1 Jacob cal ed his sons and said, 'Gather round, so that I can tell you what is in store for you in the final days.	1 E chiamò Giacobbe i suoi figliuoli, e disse loro: Raunatevi, affinché vi annunzi le cose, che a voi succederanno ne' giorni avvenire.
2 Gather round, sons of Jacob, and listen; listen to Israel your father.	2 Raunatevi, e ascoltate, figliuoli di Giacobbe, ascoltate Israele vostro padre.
3 Reuben, you are my first-born, my vigour, and the first-fruit of my manhood, foremost in pride,foremost in strength,	3 Ruben mio primogenito, tu mia fortezza, e principio del mio dolore: il primo ai doni, il più grande in potestà.
4 uncontrol ed as water: you wil not be foremost, for you climbed into your father's bed, and so defiledmy couch, to my sorrow.	4 Tu ti sei disperso, come acqua: tu non crescerai; perché sei salito sul letto del padre tuo, e hai profanato il suo talamo.
5 Simeon and Levi are brothers in carrying out their malicious plans.	5 Simeon, e Levi fratelli, strumenti micidiali d'iniquità.
6 May my soul not enter their council nor my heart join their company, for in their rage they have kil edmen and hamstrung oxen at their whim.	6 Non abbia parte ai loro consigli l'anima mia, e la mia gloria non intervenga alle loro adunanze; perché nel loro furore uccisero l'uomo, e nel loro mal talento atterrarono la muraglia.
7 Accursed be their rage for its ruthlessness, their wrath for its ferocity. I shall disperse them in Jacob, Ishall scatter them through Israel.	7 Maledetto il loro furore perché ostinato, e la loro indegnazione, perché inflessibile: io li dividerò in Giacobbe, e li dispergerò in Israele.
8 Judah, your brothers wil praise you: you grip your enemies by the neck, your father's sons wil do youhomage.	8 Giuda, a te daran laude i tuoi fratelli: tu porrai la tua mano sulla cervice dei tuoi nemici: te adoreranno i figliuoli del padre tuo.
9 Judah is a lion's whelp; You stand over your prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, amighty lion: who dare rouse him?	9 Giuda giovin lione tu, figliuol mio, sei corso alla preda: poi riposandoti ti sei sdraiato, qual lione, e qual lionessa: chi anderà a stuzzicarlo?
10 The sceptre shall not pass from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until tribute bebrought him and the peoples render him obedience.	10 Lo scettro NON SARÀ TOLTO da Giuda, e il condottiero della stirpe di lui, fino a tanto che venga colui, che dee esser mandato, ed ei sarà l'espettazione delle nazioni.
11 He tethers his donkey to the vine, to its stock the foal of his she-donkey. He washes his clothes inwine, his robes in the blood of the grape.	11 Egli legherà alla vigna il suo asinello, e la sua asina, o figlio mio, alla vite. Laverà la sua veste col vino, e il suo pallio col sangue dell'uva.
12 His eyes are darkened with wine and his teeth are white with milk.	12 Gli occhi suoi son più belli del vino, e i suoi denti più candidi del latte.
13 Zebulun wil live by the seashore and be a sailor on board the ships, with Sidon on his flank.	13 Zabulon abiterà sul lido del mare, e dove le navi hanno stazione, si dilaterà fino a Sidone.
14 Issachar is a strong donkey lying down among sheepfolds.	14 Issachar asino forte giacerà dentro i suoi confini.
15 When he saw how good the resting-place and how pleasant the country, he bowed his shoulder tothe load and became a slave to forced labour.	15 Egli ha considerato, come buona cosa è il riposo, e che la sua terra è ottima: e ha spiegato i suoi omeri a portar pesi, e si è soggettato al tributo.
16 Dan wil govern his people like any other of the tribes of Israel.	16 Dan giudicherà il suo popolo, come qualunque altra tribù d'Israele.
17 May Dan be a snake on the road, a viper on the path, who bites the horse on the hock so that itsrider falls off backwards!	17 Divenga Dan un serpente sulla strada, nel sentiero un ceraste, che morde l'unghie del cavallo per far cadere il cavaliere all'indietro.
18 I long for your deliverance, Yahweh!	18 LA SALUTE tua aspetterò io, o Signore.
19 Gad wil be raided by raiders, and he wil raid at their heels.	19 Gad armato di tutto punto combatterà dinanzi a lui: e si allestirà per tornare all'indietro.
20 Rich the food produced by Asher: he will furnish food fit for kings.	20 Grasso è il pane di Aser, e sarà la delizia de' re.
21 Naphtali is a swift hind bearing lovely fawns.	21 Nephtali, cervo messo in libertà, egli pronunzia parole graziose.
22 Joseph is a fruitful plant near a spring whose tendrils reach over the wal .	22 Figliuolo crescente Giuseppe, figliuolo crescente, e bello di aspetto: le fanciulle corsero sulle mura.
23 Archers in their hostility drew their bows and attacked him.	23 Ma lo amareggiarono e contesero con lui, e gli portarono invidia i maestri di tirar frecce.
24 But their bows were broken by a mighty One, the sinews of their arms were snapped by the power ofthe Mighty One of Jacob, by the Name of the Stone of Israel,	24 L'arco di lui si appoggiò sul (Dio) forte, e i legami delle braccia e delle mani di lui furono disciolti per mano del possente (Dio) di Giacobbe: indi uscì egli pastore, e pietra d'Israele.
25 the God of your father who assists you, El Shaddai who blesses you: blessings of heaven above,blessings of the deep lying below, blessings of the breasts and womb,	25 Il Dio del padre tuo sarà tuo aiutatore, e l'Onnipotente ti benedirà colle benedizioni di su alto del cielo, colle benedizioni dell'abisso, che giace giù basso, colle benedizioni delle mammelle, e degli uteri.
26 blessings of the grain and flowers, blessings of the eternal mountains, bounty of the everlasting hil s-- may they descend on Joseph's head, on the crown of the one dedicated from among his brothers!	26 Le benedizioni del padre tuo sorpassano quelle dei padri di lui; fino al venire di lui, che è il desiderio dei colli eterni: posino elle sul capo di Giuseppe, sul capo di lui Nazareno tra' suoi fratelli.
27 Benjamin is a ravening wolf, in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he is still sharing outthe spoil.'	27 Beniamino lupo rapace, la mattina divorerà la preda, e la sera spartirà le spoglie.
28 Al these make up the tribes of Israel, twelve in number, and this is what their father said to them ashe bade them farewell, giving each an appropriate blessing.	28 Tutti questi capi delle dodici tribù d'Israele. Queste cose disse loro il padre, e ciascheduno di essi benedisse colla propria sua benedizione.
29 Then he gave them these instructions, 'I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with myancestors, in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,	29 Diede poi loro ordine, dicendo: Io vo ad unirmi al mio popolo: seppellitemi coi padri miei nella doppia caverna, che è nel campo di Ephron Hetheo,
30 in the cave in the field at Machpelah, facing Mamre, in Canaan, which Abraham bought from Ephronthe Hittite as a burial site of his own.	30 Dirimpetto a Mambre nella terra di Chanaan, la quale Abramo comprò insieme col campo da Ephron Hetheo per avervi un sepolcro.
31 There Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried. There Isaac and his wife Rebekah were buried; andthere I buried Leah-	31 Ivi fu sepolto egli, e Sara sua moglie: ivi fu sepolto Isacco con Rebecca sua moglie: ivi fu sepolta anche Lia.
32 the field and the cave in it which were bought from the Hittites.'	32 Finiti poi gli avvertimenti dati da lui per istruzione de figliuoli, raccolse i suoi piedi nel letticciuolo, e si morì: e andò ad unirsi al suo popolo.
33 When Jacob had finished giving his instructions to his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed, andbreathing his last was gathered to his people.
