1 The heads of the Levite families came up to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua, son of Nun, and to the heads of families of the other tribes of the Israelites	1 Se acercaron los cabezas de familia de los levitas al sacerdote Eleazar, a Josué, hijo de Nun, y a los cabezas de familia de las tribus de Israel,
2 at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, and said to them, "The LORD commanded, through Moses, that cities be given us to dwell in, with pasture lands for our livestock."	2 cuando estaban en Silo, en tierra de Canaán, y les dijeron: «Yahveh ordenó por medio de Moisés que se nos dieran ciudades donde residir, con sus pastos para nuestro ganado».
3 Out of their own heritage, in obedience to this command of the LORD, the Israelites gave the Levites the following cities with their pasture lands.	3 Los israelitas, conforme a la orden de Yahveh, dieron a los levitas, de su heredad, las siguientes ciudades con sus pastos.
4 When the first lot among the Levites fell to the clans of the Kohathites, the descendants of Aaron the priest obtained thirteen cities by lot from the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin.	4 Se hizo el sorteo para los clanes quehatitas: y a los levitas hijos del sacerdote Aarón les tocaron trece ciudades de las tribus de Judá, Simeón, y Benjamín;
5 The rest of the Kohathites obtained ten cities by lot from the clans of the tribe of Ephraim, from the tribe of Dan, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh.	5 a los otros hijos de Quehat, por clanes, diez ciudades de las tribus de Efraím, de Dan y de la media tribu de Manasés.
6 The Gershonites obtained thirteen cities by lot from the clans of the tribe of Issachar, from the tribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh.	6 A los hijos de Guerson, por clanes, les tocaron trece ciudades de las tribus de Isacar, Aser, Neftalí y de la media tribu de Manasés, en Basán.
7 The clans of the Merarites obtained twelve cities from the tribes of Reuben, Gad and Zebulun.	7 A los hijos de Merarí, por clanes, les tocaron doce ciudades de las tribus de Rubén, Gad y Zabulón.
8 These cities with their pasture lands the Israelites allotted to the Levites in obedience to the LORD'S command through Moses.	8 Los israelitas dieron a los levitas por suertes esas ciudades y sus pastos, como Yahveh había ordenado por boca de Moisés.
9 From the tribes of the Judahites and Simeonites they designated the following cities,	9 De la tribu de Judá y de la tribu de Simeón les dieron las ciudades que se nombran a continuación;
10 and assigned them to the descendants of Aaron in the Kohathite clan of the Levites, since the first lot fell to them:	10 esta fue la parte de los hijos de Aarón, pertenecientes al clan quehatita, de los hijos de Levi; porque la primera suerte fue para ellos.
11 first, Kiriath-arba (Arba was the father of Anak), that is, Hebron, in the mountain region of Judah, with the adjacent pasture lands,	11 Les dieron Quiryat Arbá (ciudad del padre de Anaq), o sea Hebrón, en la montaña de Judá, con los pastos circundantes.
12 although the open country and villages belonging to the city had been given to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, as his property.	12 Pero la campiña de esta ciudad con sus aldeas se la dieron en propiedad a Caleb, hijo de Yefunné.
13 Thus to the descendants of Aaron the priest were given the city of asylum for homicides at Hebron, with its pasture lands; also, Libnah with its pasture lands,	13 A los hijos del sacerdote Aarón les dieron, como ciudad de asilo para los homicidas, Hebrón con sus pastos, y además Libná y sus pastos,
14 Jattir with its pasture lands, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,	14 Yattir con sus pastos, Estemoa con sus pastos
15 Holon with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,	15 Jolón con sus pastos, Debir con sus pastos,
16 Ashan with its pasture lands, Juttah with its pasture lands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands: nine cities from the two tribes mentioned.	16 Asan con sus pastos, Yutta con sus pastos, Bet Semes con sus pastos: nueve ciudades de esas dos tribus.
17 From the tribe of Benjamin they obtained the four cities of Gibeon with its pasture lands, Geba with its pasture lands,	17 De la tribu de Benjamín, Gabaón y sus pastos, Gueba y sus pastos,
18 Anathoth with its pasture lands, and Almon with its pasture lands.	18 Anatot y sus pastos, Almón y sus pastos: cuatro ciudades.
19 These cities which with their pasture lands belonged to the priestly descendants of Aaron, were thirteen in all.	19 Total de las ciudades de los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón: trece ciudades con sus pastos.
20 The rest of the Kohathite clans among the Levites obtained by lot, from the tribe of Ephraim, four cities.	20 A los clanes de los hijos de Quehat, a los levitas restantes entre los hijos de Quehat, les tocaron en suerte ciudades de la tribu de Efraím.
21 They were assigned, with its pasture lands, the city of asylum for homicides at Shechem in the mountain region of Ephraim; also Gezer with its pasture lands,	21 Se les dio, como ciudad de asilo para los homicidas, Siquem con sus pastos, en la montaña de Efraím, y además Guézer con sus pastos.
22 Kibzaim with its pasture lands, and Beth-horon with its pasture lands.	22 Quibsáyim con sus pastos, Bet Jorón con sus pastos: cuatro ciudades.
23 From the tribe of Dan they obtained the four cities of Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands,	23 De la tribu de Dan, Eltequé con sus pastos, Guibbetón con sus pastos,
24 Aijalon with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands;	24 Ayyalón con sus pastos, Gat Rimmón con sus pastos: cuatro ciudades.
25 and from the half-tribe of Manasseh the two cities of Taanach with its pasture lands and Ibleam with its pasture lands.	25 De la media tribu de Manasés, Tanak con sus pastos y Yibleam con sus pastos: dos ciudades.
26 These cities which with their pasture lands belonged to the rest of the Kohathite clans were ten in all.	26 Total: diez ciudades con sus pastos para lo restantes clanes de los hijos de Quehat.
27 The Gershonite clan of the Levites received from the half-tribe of Manasseh two cities: the city of asylum for homicides at Golan, with its pasture lands; and also Beth-ashtaroth with its pasture lands.	27 A los hijos de Guersón, de los clanes levíticos, les dieron: de la media tribu de Manasés, como ciudad de asilo para los homicidas, Golán en Basán con sus pastos, y Astarot con sus pastos: dos ciudades.
28 From the tribe of Issachar they obtained the four cities of Kishion with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,	28 De la tribu de Isacar, Quisyón con sus pastos, Daberat con sus pastos
29 Jarmuth with its pasture lands, and En-gannim with its pasture lands; from the tribe of Asher,	29 Yarmut con sus pastos, En Gannim con sus pastos: cuatro ciudades.
30 the four cities of Mishal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,	30 De la tribu de Aser, Misal con sus pastos, Abdón con sus pastos,
31 Helkath with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands;	31 Jelcat con sus pastos, Rejob con sus pastos: cuatro ciudades.
32 and from the tribe of Naphtali, three cities: the city of asylum for homicides at Kedesh in Galilee, with its pasture lands; also Hammath with its pasture lands, and Rakkath with its pasture lands.	32 De la tribu de Neftalí, como ciudad de asilo para los homicidas, Quedes en Galilea con sus pastos, Jammot Dor con sus pastos, Raqcat con sus pastos: tres ciudades.
33 These cities which with their pasture lands belonged to the Gershonite clans were thirteen in all.	33 Total de ciudades de los guersonitas, por clanes: trece ciudades con sus pastos.
34 The Merarite clans, the last of the Levites, received from the tribe of Zebulun the four cities of Jokneam with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands,	34 A los clanes de los hijos de Merarí, al resto de los levitas: de la tribu de Zabulón: Yoqneam con sus pastos, Cartá con sus pastos,

36 also, across the Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben, four cities: the city of asylum for homicides at Bezer with its pasture lands, Jahaz with its pasture lands,	36 al otro lado del Jordán, de la tribu de Rubén, como ciudad de asilo para los homicidas, Béser en el desierto, en el llano, con sus pastos, y además Yahás con sus pastos,

38 and from the tribe of Gad a total of four cities: the city of asylum for homicides at Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, also Mahanaim with its pasture lands,	38 De la tribu de Gad, como ciudad de asilo para los homicidas, Ramot en Galaad, y Majanáyim
39 Heshbon with its pasture lands, and Jazer with its pasture lands.	39 Jesbón con sus pastos, Yazer con sus pastos: cuatro ciudades.
40 The cities which were allotted to the Merarite clans, the last of the Levites, were therefore twelve in all.	40 Total de ciudades asignadas por suerte a los hijos de Merarí, por clanes, es decir, al resto de los clanes levíticos: doce ciudades.
41 Thus the total number of cities within the territory of the Israelites which, with their pasture lands, belonged to the Levites, was forty-eight.	41 Total de las ciudades de los levitas en medio de la propiedad de los israelitas: 48 ciudades con sus pastos.
42 With each and every one of these cities went the pasture lands round about it.	42 Cada una de las ciudades comprendía la ciudad y los pastos circundantes. Así todas las ciudades mencionadas.
43 And so the LORD gave Israel all the land he had sworn to their fathers he would give them. Once they had conquered and occupied it,	43 Yahveh dio a los israelitas toda la tierra que había jurado dar a sus padres. La ocuparon y se establecieron en ella.
44 the LORD gave them peace on every side, just as he had promised their fathers. Not one of their enemies could withstand them; the LORD brought all their enemies under their power.	44 Yahveh les concedió paz en todos sus confines, tal como había jurado a sus padres, y ninguno de sus enemigos pudo hacerles frente. Yahveh entregó a todos sus enemigos en sus manos.
45 Not a single promise that the LORD made to the house of Israel was broken; every one was fulfilled.	45 No falló una sola de todas las espléndidas promesas que Yahveh había hecho a la casa de Israel. Todo se cumplió.
