hisspear over three hundred men whom he had kil ed, winning himself a name among the Thirty.	18 Anche Abisai fratello di Joab figlio di Sarvia era il primo dei tre. The Egyptian was armed with a spear, but he tookhim on with a staff, tore the spear from the Egyptian's hand and kil ed the man with it.	21 Egli ammazzò pure un egiziano d'aspetto formidabile, che teneva in mano una lancia. Discese contro di lui con un bastone, gli tolse violentemente l'asta dalle mani e lo uccise colla stessa lancia che gli aveva tolto.
22 Such were the exploits of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, winning him a name among the thirty champions.	22 Queste cose fece Banaia figlio di Joiada
23 He was a most il ustrious member of the Thirty, but he was not equal to the Three. David put him incommand of his bodyguard.	23 e anch'egli venne nominato tra i tre valorosi, che erano i più considerati fra i trenta, ma non uguagliò mai i primi tre.
